I thought I had this moonroof noise from reading this board. It turned out they put the crossbars on the roof rack on backwards. Apparently there is a wrong way. I just drove on an 8 hour trip each way with the new pilot, going 80-85 on I 94 and no noise.

I paid 26, 500 with no extra fees except less than 100 dollars for misc. document things at Hopkins Honda in the Minneapolis area. This did not include the extras I added and tax and license etc. I also got sagebrush pearl. They appeared to have a good selection, but I think I bought the last one. I was told they could get another one in a few weeks, if I didn't buy the one they had. You might want to consider Amazon green. I know they had at least one of those. We also really liked that color, tough choice. Good luck.

I have been waiting for this month to come and hoping it would payoff with good deals. Has anyone talked to a dealer yet for August promotions?
  • easttleasttl Member Posts: 17
I just talked to a dealer last night and was told that the August promotion is based on volume sales. A dealer with a higher sales volume get more back from the factory. The top tier is 3000 back from the factory to the dealer, this is good throughout August. Hope this helps.
  • mcdermott2mcdermott2 Member Posts: 68
That appears to be the same as last month. I am looking to lease and wonder if those deals will come down. My brother-in-law leased an EX for $1000 TOP and $331 per month in March. Impossible to get now.
  • carl18carl18 Member Posts: 2
That sounds like the manufacturer to dealer incentive which was offered through the end of July. Does anyone know for sure if the same deal is being offered through the end of August? Thanks!
  • mjjpowermjjpower Member Posts: 12
I am wondering if anyone knows who does the most volume in the Northwest? I am amazed at how hard it is to get a good deal in Western WA. We want a 2WD and they are harder to come by but the dealerships we have been talking to will not give competitive quotes...in fact in Bremerton we can't even get a quote! I heard the 2007's will be out in a few weeks, is this true? As it stands we are making plans to go to Oregon or CA in order to get a decent deal. :(

From which dealership did you end up purchasing?

I would love to patronize my local dealership like you did(so my city gets more tax dollars - but I'm not yet sure if they'll cut a deal).

    Thanks.

My husband just put a deposit down on a Sage Brush Pearl 4WD '06 Pilot EX-L (no Nav or RES) w/ running boards which we got for $27,450 (includes destination, TT, and documentation fees.) He spoke with about four or five dealers in the area and Jay Honda ended up giving us the best deal. We were fortunate in that we weren't too picky about color (no black or white, but anything else was okay with us.) My husband wants to sell my '03 Acura ourselves, but if they would give us $13K for trade-in, it could be worth it, especially since it would give us a sales tax savings of about $877. We also decided to take advantage of the 2.9% financing since it was too good to pass up.

Oh My God! I was looking for a new Pilot same model! I live in Old Bridge and just started looking, could you possibly tell me who was your sales person?
  • azjimazjim Member Posts: 5
That deal isnt bad at all. I just bought an 06'EX 2wd in Phoenix. 25095 + TTL. Seeing that yours has leather puts it on par with my deal, which I was happy with. I went with the black and love it. Good luck.
  • swoo1swoo1 Member Posts: 12
It's not a bad deal, but you can do better. I purchased a 2wd EXL 10 days ago for $25002 + TTL. The car had 5 miles on it. I did not have a trade-in.
  • swoo1swoo1 Member Posts: 12
    mjjpower,

Drive or fly down to LA. Honda dealers are very competitive in the LA area.

I drove down from N. Cal to LA and bought a 2wd EXL for $25,002 +TTL ten days ago.

2007 pilots should be hitting the dealers late Aug/early Sep.
  • swoo1swoo1 Member Posts: 12
You can get a 4WD EXL with navigation for $27,257 or less in the LA area. I priced this configuration before I decided to go with the 2WD EXL.
  • sz9esz9e Member Posts: 2
I got it at Goudy honda.

Which dealership did you go to in LA? $25,002 would be worth a trip to CA.

I live in florida wich is a 6% sales tax. Im trading a 2002 alero and all they are giving me is 3000 dollars for it. They have me out the door for 29,000 even. the funny thing is i have been offered 4300 for my trade prviously but they told me they just gave me less off on the new vehicle, what do u think good or bad deal

wow thats a really great price. i wonder if in the bay area dealers are going to that price level for such a loaded truck
  • swoo1swoo1 Member Posts: 12
I tried most of the dealers in the Bay Area but no one came close in price, plus not much selection of vehicles/color. Got quotes from So. Cal and drove down to buy my car. Saved $800 but more importantly, got the color I wanted wiht low miles on the vehicle.
  • swoo1swoo1 Member Posts: 12
Don't know about Florida; can definitely do better in So. Cal.

Play the dealer's game with them and offer to buy the car at the negotiated price without trade-in. Sell the car yourself for more than $4,300.

We just brought our 2006 Pilot EXL-RES home today. We bought from Sussman's INTERNET SALES dept. It was a totally painless process. I emailed them about 3 weeks ago, got a price I was happy with and put down a deposit (we live 4 hours away and couldn't get there to pick it up until this past weekend). We spent a total of 2 hours in the dealership, mainly learning about the features of the car (how to operate the DVD etc) and then signing the papers. The price I was quoted in early July was $27,929 incl dest, plus tags and tax. It was exactly the same when we went to sign the papers. The internet salesman was great and there was no pressure. He told me "the price you get over the internet is better than any you would get if you walked in" and he also said that the price he quotes in the beginning of the month is the same price he'll quote at the end of the month. We live in Pittsburgh and it was about $2000 less in the Philly area, where we go frequently anyway. I tried to get a few freebies like mud guards etc and they wouldn't budge but this price was lower than any I had read on this forum within a reasonable drive for us so I went with it. Thanks to all the contributors here I think we got a great deal and Sussman was a pleasure to deal with.

Hi- Just got a great deal at Sussman via the INTERNET sales dept. See my post at #7042- we were @ $27929 incl dest plus TT. One thing our salesman mentioned (the internet salesman) was that color choices are getting difficult but we got our first choice= white AWD/EXL/RES.Good luck

thank you for your insight, i think checking out so cal dealers may be the way to go! hey and airfare is super cheap one way so it cant be better! thanks again :)

Just wanted to let you all know of a good dealership in Texas. I got a EX-L, with destination costs, rear mudguards and visor for $27526.00 at Lake Jackson, Texas. They were really professional and I negotiated everything on the phone before driving down there. Their price was almost $1200 below anything I could get in the Dallas area.

Lehigh Valley offered this joke-of-a-deal last night on a 06 Pilot EXL-RES: $29995 + destination. They said it was an 'end of the month special'. We laughed at them and walked out. The salesman was arrogant and rude when we said we wanted $28K or nothing.

Clinton Honda (NJ) has offered us $27939 + destination.

You are wasting your time with Lehigh Valley as they are refusing to go into holdback to move their Pilots like other dealers.

not a good . first talk the price of the car . then talk trade in . the price of the car is not based on the price of the trade in . remember the dealer has three ways to get you the price of the car , the trade in and the financing . u r only looking at 1 ball the price of the car he is juggling three .
  • biglou13biglou13 Member Posts: 17
Try one of these three dealers open road honda, dch honda and staten island honda .

everything looks rosey now but at the end of the month reality sets in

Up to July 31, Honda was offering high-volume dealers up to $3000 in incentives on the Pilot, and several dealers offered it at invoice price less the $3000, so your deal seems a little high. I'm just not sure if Honda is continuing the dealer incentives into August.
  • dbrosdbros Member Posts: 81
I'm just not sure if Honda is continuing the dealer incentives into August.

I just run a quote with open road honda and they are still selling honda pilot $3000 below invoice. So It's still going on...

The car I got a quote with is Honda Pilot EX-L with RES for 28,169.00

I helped a friend close a deal on a new Honda Pilot 4 wheel drive EXL with DVD in Silver last Friday. Bought it from Hardin Honda in Anaheim, Ca. MSRP $35,195, invoice $31,718, purchase price was $28,155 which includes destination. Also got the 4.9% financing over 60 months from Honda. Tax was $2320, license $258, 8.75 tire fee, $45 doc fees.

A couple of other quotes I received which includes destination, this is for 4WD EXL DVD:
    Rock Honda $28,695
    Buena Park $ 29,120
Honda of Pasadena $28,355, and $27,455 for 2WD EXL DVD

    What are your thoughts?
  • jmurman42jmurman42 Member Posts: 675
Actually it was a tiered program. You had to hit certain sales goals to reach those numbers. If you missed them then you didn't get the money. There were alot of dealers who started throwing those numbers out and quickly found out that they wouldn't be able to hit the numbers.

This month is different, the program is $3000 dealer cash for any volume.
  • hgbeehgbee Member Posts: 38
Is this real? you mean every dealer could get $3000 dealer cash for any pilot they sell?

Oh, that is good deal for everybody in anywhere
  • lap7lap7 Member Posts: 2
Got the Pilot on July 31.
It was $24,300 + TT and doc fee $289
For NC the sales tax is 3%

Even if this is only $1600 under invoice I think on the entry level LX (altough with 4WD) is a great deal. Honda usually sells above invoice. Besides, the pilots competition, e.g., explorer, durango, 4 runner were a few thousands above 24.3
  • ahuahu Member Posts: 14
    Is this price includes TTL?
  • jbl8jbl8 Member Posts: 40
Open road is ok. I bought an Accord from it before. But this time, I bought a PILOT 4WD EXL from DCH Acadmy Honda. Better price $25813+Dest+TTL. These two dealers are close.

    :)

I guess it is time to return all the good info that allowed us to get our new Pilot at a decent price. New 2006 EX-L AWD NAVI for 28,500 at Spirit Honda in El Monte. This was a cash deal, no trade-in. Dealed exclusively with the Internet Sales Department. It is time to grab those good deals out there since there is a 3,000 manufacturer to dealer rebate. Good luck to you all!
  • mvoelkermvoelker Member Posts: 1
Sorry, I know this comes up a million times, but I'm having a really hard time navigating the boards here.

My wife and I are ready to buy a 4WD EX-L with Nav (we would prefer Nav AND RES, but I don't think that's available?)

Is this going to be possible for under our 30K budget?
  • keithrlkeithrl Member Posts: 32
first of all, you are right, you cannot get RES AND NAV, you can only get one or the other, which has been a complaint for some.

That being said, you could get a 4WD EXL with one or the other for less than 30K, although TTL would push you over that mark by 100 -1500. Even if you could get RES AND NAV, the price would be over your stated budget.
  • tjd33tjd33 Member Posts: 1
Bought our EX-L 4WD with NAV and auto day/night mirror (installed) on 7/25. Pricing was as follows:

Car + Destination Fee: $28,408 (Sticker was $35,795)
    Tax: $1989
Title, Registration & Other Doc Fees: $603

    Out the door price: $31,000

This was purchased from a dealer in NJ (NYC metro area). I got quite a few quotes from local dealers in the $31,000 to $32,000 OTD price range.

This is my first Honda (leased 3 Jeep Grand Cherokees prior to this). So glad I made the switch.

I also got this email on Tuesday from Route 23 Honda in NJ:

New Price Quote As of 8/1/06 and Valid Only Until 8/31/06 on IN-STOCK Vehicles Only:

    Make: 2006 Honda Pilot
Model: EXL with Navigation 4WD [YF1876JNW]
    New MSRP/KBB: $35795
    Our New Price: $ 27901

whats a good out the door price i should shoot for roughly with 06 ex-l with nav?? if not that whats a good price for just the pilot with destination ? thanks  :confuse: i am so confused!!
  • guzzlahguzzlah Member Posts: 1
I did a lot of reading up on this message board about the kind of prices I might expect to pay for an EX-L with Nav. I was dead set on $28,300 being the lowest price I could get away with and went to two dealerships yesterday to negotiate. When I presented my price I practically got laughed out of both dealerships. The first one gave me a rock bottom price of $31,400...the second said no lower than $30,000. I live in southeastern VA and because I'm traveling to Northern VA I decided to give Hendrick Honda in Woodbridge a try over the internet. They beat both dealerships in my area but are still above the $28,200 some folks here are getting. Oh well, I'm satisfied with a quote of $30,863.50 out the door. I pick it up tomorrow!! For those of you shopping around...don't settle for the first price and don't be afraid to travel. My traveling will save me about $2,000!! Good luck!!!

thank you very much ,1st hand info very helpful! :)
  • dbrosdbros Member Posts: 81
Is that an AWD or 2WD? Why don't you try conicelli honda in P.A.? They can give the price your looking for for that kind of vehicle. I'm from FL and I bought my Pilot from there without hidden cost!
  • dbrosdbros Member Posts: 81
$28,300-28,500 and get it from Conicelli Honda in Conshohocken, P.A. if you are near that area... You might be a little hard pressed to get 28,300.00 but I know some people bought it for that price from that dealership. I bought mine from them but with RES for 28,030 including destination. They just added 70.00 for Temporary license, documentation fee and tire something. all in all it was 28,100.00.

Other dealership will charge you 499.00 doc. fee, 200+ dealer fees and much more so be careful and do your homework right. Ask for those things before you decide to buy.

I'm sorry I won't be able to give you OTD price because I was an Out of State customer and have to pay my TTL here in FL. If you know your TTL in your state just add it on.
  • mjjpowermjjpower Member Posts: 12
I have noticed that when I call and talk to dealers they are able to "look up" what is available on other lots. I was told yesterday that there are only 2-3 2WD EX's or EXL's available in WA and Oregon...mind you I understand they are not as popular as the 4WD but is there a way for me to see where they are located at? Apparently this dealer was unable to get in touch with the dealers who had these on their lot so she could not give me a qoute yet. I would like to know if this is information we have access too...I'm guessing not.
Anybody else know if the dealer incentive is truly just a $3000 incentive regardless of volume?
    Thanks

My husband and I want to buy a HOnda Pilot, EX-L, 4WD and have gone to the only Honda dealer here in Rochester. Seeing that others have been so gracious to post buying tips, would anyone out there recommend a good dealer even in the Twin Cities area with good deals, or someone that can offer the Pilot at a better price than the Rochester Honda, maybe below invoice and MSRP? Thanks.
