I just thought I would share our final decision. We purchased a new Silver 07 EXL with R&N for $29375. We did not have a trade-in and did not finance. It was a base R&N, the only accessories were the cargo tray and splash guards. The only thing that price does not include is TT&L but all other fees are included. I called 2 states and it was the best I could get here in the South. They knew I was ready to come get it with cash and I got quotes of $30220 and $29900. The second closest was $29500.

Happy shopping, I agree with the previous poster that the dealerships seemed to know less than me about the 08's and differences. I can never tell when they are playing dumb and when they just really don't know. I'm so glad to be done!

    "2007 Odyssey Featured Special Lease
$279.00 per month for 36 months. $2,499.00 total due at signing.

Closed-end lease for 2007 Odyssey LX Automatic Transmission (Model RL3827EW) for $279.00 per month for 36 months with a $1,625.00 capitalized cost reduction. $2,499.00 total due at lease signing"

When an offer is made like this from Honda, is it good to go or is there room for negotiations? If so where?

    Thanks for all replies.

    that is a good deal..

can you tell me where you bought that.

was this an online offer in the mail.

    thanks

So what was your total OTD price? And did you get killed on the trade-in?

Does anyone have any recent prices paid in the Salt Lake City area? I have been working with a couple dealers but they are not matching prices I have seen on the forum from places like So. Cal, NJ, etc.(SLC is currently +$1000).

Big demand here and only 6 dealers in the state seems to keep them from dealing too low, looking for a dealer that will compete.

Also looking for anyone with Las Vegas prices, as it may be worth the drive to save some money. Thanks!

I sent almost 10 quote requests for EX-L (no DVD, no Nav), and got the lowest quote of base price $26800 + $145 splash guard + $$218 DMV fee = $27163 OTD (Oregon does not have sales tax).

I also went to a dealer in person to do test driving, and I saw around 30-40 Odyssey in the lot. Should I wait till Nov? Does dealer have something like black Friday deal?

BTW, I am thinking install after market DVD player when my baby get a bit older, anybody has good or bad comments on the after market DVD players? Thanks for inputs.

    Tampa2,

Congratulations. Glad the transaction was painless and priced fair. Especially, holding out for the black/black. BTW, Hondaland STILL has their black/black. They have emailed me a couple of times, asking me to come by their remote locations for the best clearance prices on it...even though I told them they lost the deal and I had allready purchased. What a shame, it couldve been a win/win for a lil negotiation. Also, if you get a chance, check out my thread on grill inserts. I posted pix of an aftermarket grillguard, which dresses up the Touring very nicely. Happy motoring....

I accepted the offer after my local dealer couldn't match. I emailed the internet manager that sent me this offer tonight to get them to fax over my buyer's order tomorrow AM. I'll be happy to post once I get that in hand. If they don't hold up the offer they sent, I'll be sure to let everyone know! Thanks.

Getting close to buying an 07 Touring (don't think I want to pay the premium for 08s). Can someone guide me on what people are paying for these lately? Also, I'm looking for the Honda incentives, only thing I seem to find is the 2.9% financing. Is there anything else? Are people expecting some more incentives when more 08s hit the lot?

This forum has been so helpful I wanted to post the price I just paid for an Ocean Mist EXL w RES/NAV. We agreed to 32K OTD and worked backwards from there. I did not get any extras (no mud flaps, cargo tray, etc.)

And thank you DonkeyPunch for your previous posts. I actually did a sociological experiment emailing the same dealers under a female name and male name and though you can get the same price at the end of the day as a female, you have to work a little harder for it. So as DonkeyPunch previously suggested to another female buyer, create a male email name for purposes of researching prices!!

    base price 29,395.14 (includes dest)
    tax 2,057.66
    title 334
    tire tax 7.50
    online reg fee 7.70
    doc fee 198

    total 32,000

Go2sailing -- I would appreciate knowing which dealership you got the $26,800 quote from (I'm located in Vancouver, WA). That's better than the Costco quote I received of $27,293 @ Dick Hannah Honda.

Sounds like you received an excellent deal. Can you post the dealership name and perhaps email me the name of the salesperson. Thanks.
  • barney17barney17 Member Posts: 3
I got this deal at Herb Chambers in Burlington, MA
sales person was Jillian M. in the internet sales dept.

Let me know if you are unable to get this price, I don't have my notes with me, but I had almost the exact same deal for another dealer

    Good luck.

    jonfrasier:

Touring with all options (39.9K sticker) was:

    * 33.5K base price
    * 397 dealer fee
    * $75 in a series of small fees that seemed standard ($2 for Lemon Law, $36.35 for registration fee, etc)
    * Taxes

I didn't get killed on my trade, I checked a few sites, looked at Autotrader to see what they were asking for them, and got quotes over the phone on ranges from a few dealers. I figure if I was willing to take dealer stock and went to the most aggressive dealer I would have gotten $700 off on the Ody plus found another $300-$500 on my trade. It's just not worth my time, I have 3 kids, work, etc. Having the van delivered saved me several hours of time and hassle.

Please do... I'm just starting the process and beginning to get phone calls. I would appreciate the dealership's name so that I can also check my local dealer. I have a 2005 Oddy that I'm looking to trade, so I'll start at Carmax and then see what I can get elsewhere.

    Much appreciated.

I appreciate all of the information I'm gathering from this forum. I would ask when posting purchase price info to please include a breakdown, not just the OTD price. Sales tax varies greatly among states, and the dealer 'extras' are just as varied. This is intended to help all of us compare apples-to-apples, thanks!

I bought this(EX-L RES 28,197/- OTD)in north Virginia. It was online offer in the mail.

I got an offer from a dealer for $28998 (incl. destination fee), OTD should be around $31725 (approx). It doesn't have any other accessories. Should I go for it or wait for another week to see if any manufacturer discounts/incentives will be announced.

Please let me know the NJ dealer, looking to buy very soon. I am in South Jersey and the lowest quote I have been given so far is 30,0187 + TTL for EXL with RES/NAV. Thanks

I have been soliciting quotes from Boston area dealers for a 2007 EX-L with RES (DVD) and NAV. Wanted to share so that this forum has the benefit of this info. All prices include Destination but nothing else (options, tax etc).

    Boch Honda $29,398
    Herb Chambers $29,489
    Cambridge Honda $29,588
    Honda Cars of Boston $29,766
    Kelly Honda $30,188
Honda North - will not quote on Internet / email

These prices are without doing any negotiating either online or in person. So their best prices are likely several hundred $ lower. Interested in feedback. I am going to hold off on purchasing until November as I have heard that the $2,000 cash back will likely continue.

I got quoted following prices on Odyssey - 2007 & 2008 from Honda City in Chicago. TTL and Doc fee extra. Another dealer is willing to match the prices on 2007s.

Anyone had any experience with Honda City. Are they good? Because they are giving very aggressive quotes on 2008s as well and have some models on Floor.

    2007 Odyssey:

    EX-L $25000

    EX-L w/ RES $26500

    EXL R&N $28400

    2008 Odyssey:

    EX-L $28754

    EX-L w/ RES $30200

    EX-L R&N $32187

pankajnawal ----how did you get a quote for 25k on an EXL?? where do you live? are the prices different in different parts of the country? I just got a quote for 26800 in california...is this good anyone??

    thanks
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
    08 Odyssey
    Touring Res $33995
    Touring R&N $35983

These are by Honda City in Chicago.
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
They have given this quote of $25k after some hard negotiation on email/phone. I did it based on a posting here that someone in TX bought it at $25K. Lot of other Chicago dealers have refused to match it. Most are willing to do around $25750 on EXL. Prices should be same throughout the US as Honda has the same promotion going on everywhere. $26800 is certainly on higher side.

I can't seem to get my local dealerships to come even close to the 25k you're getting, needless to say I am not very good at negotiating. Please advise on what to say in order to get your negotiated price.

So far I've been given an OTD of $27,700 with a 3% tax rate, $400 Doc fees, $50 Tag+Lic, mud guard, protective sealant. After reading that at least 3 people in here have gotten 25K or close to it, I can't help but wonder what I'm doing wrong. :confuse: PLEASE HELP

    I finally puller the trigger today;

    Touring R/N, Slate on Black.

32,800 - Sale Price (including Destination)
    16,250 - Trade in
    16,550 - Cash Difference
    50 - Documentary Service Fee
    25 - ERT Fee
    16,625 - Taxable Total
    1,080 - 6.5 Sales Tax
    80 - License Transfer
    ------
    17,785 OTD

Purchased from Pauly Honda in Libertyville, IL. Definitely a pleasant experience working with them. We went back and forth a few times on the trade in value.

The only other dealership that had Slate on Black was Community Honda in Orland Park, IL and they were ready to sell for 32,687. But they were a$$holes on the phone, so I didn't want to give them the business.

Happy to further discuss my shopping/purchase details if it will help anyone. Thanks to all that contribute to this forum which helped me out a lot!

    Hi,
I've been offered a 2007 Odyssey EX for a price of $23,499. Seems like a really good price to me, but I wanted to check before making the deal. Has anyone out there been offered a better quote on the 2007 EX?
  • cssystemscssystems Member Posts: 4
Anyone know when the 2008's will be available in NY? I called some dealers in NC after reading here that they were available there.
Anyone get any good pricing on one? Im looking for EXL...
Otherwise, what states/regions actually HAVE the 2008?
Anyone think it's worth it to wait and pay premium for 2008, buy the 07 now or maybe wait til Dec 26th and buy it?
how much can i really save?
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Whether prices throughout the country "should be the same" is quite beside the point. The fact of the matter is that vehicle pricing depends on local market conditions. It always has and always will.

BTW, Honda is not even making a Touring RES in '08 so where your quoted price for that "model" comes from is a mystery.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
The '08s are just now reaching the dealers. If you want an '07 there is still ample inventory at many stores and you should be able to find your desired model/color combination at a great price. In two months, you may well be searching hard just to find an '07.
  • dreamcar5dreamcar5 Member Posts: 69
Please let me know the final price.

I bought R&N for $29888, you get a very good deal IF $26K for EXL RES ;)
  • dilvaladilvala Member Posts: 13
i need the quote also please

    rooomsinc @gmail.com

and are you sure the destination is not inlcuded?
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
I got emails specifically including destination for 07 EXL-RES and EXL-RN as I am interested in them. But you can never trust a Car Dealer inspite of having email confirmation. They can always throw a curve ball ;-) Only way is to walk into the dealership and be ready to walk out if they throw a surprise.

You an check Honda City and Castle Honda in Chicago.
  • alartialarti Member Posts: 8
That sounds like a fair deal based on my research (but no quotes yet). Where are you located?
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
My quote for $25k is for EXL. No RES. With RES, it is $26.5k . If you have EXL-RES for $26k, including Destination, go for it. Can you tell me the dealer who quoted $26k for EXL-RES.
  • pankajnawalpankajnawal Member Posts: 15
Honda City in Chicago can solve the mystery. They sent me all the prices. I did not pay attention on Touring prices as I am only interested in EXL. But now that you mentioned, I am also getting suspicious of this dealer.

I never trust a Car Salesperson even after written email confirmation.
