Does anyone know if the $4k and the .9% financing is still available?
  • verbearverbear Member Posts: 4
According to Edmunds, the 4k and .9 financing has expired yesterday. I'm wondering if they just take a couple of days to come out with the "new" incentives.
  • andywuweiandywuwei Member Posts: 26
check acura.com, their .9% APR incentive for 08 MDXs extended to 12/1/2008.
  • rdriverrdriver Member Posts: 5
I sealed the deal at $39700 including all the documentation fees and additional 2 years of extended warranty. The color combo is the one that we preferred, so we are generally happy about the transaction. Do you think this was a good deal?
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
rdriver, yes, you did. Now go enjoy that new ride!
  • jacobmjacobm Member Posts: 15
I see edmunds put them both back on but it does say they can't be combined. We shall see. Now I need to find a decent dealer with the car I want.

    speedy33,

I purchased from Montclair Acura which is in Verona, NJ. Their Internet/Email Sales department is super helpful and responsive.

    Hi all,

    Thanks,
    hari
  • sanjaysdcasanjaysdca Member Posts: 269
That is way TOOO high.. Where are you located? Is this for 2008 or 2009 model?

    For 2008:
    Invoice is 42091
    less 4000 incentive = 38091
    Sport running board 439 = 38730 (Hondaacura world.com)
    Labor for installing board 200 = 38930 (2 hr at 100/hr)
    Destination 760 = 39195

This is where I will start... if not lower.
Depending on where you are you might get lower.

Here is south cali people have bought 2008 sport ent for 40K including destination
  • lewis3lewis3 Member Posts: 25
The best price I have been able to get is $1,500 off of MSRP. They have sold all of their incomming stock. It would be for a car built January 10 and delivered January 25. If I could get a price less than $44,000 for the tech I would pull the trigger.

I love and hate these chat rooms in regards to pricing. I like to know what other people are paying so I know where to begin my negotiations but I hate to hear that someone got a better deal.

I think I will wait a couple more weeks and try the process with the dealers again and see if I can get closer to my price.
  • mattsammattsam Member Posts: 25
    Yes I know,
    It is a 2008
    Here is the deal
    Sport model
with PWR Tailgate (I think $42,368 is invoice)
    add all weather mats
    add Cargo Tray
    Add Towing package
    Add Sport running boards

    $42,250 with .9% financing 1k deposit

Done at that- in the color interior and exterior wanted

    Enjoy the car...

Money/deal are just an enabling agents for you to enjoy...
As long as you are happy.......

    Hari,

That seems like a good price. I am trying to buy a 2008 Tech + PT and I have been given a price of $36,900 but the dealer will not go lower than that. I am getting that price from several dealers in the San Diego area.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
cbad, you should be able to buy an '08 tech/ptg for just under 36G (including dest.) plus ttl. If it is doesn't have any other extras added (which is the way I recommend buying them) I would give him an offer of $36,000 to include dest. & all doc/adm fees. All you pay on top of that is tax and title. He should take it.
  • sanjaysdcasanjaysdca Member Posts: 269
    cbad,
It is somehow very difficult to get san diego dealers to deal.

I bought mine 08 Tech + PTG in early sept for 35.7K including destination (38.8K OTD)

I got best deals from orange county & LA...They were all withing 200 of each other. San Diego dealers were way off...

So my advise is to go to orange county and buy...

    I am looking to lease an 09 MDX Tech/Ent package. i want a 36 mon 12kyr.

the prices i am getting are MSRP 47,350 - The $4000 dealer incentive. bottom line leasing the car for $43,350 or $686 + tax(fl).

please tell me is this the best i am going to do?
  • kevin34kevin34 Member Posts: 42
Are they offering the $4k dealer incentive on the '09's???
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
Kevin, according to the info on Edmunds they are not offering it on the '09's. I would think it would be counter productive, since there are so many dealers still trying to clear out '08's. If you local dealer doesn't have an '08. I would get on the internet and look around. Good luck.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
Sedermo, if you can find a Tech/Ent/PTG in an '08 you should be able to buy it for around $38,000 plus TTL. I do not think there is any difference from an '08 to an '09. The $43,350 price you have been quoted is just the amount the dealer is discounting off the car's MSRP, there is no factory money in that price. The invoice for that MDX should be around $43,000. Plus he gets his hold back money.

Has anyone ever successfully dealt with Acura of Ocean in NJ? They have the 08 I am looking for, but, they are such jerks. If you did buy from them, what worked?
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
ejoy, I would go to their website, find their internet sales person and do all you negotiations via the internet. Review a few of the posts on this thread, you should get a good idea of what you should be able to buy the 08 MDX for.
I think the internet cuts out all the BS you have to deal with at the store. Good Luck
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
ejoyce, if you would post your results if you pursue the '08 MDX via the internet. Would be interested in seeing the results. Again, you should be able to gather enough pricing info, by reviewing previous posts. One other thing I recommend is to give your offer minus any dealer added accessories/options. If they have already added any of those items, go to: www.acurapartssuperstore.com and find out what you can buy the accessory for from them. I would not offer more than what you can buy it from another store. Most of the dealers use these add-ons as a way to make some easy money from the buyer. To be honest, most of these are simple DYI items you can install yourself. Good Luck.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
ejoy, just for kicks I googled their website. They have their inventory listed, find the '08 you are interested in and when you make your offer use the VIN number listed on their website. That way there is no confusion about which MDX you are interested it.
Also, when you make your initial contact from the "contact us" screen, make it clear that you wish to be contacted only by email and they are not to call you. Again, good luck.

    I just bought an 08 MDX Tech\ptg + tow & cross bars. MSRP = $46k. I paid $35K

Consumer reports has great car value reports. Acura has $4k a manufacturer to dealer incentive until Dec 1 on 08s
  • martin061680martin061680 Member Posts: 7
I live in Illinois and as far I know, there is only about ten 2008 MDX's still sitting in the dealerships... Problem is, that dealers won't give up the $4000 rebate anymore( I was offered 38,000 plus destination on the Tech/Power lift model)... Is that a fair deal?
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
woteva, was that New or did it have miles on it? If that was a brand New '08 with no miles on it, that is the lowest price I have seen anyone post for a New Tech/PTG, not even counting the value of the tow pkg and cross bars. If you got all that for 35K, you got a heck of deal. Good Job.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
martin, you should be able to get an '08 Tech/PTG for $36,000, including dest.
If your local dealer will not meet that price, get on the internet and expand your search a couple hundred miles, there are lots of '08's still out there. It doesn't really matter where you buy it, any dealer will take care of warranty issues. Good Luck.
  • jacobmjacobm Member Posts: 15
Thanks for all the help and advice..
    I got mine 08 mdx tech-ent $38,800 + tax and title

Thanks again, I am so glad this is over!
  • darkqdarkq Member Posts: 6
How about the price of 08 MDX based model. I am looking for it. But the price dealer give me is still around 35k.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
I would offer him $33,000 and that price should include dest. fee and all doc/adm. fees. The only amount you should pay on top of that is tax and title. Offering them an "all inclusive price" is the easiest way to keep yourself from getting overcharged for the fees dealers used to put money in the deal.
Doc fees, prep fees, adm. fees, etc. You simply give them the max. amount you are willing to pay and let them write it up however they want.
The bottom line is the price of a '08 MDX Base should be a little under $33G with their 4G factory incentive money.
If they have added dealer accessories, go to one of the Acura on-line parts websites and see what you can get the access. for on-line, I would never pay more than those amounts, which are usually about 25% off MSRP. Good Luck.
  • wotevawoteva Member Posts: 7
It had 7 miles on it. They had 54 MDXs in the lot. 7 Techs ptg. It helps if you go to a dealershi with lots of inventory.
  • wotevawoteva Member Posts: 7
No way. Acura extended the rebate until Dec 1. They (dealer) are gonna get $4k, so they should pass on the savings to you. Also, the dealer holdback is $1500. Don't pay that. You should be able to get a 2008 MDX Tech ptg for no more than 35-36k. Look at the inventory of other dealers in your area. Go to the one with the most cars in the lot and also, deal with the internet sales folks. They usually give you a good price off the mark. The guys on the floor are used to unknowledgeable folks walking in and paying retail.
  • ejoyce423ejoyce423 Member Posts: 42
Please tell me what dealerships this is! I would love to pay that price but have been unable to find an 08 tech ptg with ebony interior. I live in NJ.
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
woteva, that is a great deal! 35K for a Tech/PTG without any add-ons is the lowest I have seen posted on this thread. Plus, on top of that the MDX rails, crossbars, and (factory) tow pkg would cost about $880 more, even at a 25% discount off MSRP, not including installation.
So congratulations, that is a smoking deal. Unless there is some additional help (move than the 4K) coming from the factory, your dealer went pretty deep into their hold back money and IMHO that is a sign of desperation when they do that. So others take notice in your negotiations.

What did they charge for your doc fee? or other fees? Just wondering where else they tried to put some profit in the deal.
  • darkqdarkq Member Posts: 6
    To Woteva,

where are you? I would like to buy a MDX basic from your dealer! (currently, my local dealers are out of MDX basic) Can I buy and ask them to ship to where I live? Thanks!
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
darkq, google "auto shipping" there are several sites that will give you 10 quotes via email. You will have a lot of replies, so don't do it unless your serious, consider that your warning before you do it. You would be surprised how cheap you can get a car moved.
I almost bought a new car about 1000 miles from me and was going to have it shipped. The dealer was going to overnight the paperwork to me and I was going to email it back.
  • gurmgurm Member Posts: 27
Wow....you got heck of a deal.......Where did you get you MDX tech pckg + PTG from for 35k???? I am in Seattle & would be even willing to drive if target dealership is close by....let me know...I might but this or next weekend.....Thanks man
  • verbearverbear Member Posts: 4
I live in Chicago and bought an 08 MDX with Tech/PTG from Pauly Acura in Highland Park on Saturday. I paid $36,500. I'm pretty sure I could've got them to go lower, but I said what the hell. They still had 3 left, so you should be able to go there and get a decent price.
  • gurmgurm Member Posts: 27
One of the dealerships here offered me final price of 38..5k on a 2008 Acura MDX Tech package with PTG....he said he's only making $500.00 by doing so which doesn't sound true to me after reading your posting. How did you come up with 36.5 finally, I mean what kind of incentives etc...let me know so I could talk him into it. He mentioned invoice of 41.8k & thus 4000 off to 37.8k, then if he made 500 dollar profit, it would be around 38.5 which he mentioned would be the final price at 2.9%.
Look forward to an explanation from you guys...thanks....& congrats to those who got good deals...Cheers!

Pacific Northwest. Seattle Acura has 48 MDXs Portland Acura has 50 MDxs. The price of gas is still pretty high here so SUVs are not moving.
  • wotevawoteva Member Posts: 7
the only fee I paid was the delivery fee and the license and title. I fought all the other fees. dealership advertising - no. gas fee - heck no. wholesale finance charge - no. doc fee - no. the doc fee is for paperwork that they do beyond license and registration. why would I have to pay for that? I paid for license and registration. that's all the paperwork I should pay for. anything beyond that is the responsibility of the dealer to pay for - not me.

  • jstbghtmdxjstbghtmdx Member Posts: 3
I used this forum to set a target price for me, so wanted to share the price I paid. I just bought 08 MDX with Tech for $35.5k. No accessories. Excludes taxes, title fees (~$60) and $385 processing fee. I know I overpaid the processing fee because another dealer was ready to make the deal without the $385 processing. I liked the color in this dealer. I recommend you start your offer lower, no more than $35k and maybe even slightly lower, because both dealers jumped to my offer without any back and forth - partially my goal in setting the price higher than the lowest I saw on this forum.

Another dealer offered $35,700 for 08 MDX Tech+PTG. Also excluding $385 processing fee. I actually would go for this, but they said it was sold out before I acted on it.

I used the 0.9%, 36 month financing for the car...

I am in search for a 2008 MDX (Tech pack + ptg). Anyone got a good deal in Ohio?
    Any info is appreciated. Thanks!!
  • mdxrrrrrmdxrrrrr Member Posts: 42
jstbght, so your "all inclusive price" was $35,885 plus tax and title. That is a good deal. Right there with the best that have been posted. Sounds like you did a good job of focusing on the total amount of money you were paying, not just the price of the MDX. Thanks for sharing.

We just bought a 08 MDX Tech @ $35.5K+$156 dealer fee. We also bought a rear DVD entertainment system from the dealer @ $1400. Thanks very much for the information posted on this forum.

    tehbouncer1,

If you put your e-mail in your profile, I can pass along info for the MDX. I just purchased one in Central Ohio this past weekend. There was one more MDX available, but it didn't have ptg. I believe they had one more that had the sport, if you're willing to pay more for that one. Many thanks to this board - I got just over $36K for the MDX Tech.
