I am looking for 07 MDX in Atlanta and here is what I am able to get so far Base 38,000 Tech package will be 41,500 and for the Tech/Entertainment price is 44,663.00.
Hi cqzg: We live in the South Bay, and it would be great to have the name of your salesperson and the price point(in general if you can't be specific). Thanks!
High I have been shopping in the Baltimore Md area and I was quoted a price of $43600 for Tech /res including dest. There are doc fees but in md those fees are optional so why pay them.
In June/July I feel the price will be below 43K maybe even 42K with the new Toyota Highlander (bargaining chip) coming out. I had informal talks (bar-lunches) with an Acura rep and they are sorta worried about the effect of the new Highlander and redesigned Pilot.
I am in the Baltimore area as well. One dealer quoted 42.3K for tech/res including dest via email, no haggle. Most other dealers are not as willing to give quotes via email which I find annoying to say the least.
I have a Costco quote for $500 below invoice but the guy won't tell me what his "invoice" is. The dealer is in DC so I haven't had the energy or inclination to drive >1hr just to look at a price sheet. If true, that would around 41.5 to 42K for tech/res package.
I have friends around the country (Boston, Denver) that have recently purchases MDX with tech/res. Usually you can get at least 3K off MSRP.
I've been looking for a base MDX for a few weeks. The 'best' dealer quote I've got so far - without ANY dealer installed stuff - out the door is $38,435. (there's no sales tax in OR)
Can you post which dealer you got the quote from? I live in Salem and interested in the base MDX too. Ye, not many folks here are from Oregon. I wonder if we can get a real good deal as those guys got on the east coast.
I agree - looks like those deals on the east coast you read about on this board is far better than anything I'm able to get here in the Pacific NW.
Anyhow - the dealer is Acura of Portland. Go to their web site, request an online quote - then haggle from there - good luck! http://www.acuraofportland.com
Anyone bought a MDX w/ Tech in NYC recently? I am going to purchase one and would like to know where I should start when I contact a dealer. Any information is appreciated.
I am shopping for MDX with tech at Baltimore, MD as well. I think that by July paying invoice should be a reality. Did anyone got any info if there will be low interest for Memorial day or 4th of July?
I was test driving an MDX today in Baltimore also(Ellicott City), and asked the sales person the same question. He said that they never know about any special deals until the day before its publicly advertised.
Hi cqzg. I called Hopkins Acura today, and talked to a fleet salesman who thought he sold to the person who posted on Edmunds. He said that they don't sell at or below invoice. I also contacted the fleet manager at Los Gatos Acura, and she said that they could go $500. over invoice. Do you think hat sounds like it is a good price? - is that comparable to yours? You are right that no salesperson's name is allowed, but you can give the price info.. Thanks for any info..
The saleperson who sold me car has the first name starts with "J". He is a very nice person. I cannot be too specific on the price as he preferred not to disclose. The sales price on the vehicle is very close to the invoice. I also ordered roof rack, auto dimming mirror, side molding, all weather mat and wheel locks. I know he made some money on the accessories and I figured that it is may be the reason that he is will to go low in the vehicle.
I also talked to Los gatos acura, and gave her what I agree with Hopkins acura (vehicle + accessories). She said it was a very good deal and she could not match it.
During my hunting, I also contacted various other local dealers, Marine Acura cannot match hopkins' price, but willing to go 300-500 above invoice. Oakland agrees to go 700 above invoice for the vehicle (including all-weather mat and wheel locks).
Pleasanton quote was high and the internet sale was not eager to deal. The first quote from autowest acura is $900 above invoice, I think you can get it down more. Concord acura had one of the highest quote, and was not willing to deal at all. All dealers (stockton and etc.) responded too late.
Please go to their site: www.hopkinsacura.com, select "our staffs", the salesperson is the last one in the pictures. The price I paid for the vehicle is very close to invoice, plus $$ for accessories. Details can be found my message #4607.
Thanks cqzg - all the time you put into your search helped us to focus on our search! We have a reversal however - Los Gatos is going lower than the Hopkins fellow right now, perhaps an inventory issue. Meanwhile, I am going to contact Acura customer service to see if the power liftgate might be standard on 08s, as I don't want to get the entertainment pkg. just for this option. Thanks again!!
Who do you write to, at Acura Customer Service? I want to write to them, too, to let them know that I'd like to have the power liftgate (standard or option) and NOT the RES. If they don't offer it, I might consider some other vehicle. Thanks, - MS.
That's a little high i think, 'coz the side step is about $800 installed. for the vehicle, you are paying 45200. I believe invoice + destination is about 44000, so your price is at about 1200 above invoice.
How much research / haggling did you do? Did you shop between dealers, or just walked in one? It could be the price in your area tends to be high ... your judgment.
I see posters in here stating purchase price at 500-800 above invoice.
But still congratz and be glad that you're getting a great car!
I've just recently collected a handful of quotes for the MDX with the technology package. So far, the best price appears to be $40,825. Has anyone in the orange county area found better deals?
Anyone have experience in Northern VA with purchasing an 07 MDX? I got a quote from Pohanka Acura $41600 for the TECH pkg which the salesperson said was the "Cosco price". Which isn't bad-roughly 2500 off MSRP, but still @ 1500 over invoice. I would think I could get it for @500 over invoice. Anyone?
Costco pricing info I got from other dealer in D.C. is also 1500 over invoice, which is not that good. I think all the dealers have a fairly large inventory right now so you should be able to get close to invoice, or at least 500 at a minimum esp on the tech models. I think for the MDX with tech a reasonable range would be around 40.2k.
Tiffanys, from what I've been able to find out by research, the rule of thumb is from $200-500 over invoice you're getting a good deal. So, the closer you can get to $500 the better. Although most of the Acura dealers have a good stock of MDX's, the vehicle has been receiving lots of positive press. Which, in turn increases demand, which pushes the amount over invoice a dealer is willing to sell up. You may be able to get that lower during the last few days of the month as the dealer is pushing to get their numbers in. Also, as the summer moves on and we get closer to the '08's coming, the more willing dealers are to sell closer to invoice. I would think if you can get them to sell at $42,395 that would be good, but that's just one persons opinion.
I really like the MDX and have test drove it twice. A great car and I am still on the fence with my decission!!! What I don't like is the "simulated koa wood-grained trim". It just looks so fake to me. I guess the other problem I have is with the stero. I listened to the upgraded one that comes with the technology package and I must say that I am not that impressed. I know it it will play DVD-A (which I own none) but the radio sounds like some the cars I had 20 years ago. Is it just me???
Again, don't get me wrong, for the money I still think this is one of the best bets out there and I may be driving one myself. I just got my wife the Volvo xc-90 fwd. I really like that car as well. However, if I was to upgrade that car to AWD, a bigger engine, navagation and rear dvd, the price would be far north of the mdx price even with the 3k cash back Volvo is offering.
One question for those of you have the Rear DVD. I saw some poster mention that you can only listen to the Rear DVD via the headphones and it will not play through the speaker system. This can't be true???
Yesterday, we just bought our MDX tech/ent @ Acura at Oxmoor (Louisville, KY). We got a GREAT DEAL! We made an offer by email of invoice including roof rails & cross bars. They asked us to come in to work with them a little. I knew that we would not get it for that price BUT... Let me say that we walked out with a better deal than I imagined we would. None of the regional dealers offered anything close to what we got. The experience was great and I would refer anyone to check them out.
Hi, just checking to see if anyone is dealing in Dallas Fort Worth. So far, it seems like the no-haggle opening discounts are $2,000 off MSRP for the tech package, this amounts to about $1,600 over invoice. I have not made any counter offers so far.
If it's "GREAT DEAL", can you post the price paid ???. These days dealers are smart enough to convince you that it's a great deal when it's not. Example - Making money off accessories, ripping you off with finance APR or making money off of trade-in.
If you offered invoice price and the actual deal was even better, then it's below invoice which I haven't see anybody get yet and you are not even in East Coast (That's where people are getting the best prices these days).
You sound more like a dealer than a buyer !!. Convince me otherwise !. If you did get it, You are a smart shopper and may be even lucky.
I am looking for a MDX sport w/roof rack and chrome side steps. I'm in PA (Phila suburbs). I have a trade - 2005 MDX premium (not touring, has no add-ons) that has 22,500 mi on it.
Does anyone have an opinion on what a good overall deal (price and trade) would be? I checked KBB trade value in good condition and it says $26,300. Is it reasonable to shoot for $43,000 for the 07 described above and $26,000 for the trade or is that just not likely?
Try Vandergriff Acura in Arlington - they quoted me a no-haggle price of $3000 below MSRP. I told them I'd decide at the end of the month - and they keep asking me to come down. If thats a good deal for you, go for it! Let us know how you like the vehicle. Personally, I am OK with waiting a month or 2 for the price to come down - ahhh the joy of car shopping when you are not in a hurry to buy a car "today". Best wishes, - MS.
I knew we wouldn't get it at invoice (that was expected) my concern was that the only real deals I saw listed on this site was on the EAST COAST. We paid invoice + $1000 and this included destination in addition to the roof rails & cross bars. No other dealer in the area came close to this...even Superior Acura in Fairfield, Ohio which is where we have purchased a vehicle before.
Just bought a MDX 2007 with Tech package from Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda MD. $500.00 over invoice, no trade no add on options. Also had the same offer from Radley's Acura in Northern Virginia. We did try to get the vehicle at invoice price and they would not do it. $500.00 seems to be the lowest they will go.
I dont have a good theory, but here's the logic of what I feel - as pressure building up for Acura sales by the month:
April: They reported a loss of sales number (don't ask me for references, I read it somewhere on these forums), so I guess the novelty was/is wearing off.
May: 2008 Buick Enclave CXL will cause a dent in their sales - MDX give 17/22mpg on premiums, the lambdas are at 16/22mpg on regular - costwise about the same. Everybody wants a new MY vehicle, other things being comparable.
June: Gas prices might rise for summer (I hope not). If it does, sales of gas guzzling SUV's will slow down even more.
July: 2008 Highlander will cause more dents in sale - it's expected to have a better mpg number (19/24), too.
August: Lot clearance time - make space for 2008 Acura's
My logic is that the more we wait now, the more aggressive deals we can expect to get from the dealers. Personally, I will be happy if I get $500 over invoice. Best wishes to you for your purchase, - MS.
Buick isn't even in the same playpen as Acura. And as far as gasoline prices go, I don't know many people looking at $40,000-$50,000 luxo SUVs who obsess over gas costing them an extra few hundred dollars a year.
Deals on the MDX will get better because interest always slows on new models as the novelty wears off. It doesn't mean a guarenteed invoice price deal by year's end though. The market you are in and the supply/demand will still be a factor.
Basic or Tech? My 2 cents is at least get the Tech. Acura's navigation system is being praised to be the best. Why get an Acura if you're not getting a feature that it excels in? Also, with the Tech, the sound system is upgraded to ELS (custome-designed system). Even with the ELS, some people still complain about the system being not as good as other luxury cars. The Basic probably comes with a very basic sound system.
Tech or Sport? How do you drive your car? Do you need superior suspension system? Do you like sportier-looking wheels?
Just bought my Silver/Ebony MDX 2007 yesterday with Tech + Entertainment and Protection Package (costs about $450 MSRP and apparently added by all North West dealers to sweeten their profits) from Acura of Seattle for $43,100.00 (price exclusive of tax and licensing). Very clean & courteous dealership and friendly associates but I hated that they (and all dealerships in the area) are imposing the Protection Package on you. Plus, there seems to be no documentation on what the protection package has and one only has to go by what the dealers guys tell you.
We tried negotiating with the Bellevue dealership but they were cocky and uninterested. Wanted us to share my SSN and DOB before they would even give us a final number. Baddddddd experience...
Has anyone else bought from a NW dealer? What was the price?
Comments
Why would anyone charge 500 for doc fee. It should be less than 300.
I am looking for 07 MDX in Atlanta and here is what I am able to get so far

Please make your email public so that I can PM you. no sale person name is allowed on the forum, right?
Would like to compare notes as I am not in a hurry either. I figure the hotter it get the more the price comes down.
Can we post private email addresses here?
Thanks,
Tiffany

I got a quote of $500. over invoice from Los Gatos Acura, internet sales. They were very direct and pleasant. Good luck!
Oh by the way, it is a SWEET ride. :shades:

I am still targeting July and looking for a tech/res at invoice or less.
I say let the dealer sweat the month end numbers and I get a better deal.

I am assuming that that translates to around 41K?

I got a quote 45+ change on road for Tech pkg though does not look attractive.Hoping I can start bargain from there.
Also I was wondering if I dont travel lot out of town does Tech pkg make sense is 3,500 addition from Basic worth for the features?
What you guys here think.
