But I'm still recovering from the 4 hour delay in ATL Airport, the lack of sleep, the loss of a weekend, and the drive back to ATL. Was it worth $1000 to $1500 to do this? In my case, yes. I'll do a better job 'searching' next time, and be more comfortable with the process, and hopefully won't have to travel very far.
Thanks to all for all the info provided within these forums. It's been a big help.
Purchase Price = $29,458 (including door-edge guards, mudguards, wheel locks) + TAX
Ext Warranty = $1230 (8yrs/100,000)
I did the trade-in and got very good price for that too.
Overall I am very happy to get this price as all surrounding dealers are really expensive. I would highly recommend this dealer if someone is looking for any deals.
Either is a good choice depending on what is most important to you. If you've never had a vehicle that offers a higher seating position, you'll be quickly hooked.
Price = 28,682.31+ $699for towing package = $29,341 (no tax/title added)
(includes $489 appearance pkg--pin stripes, mud guards, pait/fabric/lthr protect, $399 pre-del service charge, and a couple of other very small charges)
6% sales tax in FL plus county tax of 1.5% on first $5,000 = $31,180 + title
Requested ocean mist metallic and looks like they have 1 in stock.
Question: Is this a good deal? Should I wait until last week of yr for better pricing? Thanks in advance. :shades:
will contact me tomorrow about what they would charge
me to deliver it to SC (about 11 hours away). Very straight forward, no nonsense.....a very pleasant experience thus far. I'll post when I seal the deal (I say when because I'm pretty sure these folks will get my business!
additional $150. Well worth it for my time, airfare, gas, etc. Thanks for the info though.
I found in the SF Bay Area (after emailing ~20 dealers --
thanks for the great advice!).
Dublin Honda (Internet/Fleet department) quoted an
EX-L in our color (silver) at $28,100 +tax and license.
This was about $500 below the next lowest price. I was
skeptical (too good to be true?), but confirmed the
vehicle was on the lot, drove across the bay last night,
and came home with a new Odyssey. The only extra fee was
the $45 docs charge.
Vehicle had 9 miles on the odo when we took it out for
the testdrive; we doubled that before signing the contract.
Vehicle was in dealer inventory since Oct 25th. Carefully
looking over the vehicle, the front trim on the driver-side
roof rail was missing -- looks like the factory forgot to
install the retaining spring. Dealer quickly replaced the
spring and the trim from another Odyssey on the lot, and
we were set.
Final out-the-door price, WITH tax, registration, and all,
was $30,717.
Thanks-looking for an EX-L w Nav and DVD
I've found that the amount of time in putting together a deal seems to be reversely proportionate to how good it is.
Waiting certainly shouldn't cost you any more (unless interest rates rise). You might want to shop in the days immediately before Christmas when traffic at some stores is slow.
Drove from Austin to Fernandez Honda in San Antonio. Very highly recommend talking to the internet manager there.
Since we make several trips during during the year holidays, spring break, and summer vacation the NAV will be handy to us. Also, the rearview camera can be helpful getting out of a parking lot. The RES will keep the kids from asking are we there yet? All the features will come in handy.
Paint and fabric protection = coat of wax and a can of Scotchguard (and big dollars for dealers).
I am also looking for EXL in Houston area. Will call the dealership you mentioned.
Could have gotten it for a little lower but dealer gave me $1200 over KBB for my trade. Overall great deal and very pleased with the process.
Contacted the dealership through their internet department and got a quote for invoice for the van (before dealer ads) without any haggling.
Getting in and out is far easier in the Odyssey. I'm 6-4 and the Odyssey feels (and is) more spacious in all directions. Plus the Odyssey's driver's seat is more comfortable and offers better lumbar support.
The one drawback is that there is a protrusion in the ceiling (on both sides) of the van due to the sliding door track. For certain folks, this may cause a problem (in grazing or bumping one's head) when the seat is pretty far rearward.
Some find the (non-telescoping) steering wheel in the Odyssey too far away. It seemed that way to me, too, at first. Now those in other vehicles (including the Pilot) seem too close.
All that said, comfort is such an individual thing that I would encourage you to spend a significant amount of time with both to see which works best.
Glad to be of assistance.
good price?

Have you bought the van?
How do I contact you offlist? I clicked on your name but did not see an email address somewhere.
Thanks
Would you mind sharing what offer they give and what did
you pay for and where did you buy the vehicle.
Thanks
slate green metallic with olive leather interiors. Dealer
is Peters Honda, Nashua,NH. Pretty much all dealers in
northern MA and (Commonwealth, Herb Chambers, Atamian) were around that price range. I just choose Peters as it
is just miles from my house.
Good luck.
Thanks!
Christopher
just added to my deal.
Yesterday (12-17-05) I bought a 2006 Odyssey EX-L, with 3.8 miles, slate green metalic with grey interior and Honda Wheel Locks for $27,800 plus tax, title, and license (total out the door was $29,452 - includes Maryland 5% sale tax, plus $262.00 for MD title and registration which I think is about 70$ more than I could do it for by going to the DMV, but I'm not 100% sure on the exact fees although I know MD did recently raise its registration fee).
Criswell Honda, Germantown, MD 20874. No problems with the expierience, salesguy and finance guy are good guys. (email if you need names)
Total deal took just over an hour and a half and this included my 15-20 min 'check out the car' plus, a 10 mile test drive, and the dealer 'clean up'.
I paid cash (actually nothing yet, have to send the check tomorrow)
Since I can not give out the salesman's name ((email if you need names)) or just ask the operator for the salesman that bought her lunch last. (This is how I would pick salesman when cold calling dealers looking for this deal.) 4 other dealers all would get to $28,300 (invoice is $28,258) but no lower, I just kept calling, first asking if they have the vehicle I want (giving them 2 color choices), then if so, tell them at $27,800 I'll buy. Criswell took the offer. It had been a very slow Saturday for them.
Good luck in your purchase.
