Rwla, is it $23000 plus tax? or included tax already? I actually got an offered Honda EX 2WD 2009 for $22500 OTD (destination fee included and no doc fee or other hidden fees whatsoever) plus Tax, title and registration.
I don;t know if that is a good deal or not

    Hi,

Can you please post the dealer's name?

    Thanks.
  • phisherphisher Member Posts: 175
Don't let the dealerships know you are paying cash until you settle on a price. They would be able to make more profit if you finance. This is just a stab but when i e-mailed dealers in Milwaukee Wilde honda gave me the best deal. Also just wait until next week to look. With the month winding down you should get the best deal and they will be under pressure to move cars.

I will probably finance, just to get a better price and wait till next week just before thanksgiving going in about 1 hour before closing.

I just got a quote for an 08 CRV EX 4WD for $23090.00 including destination, and for an 08 CRV LX 4WD for 21402.00 and an 09 CRV LX 4wd for $21,771.

These prices are outragous and way too high. I think these dealers are near bankruptcy like GM because all I see when I go in these places is most of the salepeople are smoking outfront or in the back by the service area. I got a much better price 18 months ago.

With prices like these, they will never sell anything. I would rather not deal with any salespeople as most of them know little about the product they are selling. I would rather deal with the finance person and clean-up peole to deliver the CRV and save money on price.

I will keep trying till the price is right!!!

Maybe as the economy worsens, Honda will offer more incentives, but these dealers in Milwaukee are probably going to shutdown soon if they don't sell any more cars.

I guess the last hour on 11/30/08 may be also a good time to get a deal, if you could not get deal on 11/26/08.

Car dealers in WI and MN are closed on Sundays per state law so the 30th is out.

Looking for a EX AWD. I was wondering what the OTD price is nowadays in the MD/DC/VA area? Interested in the 1.9 financing as well. Just wanted to be prepared before sending an email out.
I have not been to any dealerships for the past year. With all news of dealerships losing money, I was wondering if this is a good time to cut a good deal for a EX AWD?
Saw on a msg around the end of last month, a user said he or she paid $23,993 OTD in VA. Wondering if the price had went down?
    Thanks in Advance...
  • eno789eno789 Member Posts: 3
According to edmunds.com, MSRP $24015, Invoice $22395, TMV ~ $23866 (all including dest. charge)

Got a few internet quotes from dealers first, among the dealers emailed back quotes are Livermore, Tracy, Walnut Creek, Autowest Fremont, and Capitol San Jose. We went to Autowest for test drive and negotiation since they are local.

Final selling price was $21900 (including dest. charge), + tax, license, LoJack = OTD $24488. We did 36 month 1.9% financing with 0 down.

You can probably do better if you spend more time negotiating, or go to non-local dealer, but we were a bit tired already and we like the car.

i bought an 08 ex awd. blue. on 10/31. paid 23,200 OTD. got a call the following day from landmark saying they would give me a lower price than that. if you can find an 08 now (there will hardly be any left i'm assuming) maybe you can get OTD for 22?

i'm in va so pay 3.17% for sales tax.

I got our 2008 CRV EX AWD for the price of $23,393 last October 10, 2008 in northern va. A couple of dealers that I requested a quote before sent me email last week informing me about their new deals on their CRV both 2008 and 2009.

Pretty excited to find this discussion forum.

    I live in Southern California. I am looking to buy 2008 (or 2009) CR-V EX-L 2WD w/o Navigation. The invoice price is $24,379 ($23,990 + $670 destination) for the 2008 model.

What would be a good price for this specific trim? Any dealer recommendations in the Southern California area? Anybody who bought this trim (or something close) recently willing to share their purchase price?

    Thanks,
    SankarS

I bought a honda CRV 2008 2WD EXL model at Galpin Honda for the following OTD price of 26640

Accessories are Splash guards, vehicle side molding, Parrot bluetooth, all season mats, Auto Day/Night mirrors, Wheel locks.
  • SankarSSankarS Member Posts: 5
Cool! Does your OTD price of 26640 include tax, license etc? Would you happen to remember how much it was before taxes? Thanks in advance!

    I'm a first time buyer.

For an 09 EX 4WD, I was offered $23,000, that include destination fee, mud guard and wheel lock, does it sound good? According to edmunds, this is $500 below invoice price...

Processing fee is $399, TTL is about $800.

The OTD should be about $24,200, should I grab it?
  • circlewcirclew Member Posts: 8,666
I got them down to $22,500 for an '08 EX AWD. My OTD price was $24,500 in NJ.

    Go for it!

I'm in the Phila. area... have gotten quotes from 3 dealers on an 09 EX 4wd, 23,400 and (2) 23,500..... I'm not sure this is the best deal I can get but I have a feeling it's not the rock bottom price. Should I offer them less? or is this a good price.
I don't want to buy this weekend and then find I should have waited for december's crash prices. What's the consensus amongst you car buyers.
I wanted roof bars, but was asked $365??? can I get these cheaper through the internet (saw a pair offered for $200). Has anyone bought these aftermarket roof rack bars.
    thanks

  • justindianjustindian Member Posts: 4
yeah it did include tax and license. befoer taxes and fees the car price was 24,607 which includes accessories. best of luck...
  • SankarSSankarS Member Posts: 5
Good deal! Other than the base price, what else gets added to the vehicle price? I know some, but not sure about others. Can anyone confirm?

    1. Destination charge (this is standard, I guess)
    2. Accessories (this varies, of course)
    3. Advertisement fee? (Is this avoidable or negotiable. what's a reasonable number here?)
    4. Documentation fee. ($55 or is it more?)
    5. Tax and License (this is a standard percentage, I guess)
    6. Anything else?

    Thanks in advance!

    MPS3640:

2009 EX 4wd invoice is $23,508 from what I am seeing on Edmunds (with delivery). Do your quotes have delivery? Invoice is OK right now, some dealers are over (Conicelli and Sloane) where other are not. Look around, and offer less. A guy in NJ offered me 500 under invoice, I may look into that.

Not exactly sure what is going on. Main Line Honda is offering a 2008 EXL to me for $24800 = $700 under invoice. Its last years model, so there may be some dealer cash, not sure.

Who knows next month. Best time to buy is the last 2 weeks in Dec.... but I can't wait that long....

    Good luck

In the market for a new 09 CRV EX-L W/NAV and sent out price quote requests to five local dealers, below is the best quote I received so far, with the other four other quotes being anywhere from $500-$1000 more OTD. The Doc fee seems a little high to me, but then again the base price is almost $900 below invoice. Also, the manager assured me there are no other fees or add-ons. What do you guys think, can I do any better than this?

    Base Price - $24,800
    Dest Fee - $670
    Doc Fee - $500
    Tax - $1800
    Registration - $25
    Total OTD - $27795

I went to several dealers in HOUSTON, TX and the best price I get so far for CRV EX-L 2009 2WD W/O VAV - OTD is $26,100. Anyone has any better price than this, please give me some advices. Thank you very much.
  • SankarSSankarS Member Posts: 5
Would you care to give a break-down of the OTD figure (base price, dest charge, tax etc)?
  • mps3640mps3640 Member Posts: 6
    Santarev1
Thanks... all my price quotes incl. delivery but not the tax/tags. and most were given in emails.
I can wait for the end of Dec. but I'd rather buy now.. I was waiting to see if any of them contacted me today so that I'd ask them for a lower price.
Bustleton was low but wouldn't commit on paper so I never followed up with them.
West Chester honda is rated best in our area by some poll... they gave me a good price. I'd feel comfortable dealing with them.
Ardmore gave me a low 22,650 for the 08 4wd EX. but the 09 was 24,900? Go figure. I got several negative grumblings about their low price from others and was told that they're not tops in new cars sales but are #1 in used car sales. I'm still trying to figure out what this means.
Yes, NJ was lower on the 08 but not on the 09 model.
Is it worth buying an 08 leftover when I can get a 09 for $850 more???
Let me know think and how you make out... but I hear its best to deal on the last weekend of the month.... Xmas might or might not be the best deal month, but then I really don't know and I'm hoping to buy very soon.

Look over your numbers and work them today/tomorrow

If you are doing a 2008, you should be at least -600 invoice. Just keep in mind the car is 1 year old when you drive off the lot. If you keep the car long term, not a big deal. They have at least $700 to deal with on those cars (holdback and advertisement) and at this time, those cars are costing them $ sitting them with the 2009 competing!

If you want a 2009, you should be at invoice (where you are now) or below. I think the 2009 EX AWD is $23508. Offer them -400 from that, or more. Work them. Forget Conicelli - or Martin or Freed, Main Line honda is ok - also call Sussman honda - they have been good You are in total control.

Bustelton can be ok, but you got to get things in writing and not get worked over when you are there....

    Good luck!!

i am trying to get prices online from dealers for this car and so far i have only received one quote of $20,238 including destination. i know this is a little below invoice but shouldn't it be a little bit lower? and they only had 2 in stock-both lt. blue not my color choice
  • bigdadi118bigdadi118 Member Posts: 1,207
Destination charge (this is standard, I guess) .....

Check the MSRP amount to see whether destination $670.00 was included. If it was then dealer doubled-dip on the destination charge.

    Folks,

I would like to hear your opinion on this. I am looking to buy a 2008 CRV EXL 2WD w/o navi. The best quote I have got before TTL is $23,777.

I can either buy this car tomorrow (Nov 30) at this price or wait a couple of more days and buy the car in December.

    Now my questions are -
    1. Do you think Honda might roll-out some dealer incentives on the 2008 model year CRVs in early December?
    2. Alternately if I wait till December, will I miss out on any end-of-month November incentives.

I currently don't see any dealer incentives on 2008 CRVs reported on Edmunds.com. Do you guys know of any? Any other websites to check this info.

I appreciate any wisdom you can share!

I'm looking in the central Georgia area. So far have gotten no other responses on this board, but talking with some people in the business it seems like a pretty good deal at a few hundred below invoice as long as the dealer sticks to his word and doesn't throw in any erroneous charges. Below are the other OTD price quotes I have gotten from other dealers to give you a good idea of how much lower this dealer was than the others. I'm planning on buying in about a week and a half so I'll let you know how much I actually pay. Happy hunting in SoCal!

    $28,890
    $28,837
    $28,600
    $27,439.......This one is an 08

I've got two dealers who have quoted me online $19,250 for an '08 LX, including destination charge. Tax/License in my area will add approximately $1,788 for an OTD total of $21,038.

The CR bottom line price is $19,528 so this looks like a good deal, but perhaps this is out of date given the current economy.

Anyone get a lower model-year-end price in the Los Angeles area? Do you think this is a reasonable hair cut from a '09 LX?

    Thanks, paul

My wife and I are looking to purchasing a 09 CRV EX, when negotiating would taking the Honda financing at the current APR (3.9%)offer affect the price versus if we have our own financing? My financing would be about 1.4% higher than the 3.9% that Honda is offering. Thanks for any assistance
