My car is VON 13125xxx. I just called and I to am in BX status. I'm not sure exactly what that means besides I passed the initial edits and can be scheduled for build. Does it mean I'm waiting in the disney type line? I ordered mine in Blue, the only options are Bose stereo upgrade and power pedals.

I hear/read horror stories about the wait. I then see some very happy folks too. I ordered from a 5 star in Rochester NH (read: not that crowded!) Anyone want to take guesses on when I move to build? I'm a half full kind of guy, how about June 24th I get a D1 status.

By the way two things would bug me about waiting:
I really would have liked to have it for the summer but oh well
** easy to say if you ride a Bike
I really HATE hearing stories of a 6.1 Hemi coming out!

Heard today the my order of 5/10/04 (300c moonroof, protection group) was moved from BG to BX status on 6/09/04. Hope it will be scheduled for build in July. I think most of june is already filled.

With the Chrysler site not allowing you to track orders currently, how can I track my 300C?

    My VON is 1320xxxx.

If anyone can let me know an alternate site, I would appreciate it.

You have to do what I do now. Just call your dealership, or Chrysler Customer Service.

Called Chrysler yesterday. Ordered my 300C with sunroof on 4/19. I was asked yesterday if I was aware of the sunroof restriction. Was told that should be cleared within the next 2 weeks. So I don't expect to get the car until August. Good things come to those who wait...
  • yak54yak54 Member Posts: 72
Just found out from DC that my order of 5/10 was moved from BX (6/9) to C (6/14). C stands for sub firm scheduling for second week of July. Next is D status for firm build date.
  • pixelpusherpixelpusher Member Posts: 14
It is now 6 1/2 weeks since I placed my 300c order (May 2nd... loaded except for Sat. radio, UConnect & cold weather).

I have been calling Chrysler 2x/week and nothing has changed.. still in BGL (order passed edit.. material restriction hold) sometimes they say the sunroof issue is cleared up.. sometimes that's the first excuse rattled off... of course they "can't do anything.. and don't know any details" but "your car should be scheduled for build in a couple of weeks" ... this is my 4th set of "a couple of weeks".

My VON 1295xxxx seems relatively low compared to quite a few others who have posted on this & other boards who are seeing movement on their orders..

my dealer has ZERO info and seems to be so scared of not knowing anything he won't even call me to tell me I'm screwed... wouldn't make me "happy" but a little communication even with bad news would let me know that I actually might eventually get a car... as it is I am forcing myself to try and like the CTS more, ignore the fact that there are 42 bazillion G35's already on the road, or fall in love with the "good value" ...ugh... of the TL.

If any other car manufacturer was making something with the ballsy style & power of the 300c..................

Sheesh this is the US right? I have a pile of money and I'm WAITING?!?!?! hahahaha.. whatever happened to instant gratification <sigh>

Out of BG!!! "Passed edit, cleared for scheduling". Ordered 4/27, VON1291xxxx, with sunroof, etc! I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'll have it before the snow flies.
  • kvilleboykvilleboy Member Posts: 45
Well, I ordered on 4/12 am last time I checked (Monday) I was in BX - better than BG I guess?? Anyways, I went out and drove a Caddy CTS and Lincoln LS Tuesday and have been thinking more and more of going in that direction. I wanted the 300c but I don't know if its worth the wait.

I think my problem may be how Chrysler handles allocation to the dealer. I don't know, but if the dealer has a Chrysler sign outside the dealership and can advertise and take orders for the car Chrysler certainly ought to allow the dealers to fill them. When the dealer advertises one thing and Chrysler doesn't provide the product on a SOLD order with (cashed check) deposit, it would seem to border on fraud.

    Hi All,

My husband and I just ordered a fully-loaded (yes, WITH a moonroof) Satin Jade 300C from a dealer in Virginia. Shelor Motors, to be exact. Salesman was very straightforward and told us he couldn't give us a delivery estimate at this point. Could be 4 weeks, could be 8, 12 or even 16 weeks! He just would not commit. Sold it to us at invoice ($36,500) with every available option. My husband kept adding things after we'd left!

Anyway, anyone know any details about the Dealer Tracking Online that is "temporarily disabled" right now? How long will it be disabled? Any other options for tracking a vehicle with no VIN number? Also, how long does it usually take to get a VON and then a VIN number?

Thanks for any and all help!

Well it's been almost 2 months now and I still don't have a VIN. The dealer will give you your VON. You can call Chrysler Customer service to find out what your status is.
  • yak54yak54 Member Posts: 72
Found out today that I am in D status and finaly have a VIN #. Wish I had a web site where I could track its progress.
  • bjsohiobjsohio Member Posts: 69
If you can get your dealer to lend you their user name and password you could use the Dealer Connect website. Then post it here so we can all get in. ;-)
  • carcom2carcom2 Member Posts: 212
loaded 300C w/ sunroof ordered 6/2/04. Chrysler gave me VIN # and said car in DC status - passed edit, has been sent to building plant-framing stage; estimated shipping date today - so I'm assuming the framing will be done today. They say it's estimated 1-2 weeks to build. Then it's shipped to Dealership which could take 3 to 3.5 weeks. It's getting built!

They say they get new Updates ea. Wednesday.

So it looks like the whole process from order date to being at Dealership will be no more than 8 weeks and maybe sooner if I'm lucky.
  • aylagirlaylagirl Member Posts: 11
So, there may be hope that it will only take 8 weeks and not 12 or more? That's good news! I hope we're as fortunate.

Well I decided to look around the Chrysler dealer website to see what was available. I found my car exactly how I ordered it and it's coming in tomorrow or the next day. Needless to say I canned my order and put a deposit down on the other one! I'm thinking mid-week and I'm stylin...
  • aylagirlaylagirl Member Posts: 11
I checked today, and one week after we ordered the car, it's in BX status. Passed edit and available to be scheduled! The customer rep. advised me to check back next week, Wednesday or Thursday to see if it's been moved to D or D1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

By the way, for those interested, my VON is: 1323XXXX

Order Placed at Dealership: June 15th
Car ordered with every available option, including sunroof and nav. system. No engine block heater, that's the only item my husband thought he could live without. :)

Last wk. I was told by Chrysler customer service the 300C was being sent to the building plant-thinking it will be built. Today they tell it's in D status scheduled to be built 2nd week of July and it takes 3 days for the car to be built. I was happier last week about things than now. Seems like not everyone tells you the correct info.
  • tolenashtolenash Member Posts: 52
    Carcom2,
you ordered 6/2? and in D already...I'd be ecstatic.

I ordered 4/23, still in BX as of today. 8 weeks...no progress.

11weeks here - still BX! Who do you know carcom2?
  • wildebeastwildebeast Member Posts: 23
Ordered my C on April 17. Orginally told 6 weeks. At 3 weeks told it was being built that day. Couple days later, salesman said was error. Said would be 8 weeks. Then sunroof delays and nav system delays. Then salesman wouldn't call--didn't know status. Salesman quit or fired. Dealer resubmitted order with same order number on June 9, reason not disclosed. Manager now saying August or September. 800 number says BX status and has been for about 2 weeks now. Now hearing that not being built according to order date but according to allocations to dealers. Clout counts! Also hearing that for orders placed after July 5, MSRP will be $8-9000 higher.

Got delivery of my 300C this afternoon. (8 weeks and 7 days leadtime). Worth the wait. Put close to 50 miles on it this afternoon and I am very impressed. What a CAR! Traded a 2000 300M and there is no comparison.

I stopped by my local dealer yesterday (6/24) to check on my order (Dodge Magnum, submitted 5/24) to find it has been moved to "D" status as of 6/17, but no ship date for it yet (they did not have an update for this week -- last time I checked it was in "C" on 6/10)
According to the sales manager I worked with, DCX is allocating batches of cars with similar options to be built at a time, and when people's orders match (or come close enough) to what's scheduled to be built for a certain week, that's when the orders get completed. (since both the Magnum and 300 are built at the same plant, this would be true for both)
It looks like I will not be getting a June delivery (so no Chrysler financing rebate unless they carry that through for another month), but hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer.
  • aylagirlaylagirl Member Posts: 11
Just so you know, you don't necessarily have to have delivery of the car before you can apply the $1000 Chrysler Finance rebate. Our salesman (order placed June 15th) applied that discount to our final price (dealer invoice plus options), even though the wait was estimated to be 8-12 weeks away for delivery.

We're in BX status as of yesterday, but our dealer has no more allocations for June, so the rep. at Chrysler said it wouldn't be scheduled for build until July.

Okay so I cancelled my order and searched around for one on the lot that I liked. I went to the following site and looked up what was in the inventory for each dealer. I was lucky to find the exact car I ordered, then I got real lucky and found out it was still transit to the dealer!!

Today it arrived at the dealer, I'll be picking it up Monday.

    Warning: a bit long-winded.

On 3 May 2004, the salesman, his GSM and I agreed to put my name on a fully optioned (except AWD) black 300C they had ordered in April. One or two days later, the salesman told me the vehicle was identified as "sold to a customer" rather than just being produced for dealer inventory but that it was too late to actually tag it with my name because it was already in "D(1?)" status. He also mentioned they had the VIN for the vehicle.

On 21 May, I was told the vehicle's status was "in transit to dealer" with an estimated ship date (ESD) of 20 May and estimated date of arrival (EDA) to the dealer of 24 May.

On 01 June, I was told the vehicle was in West Seneca, NY with an EDA of 04 June.

On 05 June, I was told the vehicle was in Westborough (or is it Westboro?), MA with an EDA of 07 June. I asked for, and received, the VIN on this date.

On 09 June, a Chrysler Customer Service representative told me the EDA was 11 June and all other answers were that I should contact the dealer.

On 17 June, the GSM confirmed the vehicle was released on or about 21 May and the EDA had changed to 21 June. The GSM told me he could not tell what the vehicle's location was.

Today, 26 June 2004, the salesman told me the online dealer tracking system shows location code 2050DB5 and an EDA of 28 June. He has no idea what the 2050DB5 means. I asked him for the "Dealer Code" required for me to track status on the DM extranet/www site since I already have the VIN; he said he's not familiar with the "Dealer Code" and doesn't know what it is.

carfax.com correctly identifies the vehicle when I enter the VIN.

What does the location code 2050DB5 mean?

The salesman gave me a location for the car on two occasions. After that, his GSM said he (the GSM) could not tell from the tracking system where the car is/was. Who is telling the truth here: does the dealer's tracking system tell them where the vehicle is in transit?

Is there any other way I can track this vehicle?

    Thanks!

The Daimler-Chrysler ExtraNet has been "disabled temporarily due to security reasons". There is no way to check anything on that site until it is functioning again.

Heard it from a dealer--not the one I have already ordered from. May be sales talk, "get your order in before the price goes up", etc. You never know about these dealers. But these things have an uncanny way of becoming true.On another subject, my dealer cut me a good deal today. I had sold both my cars anticipating 6 week delivery when I ordered on April 17. Then the delays started and my wife and I only had the trucks I use in my business for about 9 weeks. Today the dealer allowed my wife to choose any used car on his lot to buy with a signed agreement to buy it back at the price I paid when the 300C arrives. She has her own wheels again. Free at last! Free at last!

I am wondering if dealers are playing around with their allocations? I ordered my 300C on 4/19 with sunroof. It seems others who have ordered since then already got theirs or are getting theirs soon. Am just wondering if high volume dealers are putting some of their orders to the end of the list every few weeks because the cars are selling so well and they need to get new ones in. And since it seems there is an allocation process, they might push certain orders out for longer.

I cancelled my order last week. Not because I couldn't wait (well maybe a little because of that). But I thought this is the time in my life where I want a convertible. So I went with a new T-Bird instead. V8, rear wheel drive and a BIG sunroof :-)

    For the sake of completion...

On 29 June, Jim (DaimlerChrysler Customer Assistance) told me my 300C was put on a storage hold and then sent back to the factory about four or five days ago. He said he didn't know why the car was returned to the factory. He suggested that I call back Wednesday morning for an update.

On 30 June, a DCCA representative confirmed the hold and return to the factory, and indicated she thought it may have been released from the factory and was on the last leg of its journey/transit but she wasn't sure. She even consulted with her supervisor before suggesting that I should call the dealer today, that the dealer, as the car's destination, may have more up-to-date information regarding its transport. After a bit of voice-mail tag with the salesman handling my deal, I got the word: it's here! :-) I have seen it! It has a build date in May (I looked but don't recall the exact date code). Tomorrow, eight weeks and three days from when I sat down with the salesman and said, "Let's do it!", it will be cleaned and prepared for me to pick up in the evening, after work.

Hm, I am scheduled to work overtime on Friday. Is this a case of Hemi Fever I feel coming over me? Am I gonna have to call in sick?

A reporter wonders what new Chrysler 300 owners drove before getting their hot new wheels. Please respond to jfallon@edmunds.com no later than Friday, July 2, 2004 with the make/model of your previous vehicle(s) as well as your daytime contact information.

Ordered on April 17. Dealer now saying possible delivery in August or September. Dealer allowed my wife to buy any used car off his lot with a written agreement to buy back at exactly same price (Actually as trade in) when 300C arrives. They have no control but they are doing what they can. We are waiting patiently.

Ordered April 20 and was told delivery date first of June, mid June, end of June, first of Jul, I give up...was told by sales that Chrysler was waiting for a part and had to be retro fit??? and that Chrysler was releasing 10,000 cars the first 2 weeks of July. Don't know if this is true. I have searched the Web and can't find any info why this is taking soooo long.
Please does anyone have info why?
  • touringtmetouringtme Member Posts: 12
Did you grt it yet and yes the Max is looking better every day that goes buy.

My dealer in Elizabethtown KY had a midnight blue 300C on the lot Saturday. Stickered about $38+. I stopped by to see if the silver Magnum he had was the R/T, but no such luck. Anyway, if you have the need for speed in midnight blue, and E-town KY, just a short 40 miles south of L-ville isn't too far, I am sure they would entertain an offer and obviate all the b.s. and waiting. They offered me their first one at sticker, so..., but I opted for a 04 Vette at about the same price.

or sending emails to the dealer won't do it...you really need to go to the dealer unannounced and scope out the cars available...not all dealers will pull the order trick but going there in person will ensure they don't pull a fast one on ya...jackg 90seville 94k

At the end of the 13th week since order placed, I also have just moved to "D" with a VIN. Chrysler said to be built "end of July."
  • bobonosbobonos Member Posts: 8
Also got same info from customer service. 300C ordered April 14th, now in "D" status w/ build to begin last week of July. Told that due to unspecified delays and "extra quality assurance" not to expect delivery before September. Hope it's sooner rather than later, I fear the Caddy's trans won't make it that long.
  • carcom2carcom2 Member Posts: 212
My 6/2/04 order of loaded 300C w/sunroof is in D1 status with estimated ship date 7/19/04. I'm hoping they're right about this. This means the car should be built next week.
  • touringtmetouringtme Member Posts: 12
Sorry, but I ordered April 20th and was told delivery June 16th and now told every Monday delivery, and still waiting. Now told was put on hold for release, and my dealer was delivered 2 300C's Monday in Jade color, they say for inventory and that they had been ordered long time ago. This car will be worth the wait, but too excited to wait. Lots of chatter about delay's.
  • carcom2carcom2 Member Posts: 212
When I called Chrysler last, they said when the car is being built, Chrysler (customer service #) says their computer gets updated to show it's being built. b So, did you get a firm ship date or estimated date? I would think you didn't get a firm ship date unless the car has been built? Has it been built?
  • mikemullin6mikemullin6 Member Posts: 16
Unfortunately, Chrysler customer service does NOT get accurate, nor timely, data on cars during production. I learned this first hand from 4 painful, frustrating, months while my 300C sat at various stops from Brampton, Wonderland, Marion (OH) and, finally, my dealer in Woodhaven (MI). The only way I knew where it was, and its status, was from insider (factory wmployee) info and, later, I snooped around and found the Chrysler employees who REALLY knew what was happening.

The last time I checked with customer service, they told me the car was in some 'kind of hold' and they didn't know the exact location. At this time, I knew the car was sitting in a lot in Marion (OH) waiting for the go-ahead from someone in Auburn Hills to give it a green light to ship. When I located this 'someone', the car was released and delivered the next day. All this happened in spite of uninformed customer service (not the peoples' fault) and complacent dealer. If I hadn't intervened, the car might still be sitting somewhere. I've had the car a month and am very pleased with it.

Sorry, to be discouraging but you're only going to know the exact whereabouts of your car, and its delivery date, when you see it sitting in your dealer's lot.

Good luck. Be patient; the car's worth the wait!
  • trashman2trashman2 Member Posts: 44
i talked with my dealer today about some mud flaps.he told me he would install flaps and labor no charge for being so patient. see good-things come to those who wait. if they are not out of style before my car gets here.
  • touringtmetouringtme Member Posts: 12
I was told by my dealer we have a VIN 1st of May, being built and then told car complete and being loaded Friday June 11th and delivery June 16th, this is the original date of delivery, and every Monday delivery after this date. Was told complete and on hold for release, does not make sense. My sales guy calls me every week, gives update. Hopefully coming in today....
