I have paid $200-300 more for the color (green metallic with gray interior) I wanted. Most of the dealers have cherry and silver color EX-L vans but not other colors like green,polished metallic...etc.
Bel Air Honda is getting the EX from another dealer and the splash guards and wheel locks are already on that car. How do I tell them I am not going to pay for those if they are already on the car?
Are there any other options worth getting considering I have a 3 yr old and a 7 mo old.?
Also is it worth getting an extended Honda waranty? If so, how much should I pay for that?
Actually the splash guards are a decent accessory. Wheel locks not so much. You can tell them you won't pay for them, but since the Odyssey inventory is so low now the dealer may tell you he won't give them to you.
As the previous posted indicated splash guards are a good option to keep the paint from getting chipped.
Regarding the warranty, search the web for HondaCare warranty. I paid $1295 from Bernardi in MA for the 8yr/120K no deductible warranty which I felt was well worth it because of all the technology and electronics in these vans. One problem could easily cost you $1500. However, I have the EXL w/Res so it adds the rear power tailgate, XM radio and DVD player which would be covered as well. It's really just a matter of preference as to weather you want to chance anything going wrong with it while you own it.
Well, $248 for splash guards and wheel locks is close to highway robbery. Tell 'em to reduce the price or remove the items.
Rubber floor mats (carpeted ones are standard) are a nice accessory. Also, depending on whether you expect to keep the third seat up or down, you might look at the cargo tray and mat accessories.
Can't see an extended warranty need on an EX. I mean, one of the main reasons folks buy Hondas is because they are reliable. On a NAV/RES vehicle, maybe, because there's some pricey electronics there.
How does financing work with internet deals? Does the fleet manager take care of that or do you still have to go through the finance department? I want to get the 2.9 % for 60 months on the 2010 odyssey and it looks like the best prices are found with the internet route.
Why give up the $1500 for the 2.9? If your credit is good enough for Honda's 2.9, you should be able to get a conventional loan for 4 percent or less (perhaps even less than 3 percent).
Also, because the $1500 is dealer money rather than a rebate, there's no sales tax on it.

I purchased 2010 White Touring for $35,810 + $199 Doc fee at Jay Wolfe. As you can see I deducted the doc fee from the final price of $36,000. Jay Wolfe and Frank Ancona Honda gave me the same deal. They both bid my trade $ 3,000 higher than the other dealers. I got 2.94% interest from Chase (60 Months) with excellent credit
Vic is internet mgr at Jay Wolfe and was great to deal with. Finance dept tried to get it all back but we fought through it and purchased nothing.
Did not go to Oneil Honda but was quoted $ 31,687 for EXL-Res in white.
Honda Of Tiffany Springs had every color in stock but would not deal.
When you say "31,000 - 32,000 Out Of Door for fully loaded EX-L". A fully loaded EX-L to me means with Nav & RES. Now I just picked up that exact vehicle but my OTD price included sales tax, doc fee. ect... $32k for an EX-L yes, no problem OTD for that. But add RES & NAV OTD with out a trade-in would easily be a couple grand more.
I have a quote for $28,500 + TTL for an EX-L WITHOUT Nav or RES. That seems like a great price, which I would have a hard time beating with a 2009 Odyssey. This is coming from Boch Honda in Norwood, MA.
Did you try weymouth honda? When I checked, they gave good price without any negotiation. I bought EX-L from Herb Chambers 2 months back for 29,500 OTD (including TTL)
Finally I made the deal. This site was very helpful to make the deal. Though i missed a good offer lastweek for EX-L (withoutRES) for 27856 & EX-L-RES 29448, I squeezed my budget this week and I was able to get a EX-RES for 26500 with Remote starter. This is in Central NJ and dealer located in Route 1. Overall the dealer is nice and knows how to treat a customer. I would recommend the dealer to anybody. Wish everybody good luck in buying.

I obtained a free CarMax appraisal of my trade-in which ended up being $2000 above the dealer's initial offer. I recommend everyone get your free 20-minute CarMax appraisal if you have a trade-in. After the dealer matched the CarMax offer and 2 hours of negotiating, we're more than happy to have gotten our EX-L R/N in the color we wanted which is in short supply (slate green/olive interior.)
Time to shop around for the Honda Care policy...... and of course, get my accessories off Ebay.

We also just bought in the Bay Area today. We ended up at South Bay Honda in Milpitas, got the EX-L with RES and Navi for $32,248 (including destination, but minus TT&L. They had some sort of $699 "Protection Package" on it which was basically just little plastic guards around the doors and fenders. This was after the internet salesperson swore up and down that there were no hidden costs (eyeroll). In any case, they honored the quoted price so I guess we got those little pieces of plastic for free. The person who we talked to over the phone wasn't in when we arrived, so we worked with a sales rep from the floor. Really nice guy. No problem with the price, just had to wait a bit to get in with finance for the paperwork. We didn't get any sort of hard sells on warranty, alarms or financing (we paid cash). Out the door was just under $36K and I got the Polished Metallic Metal color I had been looking for Still in denial about being a minivan mom though. Sigh.

The $1500 is dealer marketing support money from Honda. Most stores will pass this onto buyers, resulting in street prices well below invoice. It is not available if the buyer opts for low rate Honda financing.
Just email 6 to 10 dealers within 100 miles. Ask for their best price. You will quickly learn who will sell for less. And there is always someone who will.
The invoice price is not necessarily how much the dealer pays for the van, because the factory often gives them money to help sell cars. Please do your best to buy below invoice and you should be easily able to do that on 2010s. The factory is giving them $1500 which should lower your price by at least that much, and there is "dealer holdback." You can research that term if you like. If you are in Atlanta, I would at least get a price from Sunny King Honda in Anniston, Alabama, which you can use to buy there or try to get a match in Atlanta. Good luck.
I paid advance for EX-RES to a dealer. Waiting for my checks. Meanwhile can I ask him for EXL-RES before I pay the remaining amount on delivery date. I signed a paper and paid 1500 advance.

Autopark Honda in NC offered me lower than any other dealerships internet quote, including truecar. They also have the color we want in stock.

I got EXL W/O RES for $29500 OTD and I got my auto loan from 3rd party for 2.99% for 60 month. Is this acceptable? And this is in Little Rock, Arkansas.
If paying cash, what paperwork can I expect to fill out? I thought I could avoid the piles of paperwork from the finance manager, but have read about some people still being asked to fill out applications, etc, when buying with cash.
We just paid cash for ours, they made us fill out a little bit of the credit app, said it had something to do with the government and security. They asked for our SSNs for "identity verification", swore up and down that they wouldn't run our credit (we're in the middle of a home loan, I didn't want any requests on my credit). Lo and behold, when we got to the finance guy he presented us with our credit scores. Grr. Paperwork was quick though, in and out of the finance department in 15 minutes or so?

I took dealer financing at 3.9% because they matched what I was able to find from a 3rd party lender. I probably could have gotten a bit better rate, but I am not going to lose sleep over a point on a 5 year loan that I anticipate paying off early.
$281 a month (tax incuded) with $1085.00 at signing which composed of acquisition fee, DMV, and first month. 3 years 12K. Residual is $15723.00. Money factor was .00098.
I contacted dealers around St. Louis and the lowest price is 29,000 for standard EX-L. It seems too high because I see so many people here bought it with a much lower price. Anyone likes to share lower price information?
The lowest price I got for an EX-L No Nav No Res was 30,293 before tax, tags, and admin fee in the NC area. This includes the 1500 dealer incentive and does not qualify for special financing.
