I'm not in SoCal, but another overpriced area out east. I would check around still.
The best price I've gotten - out-the-door - for a 2009 LX 2WD (which is what I am looking for) is $20,500. I haven't been able to snag it for cheaper. Opinions on how good this is? Like I said, I haven't been able to find cheaper.
The cheapest price for the vehicle itself I've been quoted is 19,199 (that's not including taxes, fees, etc).
I purchased my silver 09 CR-V EX-L w/ navi yesterday in Louisiana. Here's what I paid:
$26,438 + 285 for the roof rack I got $9200 for my 04 pilot which is the exact blue book amount for a "good" vehicle
I love driving the car. I like the voice recognition features, but the navigation system doesn't seem to be as user friendly or as thorough as my garmin.
I'm sorry I messed up on my numbers in the previous post. I actually paid $26438 which included the $285 that I paid for the roof rack. Also included in the $26438 was a $100 doc fee that I was not told about in advance. After I complained they gave me three free oil changes.
I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin area... looking to get a great year end deals on 2008 CRV either LX or EX AWD models
The best deal I have been offered is $21,420 for a 2009 LX AWD in Chicago area. I have to add sales tax of 5.5% and service fee. Total price comes to about $22700.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal for a 2009.
Also, whats the best price anyone in this forum has paid for a 2008 LX or EX AWD model.
Planning to buy this weekend. Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: I had a quote of 20,500 out-the-door for a LX 2WD, but at the last minute another dealer came in with an out-the-door price of 20,400. so that's what I paid. no hassles, no gimmicks when I got there. it was a great experience. this was in MD, though I live in VA (so I paid 3% VA tax).
Okay, let me start over. I purchased an 09 CR-V EX-L 2WD w/ navi in silver. In my original post I was going from memory. What messed me up is that on the bill of sale they added $800 to my trade in amount and subtracted $800 off of the car price. I didn't realize they did that until everything was finalized. The only difference in doing it that way for me is that I paid a little less sales tax. So here are the actual numbers from my bill:
I received a quote for 2009 2WD EX-L without Navi for $24,261 including destination charge. Price does not include TTL or a $399.00 processing fee. It does include wheel locks, mud flaps and trunk tray. For accessories (not included in above price), they want $461 for fog lights, $314 for roof racks and $151 for all season mats (installed). For the 4WD EX-L without Navi, the price jumps to $25,772 plus the extra charges listed above.
How does that price compare with what others are getting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I am also in Atlanta trying to find one of the remaining 2008 CR-V EX. Having a tough time with dealers not even close to invoice and top of that they have exorbitant "doc fees". Based on earlier responses, end of the year/month was mentioned as the best time to buy but no luck so far.
I just agreed to purchase a 2009 Honda CRV EXL for $24660.00. It took me walking out twice and holding to my price. I told them that I was going to purchase and that I would not pay anymore than invoice for the car. They finally agreed (the became more agreeable the close we got to the end of the month and the end of the year!). This was the second Honda I purchased from this dealer in the last 6 months and the 3rd in the last 3 years.
20,500 for a 2009 CR-V LX seems to be a VERY good price. Does the $19,199 quote that you got include destination charges (about $670)? If it has included destination charge, then it is a super good deal.
24660 was for a 2 wd 2009 CRV EXL with fog lights and the dealer offers a life time warranty. I live in NC so I also did have to pay 3% sales tax. Tags were included in the 24,660.00
I just helped my uncle purchased a brand new 2009 CR-V. Here are the details of his purchase:
2009 CR-V EXL AWD w/o Navi Glacier Blue:
Internet Price: $23,800 Destination: $670 Doc Fee: $150 Tax: 9.25% ($2,270) County Fee: $15.00 ---------------------- Total (before accessories): $26,905
However, dealer would not budge on the installed accessories. Dealer had installed two things: 1) Wheel Locks $99 2) First Aid Kit $200 ---------------------- TOTAL OUT THE DOOR: $27,200 - w/ 36 months 1.9% APR
Considering the model is a 2009 and not a 2008 model, I think he got a very fair price. The dealer incase any of you are interested is: Continental Honda -La Grange Road Country Side, IL.
Hi I have been researching this vehicle for a couple of weeks now. So far, here is the best deal I have gotten
Price: $19412 Sales Tax (FL 6%) $1190.43
Government Fee's: Tag Transfer $35.35 Electronic Title Fee $24.00 New Vehicle Battery Disposal Fee $1.50 New Vehicle Tire Disposal Fee $4.00 Florida Lemon Law Act $2.00
I asked the dealer to waive all dealer and dest fee.
So the total, Out the door price is : $20675.
What are your thoughts? Is this a good price or do you think there is more room for negotiation?
I'd say that is a very good deal, I had read other posts where the Doc fees in Florida were rather high and to get them to wave dealer and dest fees makes it even better. I've read elsewhere that the maximum discount was 11.71% off MSRP and your deal sounds like thats what you got.
I am in the process of purchasing an 09 CRV EX (No Navig). I am trying to find out what a fair offer would be. According to my research, dealer invoice is $22,395 inc Dest. Chrgs. I know that dealer invoice price is not actually what the dealer paid. Can anyone help me with this?
A dealership, after bantering back and forth, made me an offer of $24450. The ad on their webside doesn't say it's 4x4, but Carmax states all wheel drive. Does not show nav, or heated seats. I offered $23000, but turned down. Is this a good deal?

Not sure... I am still bargaining this same model down. So far the lowest quote we've gotten is 24,700 out the door (includes tax/tags/etc) for a 2009 EX AWD.
Using Fatwallet's calculation I'm supposed to be able to get this for around $24,000 OTD, but it doesn't seem to be possible. ( my cousin is a car dealer and quoted us this )
What are the best prices people have gotten on EX's?
Please specify: - 2008 or 2009 - LX, EX, or EX-L - AWD or 2WD - if price includes TTL or not
It drives me crazy reading these threads when people say they spent $X but don't mention the specifics because it can easily swing the price $2000.
'09 CR-V 4WD EX-L w/o Nav at $25,300 includes destination and documentation.
According to my calculations that is $573 under invoice. The dealership is about 45 minutes away, but I thought it was worth the $200 I'm saving over the local guy.
I'll also be taking advantage of the 3.9% for 60 months. Although the deals may get even better in January, I didn't want to risk it since my lease expires on my current vehicle in the middle of January.
Also, I think it is more likely that Honda will put more of their incentive dollars towards non-AWD vehicles being that we'll be in January (of course the economy is so bad I could be wrong).
Oh, and my friend is giving me the $100 he'll receive for referring me to the dealership where he recently purchased an Accord (brings price to $25,200).
I hope this is helpful to all. Good luck in pursuing a great deal.
Would you mind sharing what dealer you are purchasing from? I cannot get a good deal at all here and wouldn't care to travel to find one. I need some help. Thanks
I sent this message to a dealership that I have been talking to (which of course doesn't come close to your price). They wrote me back and seemed to think you were not correct with the figures you posted. Said it couldn't be done. They asked me to let them know if I could prove these numbers to be correct. I think I've already asked you who your dealership is.
I have to agree, these numbers are to low, I can't believe them either.
I find $24,460 for a 09 EXL 4WD and $22,293 for a 09 EX 4WD all with destination included to be unheard of.
I have shopped 9 dealers and all of them are over $1,000 over these prices.
If these prices are achievable, then there has to be reasoning behind it. Either these dealerships are closing down or a trade in, because I can't see a dealership taking such a big loss on this car.
Also, for anyone looking to purchase any car in New York State, documentation Fee is $45.00, which is a regulated charged. Many states outside of NY are not regulated, that why you see the huge increase as people pointed out $399 or higher. A dealership in NY State could get into serious trouble if charging anything greater that 45.00 for documentation fee, so be aware.
I negleted to state earlier that the car that I am looking for a fair price would be a 2WD. I am thinking of offering $23,200 Out The Door. (In Florida) Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks
I am in the market for a CRV and i was at Metro Honda,NJ and i was given a quote for the EX AWD as follows
Internet Price - $21,900 Dest Charges - $670 Taxes @ 7%- $1579
Total OTD- 24,140
Is the above a good price? I want to keep my price under 24k but the dealer is not willing to go down any further. I was at the dealership yesterday. Any suggestions welcome.

Vehicle $27101

My OTD was $28898 minus $10000 for my 04 pilot. And they did give me three free oil changes after I complained about the doc fee.
How does that price compare with what others are getting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can I ask which dealer you are working with?
Dealer in the NorthEast can deal on 09 EXL AWD at 24,600 (incl dest chg) plus ttl & doc fee. Pls keep this as your bargain price.
MSRP $27,765.00
Invoice $25,872.90

Im looking at the CRV ex l 4wd with Navi.

The MSRP of this vehicle is $29,465
Internet Sale Price is *$26,774 - Destination Fee is included. Tax, title, license, document fee, and accessories are extra.
I do not know what the document fee is... whatever it is... I would walk if it was not waived.
Hope this helps out as a decent comp. They had plenty of units on the lot including a few new 2008s.
Honda is not selling cars..... nobody is.
After the holiday's it's always slow, but with the economy in shambles, I'm waiting to see what incentives will be offered in January.
Thanks

It drives me crazy reading these threads when people say they spent $X but don't mention the specifics because it can easily swing the price $2000.
For reference purpose $22,700 (incl dest chg) + adm fees, TT&L is the ballpark low price for 09 EX AWD.

$22293 (include destination fee)
$398 (Documentation)
7% tax
$21 title
final OTD $24300
1.9% 36mon.
May not be a good deal. Just take as reference.

Happy Shopping.
I emailed to 7-8 dealerships.
The lowest I got for 2009 EX-L 4WD w/navi is 26350, which is more
than 1100 below invoice.
Good luck.

It is the right price.
