I just read some of your earlier posts and felt compelled to put in my .02.
What you went through on your dealership visit is exactly the reason why people are going internet...that type of situation is a dying breed but it obviously still exist.
I don't know exactly where in Nevada you live but you should put in some internet quotes to dealers in a 200-250 mile range and you would be amazed on how much money you can save...if you are a close drive or plane hop to Central California i.e. the bay area you may want to check them out...now I know what you are saying...why do we have to go so far to get a good deal? I'm afraid there is no easy answer to that...except to say....how much money do I want to save by going out of my immediate area? case in point....I drove 200 miles to save over $1300 dollars on my deal....it was a nice pleasant road trip...not to long...made a day out of it....it was great...I know Las Vegas is about 350 miles from San Diego but the best deals that I have seen on this board are coming from two places in this country...and that is either NJ or Cali...more specifically the bay area...
If it was me...go back through this board and look at the posts that are coming in from the bay area...rock bottom pricing! To me...if I had a trade I would drive to get a great deal...if you have no trade...a quick hop on Southwest ($50 one way) and your in the bay area....would I do this to save $100 bucks...no way! would I do this to save $1000/2000/3000 bucks...you bet...but that's me...do the internet quote thing...put contact by email only...and if they call you...don't respond unless they give you a rock bottom price...if you send out 10 internet quotes...about 7 will be valid...the other 3 will be bogus and you just have to weed those out...
Good luck...be patient...your the boss, you have the $$$ and they want your business....now is the time to buy...prices are low, but inventory is running out as well...good luck!!! let us know what happens!!
Happy Motoring!!!
Honda is offering a new $1,800 "incentive" to all dealers for EX and higher trim models. The dealer will deny this since this is not public knowledge. When you negotiate be firm and demand that the dealer give you a portion of this "incentive".
The Pilot is facing healthy competition from Jeep, Nissan Pathfinder and in 6 monhts the newly designed Santa Fe. Shop around, be firm and you should get a good deal.
I thought the marketing incentive (factory to dealer incentive) is $1,000. When did this change, Edmunds still has it at $1,000.
just a dumb question, does anyone know what steps involve in purchasing a car in NEW JERSEY, if you live In PENNSYLVANIA? Thanks

the tricks, Low ball quote to get you in, under value your trade etc. Stay away, you have been warned.
Also, I know the 2006 are due to arrive in September. I don't absolutely need my car right now. I could wait a few weeks. Do you think they will have better deals in August, in preparation for the 2006s? Once the 2006 come out will all the incentives and good deals shift to the 2006s in September, and will I still be able to get a good deal on the 2005?
I'm so afraid to buy right now, only to have the price go down in the next month or two. but then again, I'm afraid they won't extend this same offer to me because all the deals will shift focus to the 2006.
Do you think I should wait? Do you think I could get a better deal next mont, or in Sept, or at the very least the same deal? I just would hate to miss the deal to only have it go up, but then again what if it goes down. ARGHHH!!! :confuse: What would you do?
Thank you so much for your advice.

Is this a good deal?
I have ever leased before and don't know what a good deal is. I can't find
a lease calculator where you have to pay the tax in full up front like you do
in Illinois.
Please Help

I am now on a search for a DVD system to be installed. I went to Best Buy today and their installers said they could not install a roof mounted system. Has anyone else had a dvd system installed aftermarket in which they can recommend system and store/chain who installed it?
we all know that lease monthly payment depends upon:
a)purchase price - set by a dealer;
b) residual value -set by a bank
c) money factor - set by a bank.
These days there are offers to buy "nearly new" cars with ~ 200 miles for the price
~ $26,000 vs "brand new" $30,000.
However, both parameters b) and c) are the same.
Total lease amount falls down to $6000 instead off 10000.
Here is my question:
does that mean that I can get MUCH better lease deal on "nearly new" vs "brand new"? What if a dealer's is willing to SELL the car to ME at $26000, but is looking for $30000 from the bank if I need to lease?
$26,931 -
1,516 - Tax
100 - Doc Fee
515 - Dest
322 - NJ DMV
29,484 - Total OTD
That was when there was $1,000 incentive from Honda to the Dealer out there. Not sure what is there now. (Heard that it might be more now)
Bottom line is it only takes a few minutes of your time to go to the Honda website and request a quote. The two most competitive dealers I dealt with were Academy Honda (Old Bridge NJ) and Honda of Essex (West Caldwell NJ)
Ok, you call it used, what price do you consider used? $.50/mile driven? 100 miles x $.50 = $50.00. Take $50 bucks off the price.... is that reasonable?
In the scheme of things, 100 miles or 10 miles or 50 miles, not going to matter 5 years from now whether it has 75,000 miles or 75,100 miles or 75,050 miles....
Most incentive deals and leases are good until 9/6/05...and that is because right around that time is when the 06's will be loaded on trucks for delivery...
So you know what they say...move your feet, loose your seat....
The latest I would wait would be until the end of this month...but as you can tell from this websites, the vehicles are flying off the lots at a record pace....your deal already sounds fair....you might get a couple hundred bucks off at the end of the month....but the longer you wait...the less selection....
roll the dice...I can tell you that when the 06's come out...all bets are off for incentives and record deals....and why should they continue....it's a new model year...
Sage color
EX- leather
For $27,500.00 to $28,000.00 Freight included..
thank you
I noticed they have %1000 dealer-manu. incentive and 3.99% financing available until beginning of Aug.
Im out to buy one this week and need to get my figures straight before I go to the sharks.
I lived in Framingham, MA and paid $27,500 for an 05 Pilot EX-L. Two dealers were willing to offer that price. Not sure if you're looking at the EX or EX-L but it may be worth the drive.
Good Luck!
I paid $27,500 in Massachusetts in June for an EX-L. I saw an earlier post where they paid $26,900. Two dealers offered me the same price. I definitely think you should be able to get the price.
Good Luck!
