Thanks for the input. I do hope to use larger tires someday -- are you saying that I can't go bigger if I get the 3.73 ratio? Or are you just saying axle ratio doesn't matter.

    Thanks.
  • BrutusBrutus Member Posts: 1,113
The axle ratios is a comparison of the number of revolutions of the drivetrain vs the revolutions of the axle. If you increase tire size, that ratio changes since the axle will take longer to make a revolution because it takes longer to do one rotation on a bigger tire than on the smaller stock tire.

Leather looks great and wears like iron, but here in Arizona in the summer they just don't work. You will weld your butt and back to the seat when you sit in the truck after it is parked in the sun for a while. I had leather seats in a car several years ago and had to put sheep skins over the seats to save myself from misery. Also, the cloth seats breath much better. On a hot day even with the AC going, you sweat like a pig on your back and butt. I also once had a leather recliner in my house. Same thing. Fall asleep on it and you wake up all soggy. Just like if it was vinyl. It just doesn't breath like cloth. So my advice is stay away from leather if you live/travel in a hot and/or humid area. Or get some sheep skins to cover the seats in the summer.

I have a 99 Crew Cab with the regular mirrors, and the passenger side is piss poor. It is regular mirror glass. It doesn't show things smaller and give a wide view. It is just like a regular mirror. I complained about it when Ford called me and wanted to know how I liked it and if I had any problems with it. If the 2Ks have the mirrors that show things smaller and give a wider view, let me know so I can replace my mirror glass with the newer style. I am just using the largest size convex spot mirror stuck on the stock passenger mirror so I can see. Doesn't look pretty, but I have a 5" lift and 36" tall tires and it is very easy for a full size car to get in my blind spot without me seeing it without the spot mirror on.
  • crazyelviscrazyelvis Member Posts: 216
It seems that the pass. mirror does not have as wide a view as the drivers mirror. When I was driving home today....when looking out of the drivers side mirror....I could see from one house one side of the street to one house on the other side....pretty wide view....looking out of the pass. mirror I could see about half or less of what I could see out of the drivers mirror....plus it seems blurry to me. The drivers mirror is not blurry....so it is not my eyesight!!!! I wonder if Ford will rectify this for me.....are other peoples mirrors as bad as KEH4x4's and mine???? Who should I talk to if I call the dealer???? Seems like sales wouldn't be able to help and service and parts wouldn't be any better.....Hmmmmmmmm.....any ideas????
  • crazyelviscrazyelvis Member Posts: 216
Not to contradict anyone in here...it is not my intention.......but I live in Florida...which can get pretty hot...not as hot as AZ...but probably comparable as we have very high humidity in the summer......I never have a problem with the leather in our cars......If the windows are tinted....I use heat reflective tint on the vehicles.....it keeps the temp down......well thats my last 2 cents on the subject....
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
I've think that the passenger side mirror is not an 'objects seen in mirror are smaller' type of mirror. What kind is the passenger mirror? normal or slightly convexed. (if thats the right term)

A few things i thought of is your sitting a LOOONG way away from the passenger side mirror, which I think could reduce the field width if the mirror is just a normal one.
Also, the angle on the passenger side mirror is steeper as your sitting on the other side of the truck.. Another thing to cause a more limited field of vision..

When I test drove with the TT mirrors, I thought the upper mirror was just as limiting in view as the normal ones, but the TT mirrors have the handy little convex mirror underneath which was way useful.

More wall paper for you. This one has crew cabs, dually's and the power stroke diesel. For new kids on the block see past posts for other wall paper addresses not to mention a whole lot of good Super Duty info. I'm still waiting for my rig. Keep the good info coming. Thanks all. I'm thinking about having some tee shirts made up using the SD wall paper. Would anyone be interested? Just a thought for now. Jimsrs

Hi everyone, I checked the VOPC this morning and I'm still clean and unscheduled. I ordered a 2000 F-250, SD, SC, PSD, 3.73ls, LT265/75R tires, Lariat, loaded.

I appreciate all the input from this group. This is extremely helpful.

I would appreciate opinions on the following issue before I receive by build-date. I will be pulling "occasionally" a 25 foot snowmobile/motorcycle trailer which when fully loaded will weigh approximately 6,000 IBs. Will I be in good shape with the 3.73ls?
  • slowhand7slowhand7 Member Posts: 5
I've been reading posts here ever since I received my DORA on 9/22. I ordered a 2000 F-250SD, Crew Cab, LWB, V-10, 3.73ls, Lariat on 9/20. It says on the DORA that it is priority 12. Every day since 9/22 I've called the 800 number to check it's status and every day I hear the same thing -- clean and unscheduled. I can't even get a build date. Is this normal? What's the consensus? Is the holdup on these orders the availability of the V-10? Is it just that demand is outstripping supply in terms of Ford's capacity to meet orders? Or, are the forces of evil and darkness just picking on me? I mean...come on....a month+ and they can't even tell me when there going to get around to building it? Geeez. Seems a little excessive to me. I could understand it if I was asking them to build me a submarine or something. But I ordered a Ford Truck...from the Kentucky Truck Plant. I want a Ford truck...they build Ford Trucks....seemed like a natural fit to me. Just goes to show you what I know.

Oh, by the way, thanks to all of you who have posted answers on how to access DORA, etc. It's been a real help to those of us who don't know much.
  • kgrantckgrantc Member Posts: 26
Slowhand 7.............I ordered my F-250 on September 20th and am still waiting for a build date. I wish I would of knew about the "dealer allotment issue" before choosing my dealer. This has a lot to do with how quickly our trucks get pulled.

Anyway, stay tuned. I'll report my build/delivery date upon receipt from VOPC.
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
Only 6,000 lbs.. With the powerstroke you'll keep looking in the mirror to make sure the trailer is still there.. From what I've heard of others, the PSD with the 3.73 will handle that easily..
  • kgrantckgrantc Member Posts: 26
That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you.
  • donlynchdonlynch Member Posts: 8
kgrantc & slowhand7 - Sounds like we're in the same boat ---- just hope it doesn't have a hole in it. Ordered my 2k 250 4x4 Lariat CC short box v-10 auto on Sept 25 and is still clean and unscheduled. When I ordered it, the sales folks said it would take 8-10 weeks ... figure this is four weeks now and may not get VOPC message changed for a couple weeks yet. I agree though, it's hard to remain patient.
  • gthiltongthilton Member Posts: 30
I ordered my truck Aug. 28, had a DORA dated Aug. 30, and it was 8 full weeks before I had a build date. If you've read my earlier posts there were 3 trucks from one dealership ordered Oct. 12 that had build dates the same as mine. Unreal, actually. I was literally going to that other dealership the SAME day as I received my "serialized" message over the VOPC. (Of course, that changed my plans) But I looked for advice here for a while. Someone, (I don't remember who) advised I wait two more weeks. I did. Worked for me, but again, it is kind of a crap shoot. Hate to start over with no promises at the next place. So there I was ready to strangle somebody, next thing I'm looking at a 12 week wait...not too bad. I'll take it. I haven't seen any reality to a V-10 shortage, per se, just overall superduty supply vs. demand.
As far as VOPC goes, that thing is up 24/7, and sometimes it appears to be down, but usually is back to normal after a short while. Heck, they have to update it sometime, right?
My CC V-10 Lariat is due the week of Nov. 15. I'm leaving for Cleveland for a few days (from mid-Michigan) on the 19th. So if any of you see a hauler with a red SD CC on it having a long lunch, tell him to get on his job! I'll be a little disappointed if I have to go without it!
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
I ordered a F250 Lariat V10, SC short bed, etc. on 9/15, the DORA was processed on 9/20. My truck is "locked in as of 11/3" for a build week of 11/1 and has an eta of 11/22. I would ask the dealer to find out what the hold up is. (Someone should let Ford know that 11/3 comes after 11/1)
  • lewaclewac Member Posts: 151
Jepsonfam... the slider hitch is not what I was referencing. that's a completely different animal that you don't need (besides, they only allow an additional 9" of cab clearance). The extended king pin box mounts on the trailer (it is not part of the truck hitch at all) in place of the "stock" king pin box. what it does is "extends" the position of the king pin about 16" forward (horizontally) of the non-extended counterpart (it essentially makes your coach approx. 16" longer from the pin to the rear of the coach). the box is the removable portion of the hitch that is bolted to the coach (which is generally adjustable vertically). we don't like the idea of the SB's 29 gal fuel tank either. but we've decided to install an in-bed aux fuel tank anyway )so the size of the existing tank being 9 gals smaller is now superfluous. when you purchase your fiver ascertain that an extended king pin box is available (it ought to be as most of the pin boxes have standardized sizes). and just as important, check the height of the area that extends over the truck bed. you need 5" of clearance (minimum) between there & the truck side rails when the fiver is hitched.

Crazyelvis... can't believe no one will supply a "standard" mirror. I hate those (convex) types of mirrors too because you can't perceive where anything really is (& this becomes especially true at night). worse, I don't have any advice except maybe obtaining those mirrors from tracyo.

slowhand7... it does look like the v10 is holding things up a little. it also seems rather inconsistent as some are still obtaining 7-8 week delivery times. it may just be that others are between the "cracks" so-to-speak, schedule wise. the important item is that you've got DORA info. however; even a 12 week wait is well worth it for one of these "beasts" no matter what the configuration as no one else has anything to offer that is even remotely close. we ordered our psd a couple of weeks after you & have a build week of 11/15 probably because the psd & manual tranny combo is not very popular. a couple of more weeks ought to do it for you.

To all others waiting I ordered my f250sd cc 4x4 xlt v-10 with lots of options on 7-27-99. I don't know when the order went through but I've been clean and unsceduled for 5 or 6 weeks now (when I found about this vopc stuff). Anyway my patience is real thin. My dealer has gotten the zone manager involved about 2 weeks ago but nothing has budged. Today I called the ford customer assistance center and they basically confirmed the vopc stuff. They claim to have no additional resources available to them to find out where I am in the que. It seems totally unbelievable that we can't even find out when we will get a build date. No other industry I know of can get away with this. Supply and demand certainly rules this game. It certainly is a drag not being able to get exactly what you want in a timely fashion. My 78' f150 is showing her age.. I need my truck.
  • slowhand7slowhand7 Member Posts: 5
OK, guys. Thanks for the info. I guess it's somewhat comforting to know that I'm not the only one going through this. I guess I'll climb in off the window ledge and not jump for another couple of weeks.

I have another question though.....has anyone have any information, suggestions or experience with auxiliary fuel tanks that will fit a y2k F-250 CC LWB? My preference is one that fits under the truck (and doesn't require removal of the spare) rather than one in the bed.
  • glen39glen39 Member Posts: 2
Hey Crazyelvis.About the DORA. I just orered my sd a few weeks ago. On my dealer vehicle order confirmation he gave me it says Order no: 0000 Priority 10.
Was this to just get it started? Is this enough information to call the Ky. Plant? Thanks for all the posts. Glen
  • bessbess Member Posts: 972
Thats not a real DORA order number, thats simply the printout the dealer gets when he puts it in the computer. (I saw the same sheet when the dealer was punching mine in.. Looks kinda official, but its not).

You should call the dealer and ask for the DORA info or more specifically order number..
This, along with the dealer number and body type of the truck ordered should be all you need.

If he can not, or will not give you the DORA order number, then somethings up..
(Either the dealer didnt submit the order, or the dealer has no allocation for the truck etc..)

We got several inches of snow last night. It looks like it might stick this time. Roads were nasty this morning. I had it in 4wd all the way to work. My 20 minute commute took an hour because of traffic. Some people obviously haven't put their snow tires on yet. It happens every year. I had fun on the side roads spinning around corners. The key to winter driving is knwoing your vehicles limitations. The best way to refresh your memory from the previous season is to play around a little on the side roads.

Leather is probably more of a preference. I had no problem with it in Texas and I have no problem with it up here in Anchorage.

The 3.73s will do fine for towing 6000 pounds. The difference between the 3.73 and the 4.30 will be that your truck will downshift sooner on some hills with the 3.73.

lewac - thanks for the info on 5th wheeling above. Please excuse me but I took the liberty of passing the info along in topic 1117 Crew Cab SB or LB. Gave you credit of course. I figured there's some other rookies out there that could benefit from your knowledge. Hope you don't mind. I remember back aways some previous post was resurrected (with credit) and with the volume of posts it gets hard to keep the wealth of info straight. JJ

Bess said it best about the DORA thing. And yes I will try to work out a deal for those mirrors, lewac. Have you talked to Ken lately???? Probably not since you have the DORA info. Hope everything is going alright for everyone in here.
Brutus....dude!!.....I was out helping coach my girls soccer team tonight.....running around and SWEATING!!!! Low 80's here....I'm not CRAZYelvis...YOU ARE!!! It's too da*n cold up there!!!!!

I ordered Y2K F-250 CC 4x4 XLT package V-10 with all the options on 10/16, had the DORA on 10/18 with a priority of 25. By 10/21, had VIN # and build date of 11/08 with delivery estimated for 11/29. When I ordered, my dealer told me to expect up to a 16 week wait for this package. After reading all these postings I really expected just that. I am really pleased with all this, but what gives? Why the long wait for some and not others? Does it really all come down to allocation?
  • porkyporky Member Posts: 83
SLOWHAND7: Like MEWMAN, I too ordered my truck in JULY, the 24th to be exact, and finally received a build date the week of 11/8, delivery 11/29. Be patient and enjoy the reading.

CRAZYELVIS: Is that ANY kind of leather treatment or do you recommend a certain brand???

Just ordered my 2000 SD with the floor mounted 4wd transfer case. Thought it didn't make sense to have the pushbutton sof if you still have to get out of the truck and manually lock the hubs. The dealer says they only have manually locking hubs. Is this true?
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
The hubs are automatic, with a manual override. Your sales person doesn't know squat.
  • paull1paull1 Member Posts: 65
'The available electronic "shift-on-the-fly" system, the only one available in trucks over 8,700 lbs. GVWR, features pulse-vacuum-operated hublocks with manual override".... From the Ford Y2K F-250/350 F-Series Pickups brochure...

Jepsonfam... passing on the info is no problem, anything to help others... done it several times myself. note that I've actually posted more specific information in the last thread of this forum (Ford SD cont'd). These trucks really stand tall at the siderail so you don't want the camper package (just the trailer tow package). the camper package comes with larger tires which in turn makes those siderails even higher. there's also methods of raising your coach to get the whole a little closer to level (you want to be as level as possible while towing.... reason in past post. note that if I reprinted everything here it'd go on for just about ever! bad enough as it is. also, dually's are recommended if you're going with a coach that will put you near the 20k GCWR limit. note that dually's are only available on the 350. it also depends upon the primary usage of your vehicle taken over the length of time you intend to keep it. if primary usage is not trailer tow then you may want to think of configuring slightly differently (srw instead of 350/drw for example). remember that dually's give you a "full time" 8 foot wide vehicle (with no increase of trailer tow capacity (GCWR remains at 20k)).. plus a real [non-permissible content removed] to park to say the least. always backing in makes it a little easier, though... Brutus does that as he noted & it has always been my preference (regardless of vehicle) as well. depends on driving style I suppose. once again, see past posts. hope this helps.

Crazyelvis... spoke with Ken past week. obtained the VIN... makes it a little easier to check the VOPC & can also verify that the truck we ordered is actually the one received (once the beast gets here!). we really don't want it b4 12/1 for financial reasons.. but want it asap after that! told Ken we probably wouldn't be speaking with him again until truck arrives at yard (oh, boyyyy, the "fun" begins!). status will probably go to "locked in" sometime next week or following for sure as beast is still on schedule to be hatched week of 11/15 (about 6 weeks after ordering... can't complain about that). & looks like v10 orders are getting held up somewhat as some of the waits are getting a little lengthy. and others are getting prompt build dates. go figure, huh? note that I only check the VOPC once a week (until build) to keep the "traffic" down so don't know the exact current status. incidently, this area doesn't have much in the way of "large" goodies. haven't even found a Rhino or Linex spray-in liner dealer (although there probably is one around). & no one has aux fuel tanks around here, either. found a much better price on diesel exhaust brake than camping world though, so we're are making some progress. finally; been noticing that there are very, very few SD's around here (seen none on the road & only one in a Home Depot parking lot). the dealers have very few on their lots (mostly pushing cars & suv's)... the prices are probably a little too steep for a truck (but... people DO get what they pay for if you want to call a truck a TRUCK).

wish all those waiting for v10 builds well as July orders are just too damn long.... but at this juncture it'd be foolish to throw in the towel by marching off to another dealer. it is frustrating knowing that others (like me) are probably going to get their trucks earlier than you even though you've ordered considerably earlier. that sucks (like getting in a short line at McDonald's with a really slow cashier when compared to a little longer line with a really fast cashier!). but you've got DORA info (that is not a priority 99, right?) so just have to be a little more patient.

I placed my order on 6/26/99 for a F250 4x4 ext. Lariat V10. Almost 18 weeks have passed and still no build date. It almost makes me want to buy a Dodge or GMC.
  • bobh12bobh12 Member Posts: 140
You may want to check out your truck. A guy I work with received his y2k F-250 SD, CC, SB, Lariat a couple of months ago. If you stand a few feet behind the truck and look at the tailgate there is a noticeable sag at the left rear corner of the bed, i.e. the top of the tailgate on the left side is lower than the right. Dealer first thought bed was not installed properly, that was not it. They now suspect the left rear spring is weak. Will let you know what he final fix is. Crazyelvis and you other folks that have yours trucks may want to check it out, those of you that are waiting will want to check yours when you get them. This is not the first case of this, my friend says he has heard of a couple of others.
    Good Luck

Holy smokes!!! I just did my morning call to the VOPC, punched in all the information and instead of "clean and unscheduled" the message I got said "we are unable to locate the information you entered". Figuring that I must have punched in something wrong, I called again. Same result. Thinking I must be having a REALLY bad morning, I wanted a 15 minutes and tried again. Same result again. "We are unable to locate the information you entered." I KNOW I punched in the correct numbers. Has Ford declared me the equivilant of legally dead or something. Anybody know what could be the reason? This is really getting frustratin'.
  • donlynchdonlynch Member Posts: 8
slowhand7 - I got the same message this morning and again a few minutes ago. I imagine Ford is just having a little glitch in their VOPC system. I am beginning to believe this is another one of Ford Marketings patience exercises for us to endure so we will be happy when we get the truck !!!!!!!
  • slowhand7slowhand7 Member Posts: 5
Thanks for the info. You're right. Probably another one of those character building exercises to determine if we really, really want a new Ford truck.

crazyelvis (post196) same problem with my sd250 v10 2wd. mirror on the passenger side vibrates does anyone know if you can tighten these?? standard mirrors good view on left side, dead-spot trouble and vibration on right. also, i'am picking up a good bit of vibration through the floorboard nothing i can't live without if it's normal just a little distracting (after all it IS a truck)...also,F.Y.I.i have to park out in the weather so i went down and got a windshield cover (actually made it myself from reflective material) that i can throw over the outside of the window.(I have enough to tuck into the doors on each side) This usually takes about as much time as your normal sun shade and has several benefits..(1).I'am no M.I.T. grad but it seemed to me that if you want to keep the sun out of your vehicle, stop it before it gets through the window. This makes a noticeable difference inside on a sunny day.(2).I'am also lazy this means i don't like to scrape ice or snow off my window or wait for it to defrost,or wipers to de-ice I open up my door, give the thing a shake,go to the other side open that door, roll it up, throw it in the back and it is usually dry by the next time i use it..I hate to sound like a commercial but for just a few seconds of my time it saves me a lot of hassel..just thought this could be useful to some.

1999 F250SD XLT CC SB 4X4 V10 Auto 3.73 LS ESOF 12,200 miles since April. First off - I love my SD! Anyway, I went home at lunch today to drop off my work car and get my truck so I could drop off the beast at the dealer for possible warped brake rotor replacement (I know, run-on sentence). She has sat in the driveway for the past week and a half with limited use (just a few local errands). Last night I started her just long enough (2 minutes) to reposition her in my driveway (nose up approximately 15 degrees). So at lunch today, I was greeted by this cloud of smoke wafting past my window on startup. First time I've noticed it. I'm planning on asking the dealer what's up, but after a year in this conference, I've come to value the opinions I receive here. So fellow SD lovers, any ideas on problem and/or solution? My old Astro did this a little, but not till after 80K miles. I wasn't expecting it at 12K. Thank you. TO D LAKE

Order date 10/16 (F-350 XLT SC SRW LB 4WD PSD 6SPD...). Scheduled for build the week of 11/8 and delivery the week of 11/22. I sure am glad I went back and read post 588 in Super Duty II again. I thought I needed a VIN to check status at the VOPC but I had all the information I needed since the day I ordered (order number, dealer code, model year and body code). Fortunately things are moving along. So for those of you about to order, it looks like about 6 weeks for the XLT PSD combination.

For those who had just rec their 2k s/d lariets, can you tell me now, did you all receive 4wheel abs? I went back a few hundred posts and noticed that there was a little confusion on what was standard and and what was optional.Im under the impression that 4wh abs is standard for 2k lariets? thanks
  • BrutusBrutus Member Posts: 1,113
I'm pretty sure there was a technical bulletin for brake rotors on Superduty trucks produced during a certain time period, so Ford should have a quick fix for that. It's not normal to see smoke on start up, so I'd make sure they resolve that. I've got close to 24,000 miles on my V-10 without that occurence.

I'm one of those guys who removes all of the snow off my truck before I start driving. I'm big on visibility, so I prefer not to have snow blowing off my hood and roof. I suspect the drivers around me appreciate it too. Since I don't have mudflaps (yet), so the little cars behind me still enjoy some participation in my driving experience.

Someone several posts back mentioned inventing heated wiper blades, and I said I didn't think it would catch on. I withdraw my comment. Although I don't think they will help clear the window since you're just pushing water around unless the window is heated up from the defroster. However, the place it would come in handy is to keep the ice buildup off the blades. If you have a wet snow or hit a freezing rain storm (like I did in Oklahoma in January), ice builds up on the blades. Since the rubber isn't hitting the window, the wiper blade becomes ineffective. It would be, kind of, like trying to remove the snow from your driveway with a broom. It will get the big stuff on the surface, but not the rest.

There is a manual override for the ESOF that enables you to go out and lock the hubs at the wheel. When I engage my ESOF, the 4wd is pretty instantaneous. However, it might take a few revolutions of the tires before it engages. If you were sitting on the edge of a muddy bog and you were in 2wd, you might want to get out and manually lock the hubs to ensure that your 4wd is engaged immediately, rather than a few revolutions later....just in case. I've used the ESOF flawlessly for over a year in cold weather. It works great. My truck has been in 4wd the past two days because of this first snow that looks like it's here to stay. 151 reported accidents yesterday, which is actually less than the first snow last year when they had over 200.

Sounds like a Monday morning workforce at the factory on the defective spring issue if it is affecting more than one truck.

Finally got the flaps on my beast - now the step bars should be clear even in mud. For those of you looking, HUSKY (the folks who make the floor liners) are now making molded mud flaps (that follow the contour of the body right behind the wheel well) for the Super Duty. They look great and are easy to install. Picked mine up for $30 per pair. The typical brand (forgot the name) of molded flaps does NOT make them for SD, according to the local shop where I get my truck gear. Husky decided to pick up the ball.

Follow up on a previous question I posted: With my manual 4WD, I initially had difficulty shifting from 4LO to 4HI (even with truck in neutral just like the manual says). While 4-wheelin this weekend, learned that it's much easier to get it out of 4LO if, after you stop and put the truck in Neutral, you let it roll a little. This seems to free up the 4WD transfer case and it shifts easily into 4HI. Does this make sense? Anyone with MANUAL 4WD experience on SD please comment.

For those of you waiting, I know it's of little help, but it is really worth the wait........ Based on your stories allotment seems to be the key to getting good order scheduling. Someone I know placed his order with a local dealer (while I drove up to the next city for mine) and he's playing the same waiting game many of you are. No allotment at the dealer, so no response on ordering. He's reluctant to switch now too so has to just be patient. For me, it was 2 days shy of 8 weeks from order to my smilin' face pulling off the dealer lot.

Anyone whos thinking about ordering, make sure and check the allotment info at the dealer. Better to know going in how highly FORD thinks of your dealer. Sometimes a short drive speeds things up a bunch.

I too checked VOPC today and the system told me "unable to locate information". Let's hope this means our oders have been pulled............
    stay-tuned.

I just found this Message Board Last night, and like many others, I have a F250 SD on order. My order date was 8-31. I found the instructions and I have a copy of my DORA. I tried to access the system this morning, no luck. I finally talked to a person and they informed me that it was down and they were working to get it back up.

When the system comes back up what is the proper way to enter the model year. I tried 2000 the # but since the system was down I don't know if this is the correct way or not.

I am getting anxious but my dealer did warn me that it would probably be 12-16 weeks. 8 down 8 to go. Thanks for the info

First snow...Mother Natures' way of weeding out the inexperienced...I'am not sure about the heated wiper idea, but heated mirrors would be nice. At least you can soften up your windshield with the defroster. As far as cleaning off the hood, no sense in cleaning the window if you have to stop after 1blk and clean it off again ...One thing about the Superduties I have a larger field of vision than any truck I've ever driven and what a view!!! Since I have 2wd, looks like snow tires with studs and a couple of sandbags here in Colo.

As stated several times on this forum, please only use the 'automated' parts of the VOPC callin. Don't use options that get directed to a real person. Remember that the VOPC is really intended only for dealer use, not general public..
I think we're ok using the automated parts, but its reasonable to believe that if we bother the real people manning the VOPC lines, ford could disable general access to the VOPC.

I believe that the outside diameter of the various superduty tires are all the same.. (about 31").

LT235/85 R16 = Narrower tire, so sidewall is 85% of the tire width
LT265/75 R16 = Wider tire, so sidewall is only 75% of the tire width

Also, I didn't see where the Camper package required the larger tires.

I went to the F150 online home page..
    http://www.f150online.com

I noticed 2 things right away:
    a. Upper left hand graphic has a picture of the SuperDuty front grill.
    b. The cover picture (which rotates between 10 or so trucks) happened to show an F350 SuperDuty..

I guess even F150 owners dream about owning a SuperDuty..
