Waiting for prices to drop on the '07s in anticipation of the '08s may be smart in general, but I wonder if it makes sense to wait for the SE V6. This is the first year for this model, and I think it is the sweet spot in the Accord line. I've been told that not many have been made this year, and 2007 is the only year they will be made before the '08 remodeling. I'm guessing that as word gets around the prices on the SE V6 will tend upward through the year. That's why I bought now and decided not to wait.

I put a down payment of 2500 on my credit card just to get the 1% back in points on the card. I feel this is great deal. Thanks to the folks at Larry Hopkins Honda for making it happen (it wasn't a cake walk to get it). But they did what they needed to do to close the deal on the last day of the month. I'll pick it up tomorrow after they prep the car. The salesman is even picking me up from work to go get the car (~7 miles away). I'm very pleased with the experience all in all.

Does it matter now? The time to ask is before you sign the papers, not after. I don't think any state has a 3 day right of recision like you get on a home refinance.
In any case, invoice on an 07 I4 SE manual is $20,919 and the auto is $21,638. So if you got an 07 car and had no trade in and they didn't add any dealer fees on top of the number you posted, you got a very good deal.
You got an excellent deal (my dad was offered $20,505 on the exact same car (automatic, cloth, right?) earlier in the week. That is something like $1500 under invoice.

I'm pretty sure they won't know who "thegraduate" is, but I'm sure you can e-mail them and ask for a quote. Be sure to let them know that you are aware prices are going for under invoice now. I am not sure who does the internet sales, but the sales manager who has been with the dealership for years is a very honest family man, and a good guy altogether. He is who arranges our deals.

First I actually went in to two different dealers previously and walked out after we were unable to make an agreement on price. Everything was very cordial though. No need for yelling or irritation. The first dealer really was trying to make the deal happen, and was for the exact same car but with navi. They were offering 27700 OTD. I just didn't want to pay the 2000+ for the navi. El Cerrito Honda was the place. I thought they actually tried to make the deal happen. I also went to Avery Greene Honda in Vallejo. They had the exact same car listed for 23995+tax+fees. They didn't negotiate at all and stuck to their price. Anyways, I think that if you stick to your guns, and are patient, you can get someone to make you a deal that is worth taking.
As far as how low dealers were willing to go. A few seemed willing to just clear the cars out. So take invoice. Subtract 750 dealer cash (incentive). Subtract off 3% holdback. (notice I didn't even touch destination charge). So this would be the bottom of the barrel price that someone would be willing to sell (in my opinion) if you are very very lucky. This would put my car at:

I was negotiating with them for about 1hour, on the last day of the month, at 8pm at night. It took patience, but i got it. Best advice, visit multiple dealerships, and negotiate with your low ball price. Be nice, be patient, and you'll get a feel for how low dealers will go. This was my first time purchasing a new car, so i feel i did pretty well. :-)

My personal opinion: why by a 2007 when you can get a 2006 if its available? From people who tried to sell me 2007s when they didn't have 2006s, they were well over 1000 over the 2006 model price. If i save 1000 by buying a 2006, and sit on it in the bank, after 10 years i'll have 1629 dollars at 5% interest per year. If i put 1000 into buying a 2007 (which is the EXACT same car) then after ten years i get better resale for a whopping 500 depreciated dollars. Makes no sense from a financial perspective.
The reason why i say ignore dest. charge is because there has to be some extra wiggle room for the dealers. I don't know where it is, but its there somewhere. and 600 dollars seems reasonable in hidden savings to the dealers per car. Just my personal opinion.

Honda.com provides that the 4.9/3.9 financing (subsidy) is good through 12.4. 1) Does anyone have any information what incentives Honda may be offering on Accord Coupes (particularly EX-L I4 AT is what I am interested in) for December?

Back in October end, a dealer in cleaveland quoted me 26,400 OTD price that includes all the taxes and fees(colour:graphite metallic or silver allabaster metallic) but i backed out because of some other expenses during that time can anybody tell me thats a good price or should i bargain more for it since it is december now, taxes in my county are 6.75%, can anybody please advice i want to buy the car before christmas or by month end.
I bought one for less than invoice from Hersons Honda. My experience working with their internet rep was great -- would certainly recommend them to anyone.
The reps from Sport in Silver Spring and Criswell in Germantown were also great. Their quotes were equally good. I also got a good quote from Northwest at Baltimore. Many others either did not reply or gave a high quote.
Leesburg Honda's rep gave me a quote $1000 less than anyone else. When I was suspicious of such a low number their rep retracted saying that he made a mistake -- but I am not sure if it was a genuine mistake or if he was playing games.
I certainly did not need to use rude/foul language, and I dont think anyone needs to. I used a fax request for quotes, which I think worked great. I purchased on 11/29. On 11/30 I received many calls and emails from other dealers asking me if I was still looking. My guess is that some of them may have been offering even lower prices on the last day of the month.

I got my car from Livermore, CA, which is North CA. Overall, I've got to say that dealership was very good. Now, I believe you can even get better deal than I did. Good luck.
More people should try CarBargains if they have a couple weeks or so wait or them to shop deals for you. They charge a fee but will refund it if you can prove you bought the same car for less without using the quotes they obtained for you as a negotiating ploy.
This has already been asked an answered - we don't know so you can wait and see and save or pay more, take your choice.
You misread the incentives page, the $1250 is on left over 06 Accord coupes. If you can find one, you should get a nice price.
If you are Costco member, isn't this free? If so, then get a quote and see. I would not think it worth it on an Accord, since you should be able to do invoice or less on your own. BTW, if you are Costco member you get a discount (0.5%, I think) on CapitalOne car loans. Since C1 has better than average rates, getting a discount off of that makes it even better.
The November Honda sales numbers are out. The headline is

So with record sales, maybe no good deals for December? Well, you look at the breakdown and the new MDX (Acura) is what made the record, Honda car and truck sales were down 4.6% and 1.2%, but when you add in Acura sales you get a record.
Looking at Accord sales, they are down 4.5% for Nov 06 VS Nov 05 and down 5.4% for YTD 06 VS YTD 05. The Accord Hybrid was big loser dropping 62.8% for the month and 67.5% for the YTD. The hybrid makes up a really small percentage of sales, so overall Accord sales would be down even if Hybrid sales had remained steady.
No one knows what Honda will do, but I would ASSUME current programs would continue or get better - since they only have December to try to make the yearly totals come up to 06 numbers.
If you are financing, you might do it before the 4th ends to get the cheap rate (in case they do not continue it) as you might save enough VS market rate to cover any discount you might get extra on the car in December. For leases and those paying cash? You might just wait and see. But who knows? Honda, not me
BTW, Civic sales dropped 15% compared to last year, but are up 4% for the year. Ody, Pilot, Element, and Ridgeline are all down for November while the new CR-V continues to sell like hotcakes.

You can get the car with destination and dealer fee for invoice if you want to run down to Louisville and get it. The taxes, title, and tag will be the same no matter which dealer you buy from - so find a dealer that will sell you the car with destination and dealer fees for around invoice and you will be good to go.

I agree .. I just broke it down if someone were to enter that dealership or really any dealership in Charlotte. I focused on the OTD price. Do you think I could have done better than 24500 OTD?? .. invoice is 25,278 and Edmunds TMV says I should be paying ~27K.

The lease was about to expire on the car and it only had 28000 miles .. so I shopped it to trade also .. My guess I got like 17184 for the trade as my payoff was 16134. NOTE: The trade had very little to do with the selling price in this deal. 24500 OTD is in my opinion a very good price. Invoice is like 25232. I leased for 36 mos, 12k miles per year. The main reason I posted is to help potential buyers in DEC. I think the same price probably can be had. If you need any more info such as dealer / saleperson please let me know.

After reading posts here since last March, it seems that it is a little tougher to get a knock-out deal in the Puget Sound area... at least compared to what others are saying in other parts of the country. One never knows what incentive a dealer might have at any given time, however.
Not sure I agree. Price on car was negociated with 2 dealers before trade was discussed. Also, from looking at this message board it looks like I did substantially better than other folks around the country. I think I have the right price here, but in most cases you may be right when tohe 2 are muddied.
Just returned from the local dealership -- where I was offered an '06 Accord EX V6 (w/o nav) for $23,900 (didn't negotiate yet). Car has 5500 miles. I've never bought a demo before -- but initially the price seems a bit high since it's an '06 and has 5000+ miles on it.

Don't lie to the guy; dealers can figure out if youre lying. If you couldn't afford the car but "Need" heated power seats and Dual Automatic Climate Control, he's gonna see right through you.
That aside, you should be able to negotiate a car with that many miles down to between $21k and $22k, if not better. Check for any dings or scratches too, as well as interior stains, etc... If there are a couple of blemishes, I might be prone to offer under $21k. Blue book "private party" value on this car in Excellent condition is $23k; $21,750 in "Good" condition. I think those figures are about $1-2k high.
Yes, I got the AT sedan...because I don't know how to drive stick shift. I have gotten my car for a little over a week now and it is running great. Just for your information, if you were to get the EX-L, then you should be paying about 1,300-1,400.00 more compared to the EX. I could have gotten the EXL but I am not a fan of leather seats (too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter(even though seated can be heated)). Did you talk to the dealer in Livermore?? When I was doing the search, I contacted other dealership, and all of them are a little more expensive (about $200 - $500.00) more. If you live in the Bay Area and you really want to get the car, give me your email, I will email you the name of the seller so that you can talk to him directly. Hopefully you will get the same or even better deal than me.

If yes, that's a bargain. My OTD price for my 07 accoard EXL V6 was $300 above invoice price. Total=$25.5K (DC area, VA).
For some reason, I did not see any incentives/rebates or holdback for 07 Accord from Edmunds website.

The ONLY way to know how much you paid for the car is if you paid cash or financed it.
After reading posts here since last March, it seems that it is a little tougher to get a knock-out deal in the Puget Sound area... at least compared to what others are saying in other parts of the country. One never knows what incentive a dealer might have at any given time, however.
Not sure I agree. Price on car was negociated with 2 dealers before trade was discussed. Also, from looking at this message board it looks like I did substantially better than other folks around the country. I think I have the right price here, but in most cases you may be right when tohe 2 are muddied.

I'm considering purchasing a 2006 Accord V6 EX-L Sedan with the 6-speed manual (Non-Nav)from a local dealer here in Central PA. They quoted me $24600 not including TTL.
I think this is a bit high for an 06, but wanted to see what you all thought and what you think might be a good price.

You got a 2007 Accord EX I4 AT sedan, right? You've done a fantastic job actually. Could you put it in words here that what you got is an AT? Coz one dealer shitted me that your deal must be for a Manual Transmission. Your words here may help me in my next dealer visit. TIA!

That aside, you should be able to negotiate a car with that many miles down to between $21k and $22k, if not better. Check for any dings or scratches too, as well as interior stains, etc... If there are a couple of blemishes, I might be prone to offer under $21k. Blue book "private party" value on this car in Excellent condition is $23k; $21,750 in "Good" condition. I think those figures are about $1-2k high.
Yes, I got the AT sedan...because I don't know how to drive stick shift. I have gotten my car for a little over a week now and it is running great. Just for your information, if you were to get the EX-L, then you should be paying about 1,300-1,400.00 more compared to the EX. I could have gotten the EXL but I am not a fan of leather seats (too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter(even though seated can be heated)). Did you talk to the dealer in Livermore?? When I was doing the search, I contacted other dealership, and all of them are a little more expensive (about $200 - $500.00) more. If you live in the Bay Area and you really want to get the car, give me your email, I will email you the name of the seller so that you can talk to him directly. Hopefully you will get the same or even better deal than me.
