Any suggestions on accessories though? Where I get stuck in price, I'm sure I can squeeze in something. Backup camera? I don't need something like an mp3 CD player when I have the aux in and can just hook up an ipod.
Can you help me negotiate financing, extra options, and anything else I could get to make it a better deal.
Lake County, IL
Thank You
No doubt the 07 is a great car too. We looked at both. The deals on the 07s were and are incredible. But we concluded that all of the discounts on the 07s would impact the resale (and insurance) value of the car. Plus we keep our cars for 7-10 years, depending on mileage, and long term, we concluded that it was worth paying more for the 08 than taking the discount. It all depends on your model to model comparison (EXL V6 Navi 07 vs. 08 there are many differences), how you are paying (cash, loan, lease), and your usage. It made sense for us to wait and then get the best deal on the 08.
I continue to see how much the local market is influencing the pricing on the new cars. So in CA they are charging well over MSRP, while on the east coast they are at MSRP, just over, or maybe $500 under. Never really thought of it, but YOU CAN PLAY THIS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!!! We drove 1 1/2 hours each way to get the car, and saved big. The rural dealer we bought from had to take one EXL V6 Navi on his allocation from Honda, and I think he would have sat on the car if it wasn't for us. Depending on where you live, use the Honda website to locate dealers, and then go outside your local area to a place where you think they might have the car, but would not sell it because of their local market.
Aniously awaiting my 08!
George
Can you please email me the dealership's name and location. Thanks. QDOI@yahoo.com

as this in response to my question on what options to get for when I hit a standstill on price? I'm not sure what door edge guards are, but maybe I'll go with that rear view camera at least.
Do you know if this option can be put in an '07 Civic w/ Nav? That's the other car we're considering.
Again, the goal is to get the Civic around $19k OTD because I'm pretty sure I can get the Accord for under $24k out the door. At my current best price on the '07 Civic coupe auto w/ nav of $19,390 + dealer processing, tax, & tags, It's not worth it for me to get the Civic if I can do an '07 Accord for only $3500 more.

I already received internet quotes the first week for $1,000 under MSRP. You should use the link on the Honda web-site to get a quote from all Honda dealers in your area. Play the quotes off of each other and when you got a dealer who is willing to work with you, go face to face, tell him what color and trim level you want and that you're willing to wait for it to come in as long as he gives you the best deal. If not, you'll buy down the street.
If you have to have the first one they get on the lot, you will pay the price.
Most Honda dealers still have 90% 2007s for Accord sedans.
If you're willing to wait for it to come in, then obviously by definition, you're not desperate to get it ASAP.
I've found that some dealers are short-sighted in that if you don't want to buy a car that's on their lot right now, then they don't want your business. Other dealers have a more long-term view and realize that an easy sale down the road is beneficial to them, and they'll get the car you want added to their allocation.
You can't make a blanket statement that applies to all dealers. You have to shop around because dealers behave in a wide variety of ways.
The first ones probably will sell fast since they might only get one or two at a time the first few shipments.
If you must have one of those first few cars, you will pay premium for that.
Accord (22K MSRP) 24 months/36 months:
Altima (22K MSRP) 24 months/36 months:
I did not buy the car from that dealer. But the salesman figured out what the problem is. I am so not knowledgeable about car parts but here I go...
He tapped on the panel behind the seats (adjacent to the rear windshield) and was able to reproduce the rattle. Then he lifted open the trunk, and figured it is something coming from the trunk's ceiling. He held the part that was suspect with this hands, and asked me to tap on the panel. No more rattle. He said the service guy had it fixed.
Speaking of rattles, I cannot believe my 2007 Accord EX-L I4 Auto. It is rattle galore. I hear it from the back sometimes and then from the front. Really disappointed with the quality. I blindly thought Honda's are the best after reading all the user reviews. Lesson learnt.
All good things,
George
I am not sure if you are going to get a definitive answer one way or the other. To me, the incentives that are publicized/published are only an indication, who knows exactly what goes on behind the scenes between the manufacturer and the dealer.
I just bought a 2007 EX-L I4 Auto this week, because I needed one for next week. When I bought it, there were no incentives publicized on this model, but I got about $2500 discount below the invoice.
If you are not in a real rush, I would wait out or at least try to get the best deal out of these dealers.
I will be really surprised if the deals go down on the 2007 models. If anything, the dealers should be more desperate to get rid of them. On the flip side, you might not get the "exact" car you want because of fewer models in stock.

and "build" your car, with pricing.
Cheers,
George
You say you got a 2007 EX-L I4 Auto this week for $2500 below invoice. Edmunds lists the invoice as $22600, does that mean you paid about $20,100 for yours (plus TTL)? Thanks..
Anxiously awaiting delivery of my 08.
George
26800, and i'll work on the accessories I want (Rear Wing Spoiler and Camera) when it comes in as they have to be installed by the dealer anyway.
Can't wait... but i have to until Nov!
Pearl Blue is hot, what color interior did you order?
Later,
George

Hey George, I am in the same boat - Ordered my 08 I4 EXL Navi MT today, Pearl Blue.
26800, and i'll work on the accessories I want (Rear Wing Spoiler and Camera) when it comes in as they have to be installed by the dealer anyway.

It's in Royal Blue Pearl (though I like the Belize Blue Pearl better) it's only available in the coupe.
I put down a $200 deposit via credit card - no big deal.
I'm excited!
I just priced used 2002 and 2003 Accord LX automatics on KBB.com with the same mileage, 70,000 (there is no reason for mileage to be any different for the two model years in this scenario) and good condition and there was only $270 difference in trade in value between the two body styles. You should be able to get a new 2007 discounted several times that difference.
You should be able to get a 2007 today for a MUCH larger price difference compared to a 2008 than any resale difference will be.
So, no, you will not make up the extra cost of the 2008 with better resale value unless you overpay for the 2007.
2008 honda accord v6 4dr, sed ex-l

if you can would you please send me an email at pbraun3219@aol.com. thank you.
Just thought I would send out word to people for an EXL with automatic if they were looking.
Went to dealership yesterday to lease. Came to a price of 24062. Just got an email from another for 23,429. End of the month is a great time to buy!
So I will be leasing the 23429 car, 36 months, 15k per year. Depreciation is 62%, mf is .00285 as has been posted previously. I am putting 2k down to pay out taxes and fees. Lease payments are coming to about $319/mo
Hope that helps everyone.
Good Job!
You would be better off waiting until all the 2007s are sold and replaced with a full stock of 2008s.
