    I haven't been tracking prices, so I can't help you with that. But a few observations:
    This car is at the high end of the mileage spectrum for the coupes. That would definitely account for a good chunk of any price difference.
    Have a mechanical inspection done, and focus on the brakes and rotors. Infiniti has a 36,000 mile warranty on the brakes, so you could have them fixed if you do it quickly.

    Depends on what region you're in. Up north in the winter the G35X was not getting discounted at all. Now that it's spring, the discounts might be comparable to the regular sedans, which are doing anywhere from invoice to $500 over (again, depending on region).
    FWIW, almost all car dealers have seen a significant slow-down over the last 2 months. My guess is that you've got some pretty good leverage, especially since you've got lots of dealer add-ons (XM, wood, splash guards).

    That's not a bad deal, depending somewhat on what region you're in. The coupe varies widely from West Coast to East Coast, and all in between. Be sure to ask about Infiniti's financing promotion. I think it's 1.9%

    The best deals I've heard on coupes have been $2000 or so under MSRP. In California many dealers are still selling for MSRP.

    It depends where you are. In Southern California it's not difficult to get a car like this for $200 over. As ever though compare out the door prices, not "over invoice". What lloks like a great deal can turn otherwise if you get stuck with a $500 doc fee.

    I'm in the Midwest Region, Ohio to be more specific. That was the dealers first offer, i'm sure I can negotiate more, but how much more i'm not sure.

    Well, I couldn't wait!!:) I bought the car on Saturday and I'm LOVIN' IT! The dealership had inspected the car, done the routine maint (oil change, rotation, etc.) and the car just looked and drove too good to pass it up. So, for an '03 Coupe with 25K miles, automatic, premium pkg, nav system & areo, I paid $30,000. Original MSRP was 37K. I'm over on the right coast (Richmond, VA). I'm supposed to bring it in around 30K for it's next service; in between that time, I will take your advice and get the brakes checked; if there is a problem, I will have them replaced at the 30K visit.

    Again, I am totally impressed with this car; incredible handling, awesome styling, and unlike most, I like the interior design, especially with the nav system. I'll keep you guys informed if I have any problems or questions. Thanks for the response.

    Why buy that one (or any one you are the slightest bit leery of) used when with the year end clearances out there you should be able to get a brand new one for only a few bucks more with year end clearances going on now. You should be able to get at least 4K off the sticker now. Edmunds may be behind the curve a bit.

    $4K OFF STICKER ON A COUPE!! They are still selling pretty close to sticker in my area. Now, the sedan is selling close to invoice, but I would love to know of ANYONE that got a coupe for anywhere close to invoice, let alone $4K off.

    And, as you can tell by my post #1275, the car is mine and I'm lovin' it and I was very satisfied with the price compared to other used coupes within a 200 mile radius. All of the used coupe with the options that I have were selling for about 32K-33K; but, keep in mind that most had between 8K-20K miles, and mine does have 25K. The dealership here in Richmond did a complete check up on the car and performed the required maintenance before I picked it up. I am going to have the brakes check next week; although they seem fine to me.

    In the market for a G35 sedan leather auto with sunroof. Trying to see if anybody has had any luck in the Portland, OR or Seattle, WA area.
    Debating if I'm better off negotiating via VPP or internet manager. Also, now with the recent announcements of the'05, any ideas around dealer incentives to clear out '04s. trying to figure out if I should I deal now or wait till July or August.

    Obviously the longer you wait, the worse your selections will be. I will be interested in your VPP price vs. normal negotiating. I am VPP eligible also. If the dealer doesn't know you are eligible for the VPP, you could negotiate your best price and if it appears to be higher than the VPP price, go with the latter.

    Both areas are notorious for lack of decent discounts on Infinitis. Just no competition! Try getting a few quotes from dealers in the SF Bay area. You could save thousands and getting the car shipped should cost less than $500.

    Hey im trying to make up my mind between getting either a 2001 or 2002 bmw 3 series coupe.....or getting the 2002 bmw 328 4 door sedan, or getting the 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe. I got a deal set, on the 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe with 15,000 miles.......fully loaded with all the options OTHER den the nevi. Comes with leather moonroof etc. Strait from the delaership. After alot of negotiating, i got the deal down too 26,800. My price range on the bmw's is about 25,000. What should i get regardless of price, and is this a good deal on the 2003 g35 coupe?

    According to Edmunds used car prices, the G35 should be around $32500 in your area. Infiniti G35 Coupes are one of the slowest depreciating cars on the market. That is a really good deal.

    went inquiring on lease prices at my dealorship this past week and the numbers they gave me where totally off the wall... I was so upset I just walked out and said I'll go buy some other car then.... with 2500 down for 39 months with 12K miles a year they said the payments would be 536 a month.... thats unheard of for a G sedan with premium package... was looking on the lease board as well as this board and there are people who have leases for 39 months with 15K miles for 370 a month with 0 down... oh well there loss.. I just thought I'd share how off some dealors can be...

    Working the numbers for a 2WD G35 Sedan with premium package only selling for $500 over invoice I get $406 over 39 months. This assumes minimum drive-off, 15000 miles a year and a 39 month lease. What you should do is decided what you feel a reasonable price for the car, research the money factor, residual and drive off fees. Then go to the dealer with this information and negotiate the deal from there. Leases is where a lot of dealers try to make their money because consumers don't, by and large, understand how they work.

    I'd go for the G35. BMWs over 3 years old have a triple whammy: high repair costs, high frequency of repair, and high maintenance costs. Even with an extended warranty, they can be a real headache. While you might get lucky, there's a good chance that you could spend a few thousand on maintenance and repairs over a couple of years. I'm a huge fan of BMWs, but that's always been a deal killer for me on the older ones.

    The G35 coupe still has 45k miles and 3 years of warranty. Plus, it's only had one year for the previous owner to screw something up. Plus, I've got a 2003 G35 coupe, and it's the best car I've ever owned (out of 3 BMW's, 2 Nissan 300ZXs, a Nissan 240SX, a Mazda RX-7, a Datsun 260Z, and numerous other well-loved sporty cars.)

    Does anyone have a feel on whether Infiniti will be changing its 2.9% financing in the near term. Plus, what’s the general thought about clearance sales on 2004 models. Did Infiniti dealers take any clearance actions last year?

    There was no clearance on the 2003 G35s last year other than 1.9% instead of 2.9%. Of course, dealers will give you a better deal on them but there was no cash back on them. There are rumours that the 2005 G35 models could be significantly more expensive than the 2004s. The 2.9% has been around for a while now. I wouldn't expect it to go for a while.

    Thanks for the information.

    Did Infiniti lower the interest rate on the G35x to 1.9% as a clearance incentive? I’ve never figured out why the 35x has a higher interest rate. This late in the year, one would think that Infiniti has reallocated its manufacturing to correspond with the demand.

    I've enjoyed reading past messages and have learned alot. I've used the info to secure a deal on an '04 G35 AWD Diamond Graphite/Willow sedan with Bose audio, sunroof, splash guards and a trunk mat (MSRP $34,570). I will be paying $31,750 plus $952 (3%) tax and $189 doc fee. (I'll be registering and titling myself here in SW Virginia since I am buying in Raleigh, NC.) The nearest dealer is about 2 hours away in Winston-Salem/Greensboro NC, but the deal and the specific car were better a bit farther away. Hate to pay big doc fee, but it was much less than the $389 and $495 quoted at two other NC dealerships. I was pleased to do all negotiations through email- much less pressure.

    I qot a quote from a dealer in So. Cal on an '04 G35 Sedan leather with premium package/full size spare MSRP $33,845. I was amazed he quoted $30,465 + ttl, $500 below invoice. I'll keep you guys updated if the deal goes through.

    That's pretty good but watch the OTD price. You should be paying sales tax, two thirds of one percent of the purchase price for registration, a $5 tire fee and $45 doc fee. Let us know how it goes.

    I was doing a inventory search on Infiniti's website and found two different Base MSRP and Desinatination & Handling charge for sedan.

    This is due to the recent price increase correct? Does it mean the car with the lower base MSRP and D&H is earlier built than the higher priced car?

    There's been 3 diffrent price increases on G35's since Jan 2004. First of all the D&H went up to $590 from $565 (I think it was $565). Then on April 1st the marketing assessment was scrapped and all the prices went up by 1.5% instead. On May 14th the sedan price was increased by $200 and the coupe by $250. Hope this helps.

    Thank you for all the replies. What I'm wondering is why do the dealer quoted the before increase price on post #1290. The current MSRP of G35 AT sedan w/Leather & premium package full size spare is $34,090. The MSRP he quoted was $33,845. Does that mean the cars on his lot before May 14 will have the old MSRP and new MSRP after May 14? I thought if there is a price increase it will reflect all the cars in stock.

    Dealers (in California at least and probably elsewhere) aren't allowed to reprice stock. Therefore, in theory, an Infiniti dealer could have 3 identical 2004 G35 sedans at 3 different prices! If you are interested in one particular car, as the dealer to show you the invoice. It will have the ship date on it.

    It's not an "ad", and I only posted it on two G35 forums. I received awesome service and wanted to pass the info on to those who were asking for help in negotiating a deal. What specifically causes you to doubt the validity of the service? You have absolutely no real information to make such a claim, which puts your credibility in question....

    In the process of soliciting bids for a 2004 G35x 4 Dr AWD with Sunroof and splash guard outside of the Pac NW. Wanted to get a sense of what people are paying or what to expect in either CA or NV. Are 2004 G35x still selling for $500 to 1000 over invoice or have the clearance deals kicked in to make room for 2005s. Just trying to get a sense of what to expect.

    XM radio
    34,100 plus about 2,000 for T.T.&L doc fee was $50. This was $1,200 under the TMV for the car, I think I got a great deal.

    Does it matter to most buyers (and people reading this Message Board) what color their G35 is? Dealers make you think it's no big deal and that it's the options and accessories that are more important. Kind of like, "you should be glad just to be driving one of these cars." They think you should just accept whatever color is available. I think exterior color matters. What are some opinions out there?

    While I am an engineer and am supposed to be strictly logical about such non-functional things as exterior color, I really enjoy the emerald mist color of my G35s. I am even pleased that it is discontinued and that I hardly ever see identical cars (to mine).

    While I will consider trading for an 05 sedan 6MT (after I am sure that Infiniti has fixed the chronic problems with the manual tranny synchronizers and the seats), I can only hope that Infiniti will offer a better selection of exterior colors.

    Regarding the prior post for color choice if you are buying the car and concerned about resale then it pays to think about your color choice. If you are leasing and do not plan to buy then you should choose any color that your prefer.

      For resale silver is the most popular color in the country right now and would do well for resale. After silver white or other light colors also would do well. The car looks fantastic in black and there should be a strong market for that color. I live in Florida and see many down here.

      For people that have had the courage to purchase the new FX or Murano in that pumpkin orange color good luck in selling it a few years down the road. You may lose about $1000.00 or more and it will definately take longer to sell.

    My advice would be go to Fields Infiniti of Glenview. The internet contact person there was quoting me $31,5 on the phone for the silver 4-dr auto AWD G35 with the weather pkg. They said they were getting a 30 car shipment in this month -- I know the 2-door ones are hard to find.

    I just an ad in todays paper (Raleigh, NC) for a 39 month lease on a G35 Sedan. Sign and Drive @ $349 month w/ 10k miles a year. Didn't give any indication of options/equiptment. I'm assuming it may just be the base model w/leather.

    Just picked up my Brilliant Silver/Willow G35x with Prem package and Splash. Paid $33,189 + TTL. Avoided a long drawn out negotiation at the dealership and dealt via email and phone instead. Thanks again for all for your help and advice. It really helped me out a lot, especialy instilling fear in the local dealers when I threatened to go all the way to California.

    Don't assume anything if the details aren't specified. At that payment, it probably assumes a $1-2000 cap cost reduction. I've seen lease ads quoted that said "plus sales tax" in the fine print. That could add another $20-30/month.

    I will purchase a G35x in August, and I will pay in cash. Do you know that I can get any extra discount for that? I am also looking at the Acura TL and took a test drive last week. I like the interior of TL, but the handling of G35 really attracts me.

    The dealer is going to get his money right away whether you pay cash or finance. He probably makes more money if he finances it. Other than saving an hours worth of paperwork time, there's not much incentive for the dealer to give a cash discount.

    Thank you for the reply. I thought I would get at least $500 cash incentive or some kinda discount if I pay cash. Well, I'll start to think about the finance or lease. Hope can get a good deal on G35x with premium Pkg. Do you know if Infiniti will have any incentive ,like the BMW did in June. I prabably buy a 2004 G35x in August or wait for the 2005 comes out. I still love the sweet TL, but the snow is very heavy in the winter of west Pennsylvania. That's why I'll get a AWD G35. I would get the TL in a heart-beat if they have the AWD option...sign:(...
