    3 Camrys over the weekend. I'm surprised they're out that quick, the local lease is $239 while competitors are mostly $189-199.

    Also saw a new Focus, and a new Fiesta, both sedans.

    Also saw an undeserving CLK350 owner reading her Kindle or Nook in slow traffic. Even while moving. :sick:

    Which one is the white one, about 7" size?

    Newest CLK is 2 years old :P

    Doesn't surprise me though. I had to honk at someone at a light to get going as they were playing with a laptop.

    Saw a new 5er with the M-sport package weird gaping holes front bumper.

    Oh, it wasn't new, too filthy for starters, just stood out to me on a long and painful commute.

    Funny thing was she inched forward for miles at a time and didn't skip a word!

    Do those things have auto braking? :sick:

    It's a boring car that my mother would like, nothing lost. Think of that dull C300 with a slightly bigger engine and 2 less doors. For CLK, Black Series or nothing.

    Maybe it had some kind of special low speed distronic, or she was just used to the beltway area grind.

    Isn't it tuned a little more sporty, though? Coupes tend to target a different buyer.

    Not necessarily her, she's too dumb to afford that on her own, must be someone's mistress. ;)

    I've seen people reading books and newspapers, funny that they've moved on to the latest media format.

    I don't get the big deal about the new Camry. Slightly nicer interior, similar exterior, but with weird tail lights, reduced standard equipment like power seats and a grand higher price tag in the dealer ads???

    I don't think a CLK is any sportier than a normal C. It just looks that way. It's luxury, not sport. It targets a demographic - female and usually older. The fact that she wasn't in a new SL or a new model in general says maybe she bought it herself, or she's a lower rent kept woman ;)

    They made incremental improvements in most places, but big MPG gains.

    Keep in mind a lot of Toyota owners have been sitting on the sidelines, waiting for the right time to buy.

    I see quite a few paunchy old men in SLs, not all go to hotness.

    Oh yeah, local dealer has of all things, a SL65 Black Series, used! I don't know how they got that. 210K

    When Jordan played for the Wizards he used to drive around in an SL. Saw him a few times.

    To his credit he always had the top down.

    SL is another one that for me is AMG or nothing. The normals are just kind of boring and aimed at fat old execs or irresponsible nonworking women. See, I am not biased towards every German car :P

    Yeah, not my type of car, either. I just see them as 2 ton sub-compacts.

    Supposedly the next gen will lose some 300 lbs? We'll see.

    300lb weight loss is only worth so much when you are still a 2 seater weighing 4000lbs.

    And my 3000lb 135hp fintail is more fun to drive than the E55 - the old line about driving a slow car fast vs a fast car slow.

    Everything is too heavy. These cars weigh only a few hundred pounds more than a GL Bluetec. Combined. Two old tanks = one new tank.

    I remember wanting to keep my 1st car under 2000 lbs.

    Then I tried to keep my car under 3000 lbs.

    Now <4000 lbs is an accomplishment. :shades:

    First snow of the winter, I usually drive my 02 Explorer sideways, first one side out, then the other, down the street just to get the feel for sliding the back end.
    My new one is FWD based, so I'm not sure what I'll do.

    That picture looks a lot better than the real life version...

    At least on the previous version, the SE stuff was an obvious body kit.. On the new one, it just looks like they replaced the metal body with stylized fiberglass....

    Looks like a piece is missing from each taillamp. I'm expecting to see another quarter of each taillamp on the decklid.

    More importantly, they gave it more (some) steering feel and early reviews were generally positive.

    SE isn't the volume model, I'd guess LE is first, XLE 2nd, SE a distant 3rd.

    Lemme see if I can even remember them all.

    Walking my kid to school, saw a Prius V with temp tags, Monroney still on the windows. It was right behind a newish Forester, but still seemed a lot smaller, especially shorter in height. I'm skeptical about Toyota's "space of a small crossover" claim.

    Then an E350 coupe. They seem a lot smaller than the sedans, are these still C- class based, or some combo of both platforms?

    Then a rare one - Altima coupe. I must see 100 sedans for each coupe.

    BMW 535i sedan.

    New Q5. So common around DC.

    New M37x as well, the LEDs look like 2 pair of parenthesis, like this: (( ))

    E coupe (C207) is directly related to the sedan. It's bigger than it looks. The old CLK had C-class roots.

    I saw another new F10 5er with sport bumper today, not really a great look. Also an A7.

    Yeah, a lot of sport bumpers try too hard to be aggressive, and end up looking like they belong in the JC Whitney catalog, in the Honda section, under "Clearance". :D

    At least the "lip" look has mostly faded away. Now it's big non-functional air intakes. Who says being a car designer is hard? :shades:

    Well, the E coupe and and the C coupe share wheelbase and width, and the E sedan's wider and has a longer wheelbase, so seems like some sharing going on between the E coupe and the C class. I seem to remember reading that somewhere, too...

    Yes! At one point we had the practice gym right after one of his kids' teams, so we'd see him each week.

    Even got a snapshot of my kids next to him for our xmas newsletter.

    Had to go to portrait mode, as you can imagine! Wide angle, and took about 10 steps back not to cut off his head! :D

    Funny thing was the rear spoiler was deployed - for 10mph city driving?

    Also saw a 535i sedan, an E350 4Matic, and an X5 with a wreath and red bow on the front grille, female driver gabbing on a hand held phone.

    Maybe they're right to ban cell phones out right.

    Pretty visible from the side too, but it looks good. Not sure about the rocker panel treatment. Makes me want to pull it apart and slide it back together.

    Looks very similiar to the curent model. And apart from the facelift few years ago the current one's been on the market since 99, so that's a long 14 years!

    I don't like that bumper, but a lot of "sport" bumpers nowadays looks just like it.

    The rocker panels remind me of the old Cavalier Z24, only more subtle.

    LEDs in the lights and lower in the bumper, now that's class. Damn pedestrian safety standards. At least the lights don't go back to the A-pillar or anything.

    Rockers are somewhat late 90s AMG style

    Both the new sedans. The new XJ still has not grown on me. Blacked out C-pillar just makes the back seem even more bloated.

    I like the smaller sedan, though. It's grown on me.

    Also saw an E350 cabrio.

    Then saw a silver Chevy Volt.

    Finally, a new Civic sedan. Don't seem to be a lot of them around here.

    Saw my first new Accent hatch today. Huge improvement. Somehow, the overstyling is a lot less offensive in the smaller cars. The Kia is still a nicer design IMO, but it's far from the bottom feeder looking thing the model was a decade ago.

    Not new, but also saw an R8 today, engine braking down a hill, sounded pretty hot. Also saw a late model S63 performance package, which are uncommon.

    Finally saw a new Saab 95 with CT plates north of Boston. I like the way it looks and hope to see more if Saab can pull a rabbit out of its hat.

    I like the Rio more, a bit less practical, but it looks better.

    Gosh, 3 new Camrys today. Is it already too common to point out sightings?
