"I got a 07 Accord V6 EX-L Sedan for $22,500. Has every option except nav. I believe I got a good deal. Also 2.9% for 3 years."
Is that possible?
My only problem was that I found my Passat I might have wanted to trade has a title problem. We just moved to DC and retitled. DC listed 1000 miles instead of 81000 miles, so carfax says speedo rollback. We already got a corrected title today but I suspect the blot stays on carfax. Sooo, no wholesaler will touch the car for anywhere near what it is worth. So some private party will get a pretty good deal.
thank you in advance!
Thx
Ok, I've just picked up this baby this afternoon. Working with folks at McDavid Honda @Houston is really enjoyable. I got the quote from a internet sales manager and he honored what he said when I came. Here's the detailed invoice:
Selling price: $23,284
Documentary: $55
State insp. $21
State sales tax (6.25%): $1,455.25
Dealer inventory tax: $60.68
Lic. & Reg. Fees: 105.30
Total: $24,981
Everything was great until I entered the financing office. The financing guy tried to sell the extended warranty, and all kinds of insurance including the life insurance. I said 'NO' to everything. Unfortunately, the APR went up to 8.34%. I asked him about this high rate. He said, if I agreed to buy the $850 extended warranty 72-month/100,000 miles, the rate would go down to 6.07%. By other words, it would be + $6 for each month for 36 months. So, I decided to favor the low APR. I thought it could be not a good choice, but it should be a peace in mind for the next 6 years.
In short, the total price was $25,831 in which $24,981 for the car and $850 for the extended warranty.
Down pmt: $10,000
Loan: $15,831
APR: 6.07% or $482.14/month
Term: 36 months.
I love this car. I'm happy on what I did and the way McDavid Honda doing the business. They are all nice. I truly appreciate all your helpful advices, recommendations, hints, and tips from edmunds and this amazing forum.

RE: "just got a LX i4 AT for 16763 plus freight, TTL and $49 for paperwork. Might have done better, but my time has a value and this deal was really easy."
Was the dealer in NoVA? $49 for paperwork? I don't think there's any dealer in NoVA that has a processing fee of $49 since most of them are usually from $289 up to $499. Kudos to you for getting them to agree to a proc. fee of just $49!
You did great on that price. From what I understand, the MSRP is $20,925 (for an 5AT) not including freight and other fees, so that's $4,162 below MSRP, and $2,206 below Edmund's reported invoice (not including freight and any other fees, etc.).
Congratulations!

David
This was the best internet quote I got. I did not take their quote ande shop it to others. After all, it is an easy game to say "match others" but also a pretty cheap one. No, the other dealers had their chance and did not take it.
Could I have saved another few bills? Maybe, maybe not, but it would have been at the risk of hassle and disappointment. So I saved a good part of my Saturday and took the best deal offered, which I thought was decent.
Dealer experience was very good, too. A little sell on the extended warranty, but not too hard. It's funny: the reason I bought an Accord was to do without maintenance and repair hassles. Why would I then want the extended warranty?
BTW, I completely agree with your philosophy of rewarding dealers who provide a consumer friendly quote to begin with rather than playing this game of call us back for the real quote so that we have a shot at stealing business from the someone who gave you a better quote.
Sorry to hear about the title mess up on your VW.
Enjoy your new car!
Do you mind to let me know which dealer it is?
I'm considering Accord SE too and I just got a OTD for 21,800
but I think we can get a better price~~~
And they were not the only dealer that accepted this price, so you can probabally ask around and find an even better deal.
If you don't plan on selling anytime soon or aren't leasing, that $10K discount may be worth considering, but do remember that with the '08 just around the corner, that '06 Accord is going to be two years old and from a depreciation/value standpont, it's regarded as a two year old car even though it's "new" and untitled. I'm surprised that they still have an '06 sitting in their lot/showroom given that it's mid of '07 and the '08s are around the corner. Wonder why the car wasn't sold/or remains unsold?

David

I just purchased an SE V6. For the price, you can't beat it. The TL was the car I wanted, but it would have cost so much more. The SE V6 in my opinion is the big value in the lineup. For under 20 you are getting a great engine, and all the latest safety features: stabilty and traction control and full curtain airbags. The interior is very nice, and I really like the MMY exterior changes. The car also handles very well.
I might give them a try in a week and see what I can come up with.
LX V6 has Moon Roof, Power Driver seat and heat mirror, and it is almost the same price as the SE V6. Can you tell me the price only on the Car so I can search around in the Bay area, Ca.
thanks.
