My husband actually likes that color better than black.

Also, did you say that the manager took 1000 off of 27188= 26,188 for a 4WD ex-l with NAVI? Or did you mean that he gave you a great price for the 2WD EX-L with NAVI minus $1000.
thanks. looking to buy one soon.
I purchased from Ludgren Honda in Auburn, MA. Oddly enough, it was the first dealership I visited. I did a TON of research and comparison shopping and went back to them in the end. It really was the most painless car purchase I've had to date. The salesman was really great and there were none of the typical games.
I purchased for 28,686 EX-L with RES. They called around for the color I wanted as they didn't have it on the lot. That was a Friday and the car was in on Monday and ready to drive away. No extra charge. No complaints.
Happy Pilot driving everyone and enjoy the remainder of your summer.
I submitted requests to 10 nearby dealers (DC area), received quotes from 7, three had quotes within $100 of eachother after a little negotiating via the internet, but only two had my top choice of Steel Blue. Put down a little more than half and financed the rest at 2.9% for 24 months.
To buy for $3,380 under invoice ($6,695 under MSRP) and to get 2.9% financing on a vehicle as unbelievable as the Pilot is crazy! I'm so glad I waited I almost pulled the trigger on one a couple months ago.
If your picky on color like me and want a great deal on an '06, I'd say to hurry up and get your Pilot.
$6,000 Discount
$22,700 plus tax title and other fees
2nd tank of gas 21 mpg
3rd tank of gas 22 mpg +
Overall very happy
purchased at Westbrook Honda, Westbrook, CT
The reason for that maybe is that you didn't haggle for the price you want and doesn't show that you are an interested buyer...
You have to be ready to counter what the dealer is trying to quote you and be prepared and have your research handy.
I used the internet for quotes and pushed pricing via email. Once I got it to that price point, I pulled the trigger to secure my color.
Thanks to everyone on this board. You just can't beat this resource.
We're considering using AAA Car Club, or COSTCO to help with the fee's. Apparently COSTCO has a low MSRP agreement with the local dealers. Can anyone speak to that? Also, any comments about purchasing a 2007? And...what's this I hear about the re-do on the '08s?
Any information you can share would be appreciated. Signed, Wet Behind the Ears.

Honda Pilot depreciates 10k first year so they are still not giving these machines away.
August is a big volume bonus month for Honda dealers so get 10-15 quotes (email or fax) from your nearest dealerships the last week of the month for best results
Happy hunting..

I have checked several dealerships and most of them are telling me that they can't go below 28,000 on an EXL, but one dealership told me that they are getting as much as $6,000 back from Honda. I just don't get why they are sitting on these cars when the 07's are already arriving and the 07's are only about $200.00 more. (sticker price) Anybody have a thought on this?
Given gas prices, no design changes with the '07 Pilot, and the SUV market in general . . . . What are the chances the rebates for the Pilots will stay or come back qiuckly on the '07's? Especially with a re-design expectd in '08. Any prognosticators out there??
Rebates are almost always advertised and in any event are usually coughed up without negotiation as they make for a happy customer, lower price, and are uncollectable by the dealership or you without your signature. (State Attorney General gets upset otherwise) No real reason not to offer up spontaneously unless you called the dealer's kids ugly.
Dealer marketing support (advertised or unadvertised) may or may not be there and if and how much you may have to smoke out. As is the case with most new car names. message 7252 again. In this case the advertised "Honda Clearance" is one clue.

Find a dealer with a bunch of 06 Pilots on their lot and I'll bet you'll be under $27,000 in a flash. Be willing to walk away and to drive a fair distance if necessary.
Good Luck!
To say Honda has never had rebates is like arguing the definition of "is" for the beloved President Clinton.
absolutely right ... sadly, though, informed buyers make up a surprisingly small percentage of all buyers.
So not offering up money back to the general public and somewhat hiding the money back in the form of dealer cash is one of the reasons Honda resale is so good. If EVERYONE knew you could walk in and get such a big discount, you can be sure the used values would drop.

Also, I didn't opt for RES or NAV because you can put those in after market in the Pilot and the after market ones can and will be a better investment in the long run.
Are you looking for 2WD or 4WD EX-L? $27K is not bad in DFW for a 4WD. Read through some of my previous posts. I wouldn't waste my time with Honda Cars of McKinney or Lute Riley. Bankston and Rusty Walis were relatively competitive.
My measure was SI Honda. They have 175 Pilots on the lot! They would not beat my price and told me to take the deal from my dealer. I thought thet were crazy that they would not beat the price.
Bring on the snow!
$29.4 +TTL
in Dallas/Fort Worth
It isn't the lowest, but seems fair. Any feedback?
I will post my deal info tonight...
Happy shopping everyone and this board shure helped me a lot!
175 Hondas on their lot and they wouldn't beat the price you had? I have to admit I don't get some of these dealers. You would think with that many 06s on their lot they would be slashing and burning to move them. The closest dealer to my home had 30+ Pilots on their lot and told me they would beat any written offer by $200. They then did not do it even though I had a quote by email. They didn't believe it was a legit quote. It was.
I'm ready for the snow too. Bring it on!
I ended up taking the quote of $26,500 excluding taxes and MV fees from SI Honda to my local Paramus Honda dealer and bought a black and gray AWD EX-L for $26,500 + $129 dealer doc fee + $354 title/plates/reg + $7.50 NJ tire fee + tax. I dealt with the internet dept at both dealerships.
$30,000 out the door (included car, my 0 NET trade (actually a vehicle that is just barely worth more than the remaining cost - by anyone's standard, including CarMax, edmunds.com and another dealer), all fees, 6.25% sales tax) 100% out the door.
The salesman and Sales Manager spoke with me. Told them both I could not argue the fairness of their deal, but had to walk away.
Conicelli Autoplex, Conshohocken, PA
Hendrick Honda of Woodbridge, Woodbridge, VA
Both dealers have great salespeople and offer very competitive prices. I am not going to do a deal with them because I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have received offers here that are very competitive, but I think both of these dealers deserve recognition for their professionalism and fair dealing. :shades:
So, on to the specifics. I called up Frank Kent on Saturday morning. I asked to speak to the Internet Sales Manager and was immediately told that I was speaking to her. She gave me a price of $27,169 including tint + $824 for the backup sensors. I said no way. She said she would ask her manager, but she doubts anyone would call me back to get the price of the sensors down. A few minutes later she called back and said that was her best offer. About an hour later, I got a call from a salesperson who sounds like he has been there a long time. He was courteous, professional, and we agreed on $27,600. He promised me that there would be no games if I made the trip out there. I drove out with my wife. He had Black w Tan and also a Sage Brush coming. I didn't like the Tan interior, so we decided to go with Sage Brush. It's a beautiful car...it drives like a dream.
Note, I also contacted Reliance and was willing to fly down there. Their price was $26,800 with no backup sensors or tint or any add ons. They had our first color choice...black with grey, but I didn't want to devote an entire day to flying down there and driving back up to DFW.
The experience at Frank Kent was top notch. As others have noted, they hesitate to give you pricing over the phone for fear you will use it against them by getting another dealer to beat it, but if you get to the right person, they will give you a fair price and a great buying experience. They did try to sell me a bunch of extras in the financing room, but I declined them all. I will consider buying Honda care from one of the online dealers.
What are people paying in NJ for the EX-L with navi?
I am very happy with my purchase and want to thank this forum posters for their invaluable posts.
Thanks again !!
