tundra_guy: Crying? Only from all the laughter from reading about all the naivity of Tundra owners.
obyone: Sorry. I think you have the same scarlet fever that Rwell and bamatundra have had. I have never owned a Tacoma. Anyone that knows me personally would get a hernia laughing at that comment. Camry? Not even in one of your stupors.
I have never owned anything but Fords, and till I have one that craps a Tundra, I won't buy anything else.
In the morning when i go to work i see maybe 20 silverados (model yr 99+) 20 fords and 20 dodges sometimes more but usually not less. How many tundras? 1. I come to work in the parking lot i see 9 silverados, 11 f-150's, 8 dodges. How many tundras? None but there are 2 tacomas.

Stayed far far away from it because the products were made cheap and with slave labor. They still have an element of that name of use once then throw away. This is why reputable service shops won't recommend rebuilding a Toyota product. Even less reliable after a rebuild. Another reason why you will pay as much for a used Toyota engine from a junk yard as you will for a brand new factory fresh engine for any of the domestic trucks.
Have to appreciate all that Toyota quality.
With the record winning sales of the Tundra so far, I don't think Jimbo will have to worry about seeing too many Tundra's on the road. Jimbo will just have to be a blow in a less truck for more money Tundra.
Ryan
I never said that Ford's are perfect and without any problems. All trucks are prone to problems as any mechanical device is, even your midsize Tundra. But if you are wanting to throw about problems and discredit Fords, lets talk about all the Tundras with vibrations, access doors coming open w/door ajar lights continuously coming on, slow starting/turnovers, and so on. With only 100k units or less on the road, the number of complaints by comparison is way larger than 2%.
The Ford Triton engine has been on the top 10 best engine list for 3 years running. Havn't seen that so called high quality Lexus car engine of the Tundra even mentioned. Guess the Triton engine is rated a much better engine. Couldn't be.....
I would say you are throwing stones in a glass house. Your Tundra has no higher quality than the worst case scenario Ford, Chevy, or even Dodge.
As far as the Bozo commment, I have never been in the circus or even dressed in a clown suit. I think they reserve that to the real clowns that are full of jokes and make people laugh with everything they say. I would say you fit that bill pretty good. Maybe you should apply for the job. At least you would be getting some value out of making us all laugh, something you didn't get when you bought the Tundra.
Good day sir.
there is most likely slippage around the tire

meredith, please total this topic, they do not

"Just the facts Ma'am"
I alredy know your answer whyd i even ask. You will avoid it i know but still i thought id give you a shot.
Ryan
Lets have the facts now little big man.
"does that mean that you're not gonna buy another
silverado? i sure this whole ordeal has been a
heartbreaker for you and would probably leave
anyone in a pissed of state of mind, especially
towards GM for having let you go through what you
have over these past months. it seems though that
you like the new silverado and it's features. it
also seems that if you wanted to buy another one
that chevy would build you good one if you"
ordered another one. when i bought mine i was
told that a different than normal order number
went in to the order system, which was to help
insure that the truck got special attention on
the line.
GM notifies customers of TSB's? Don't think so.
Latest notice was recall for placing sticker on
brakes to warn that the lines must be supported
when working on brakes...a no brainer. I thought
that it was absolutely stupid since they had so
much other crap going on that needed to be fixed
and they come out with something that any mechanic
worth his salt would automatically do. Leave it to
GM...
i feel for anyone who gets stuck with a lemon. i
came here to see what you guys had to say about
the tundra. and as always, it turns out to be
nothing more than a bunch of arguments that never
go anywhere. had toyota made the tundra with a
longbed and extended cab i probably would have
bought it. the year before i had a '99 tacoma and
i worked the crap out of it and it never
flinched. so being a believer in toyota is not
the problem for me when coming to read up on the
toyotas be it a tacoma or tundra. the problem
here is that you guys act like a bunch of NERDS
and get so defensive that it becomes natural to
take shots at all of you.
oh yeah, "special number" was just what it was.
the district manager was involved in the reorder
and his connection did help in getting a truck
that was not just slapped together like some of
the chevys i've seen.
better tires so to keep a Ford truck or suv cheep
use cheep."
You are blind, right? You actually have a
driver to drive you around, don't you. You can't
possibly look at a Toyota product and not see
cheap (that is cheap, not cheep).
How about for starters, thin and uncomfortable
seats without even lumbar support, cheap and tinny
sounding stereos, thinner sheetmetal (so thin they
didn't even need to use hood springs, but, "cheep"
single support rod like a car hood), smaller
dimensions at every corner (less sheetmetal and
parts means "cheep"), no locking differential on a
"supposed" TRUCK and the diff they did use was
robbed from the even lighter and smaller Tacoma
brother, hard "cheep" plastics on dash and interior fobs and knobs. Yeah, I am really jealous of all that high quality Toyota materials. So jealous that all I can do is laugh at your post even harder for you actually believing your Tundra has a higher quality fit and finish than a full size big three truck that have been making trucks to American's standards for over 50 years. Toyota had a chance to really take part of the full size market. All they did was shift their Tacoma buyers to buy the Tundra and weakened Tacoma sales. The Tundra is a nice alternative to the Tacoma, but nowhere near competitive to a full size truck. Now the sales figures reveal that to be true. Sorry. "Facts are facts".
He has already posed as a Chevy owner and totally embarassed them. I think he is the reason why Chevy sales have decreased 15% while Tundra sales have gone up. It is all about getting market share. Very effective, huh?
He will be coming back next as Dodgelightfool. He intends to totally discredit Dodge owners also.
DBhull, aka budlightdude, aka Zbad71, aka budlightdude 1,2,3 aka F15fool - "Just the facts Ma'am"
Ford and Chevy appeal to a different class of
buyers that can't tell quality if it hit them
between the headlights. You guys really don't have
a clue, do you? You probably think Cadillac is
better than Lexus or BMW because it's bigger. Maybe
you think McDonald's makes the best hamburgers
because they sell more than the competition. You
might even say that the Tundra is in the same class
because it has a steering wheel and four tires
etc. A Mazda Miata is about the same size as a
Ferrari (same class???)Let's hear some facts and
not some advice from a two year old!
Ryan
now i see the light. today i'm gonna trade in my
rado for a real truck. the "toyota tundra" is
gonna be the truck for me. hopefully they'll have
what i'm looking for. let's see, i need an
extended cab with 8' bed, at least 285 HP, tow
haul mode type transmission, tow package, dark
interior w/bucket seats, etc.. man, i can't wait
to go shoppin' cause i also know that right now
with all the rebates goin' on that they'll
probably trade straight across and actually give
me some moolah to boot. thanks all you tundra
guys for helping me see the light.
....redtundra
maybe it was you made a good statement
a few days ago.
Ryan
Glad nobody has you fooled. Guess that means you will be holding on to that mid sized truck of lesser quality a little longer. That means the full size trucks will remain the best and most value for the money. As long as a few people still are naive and buy a Tundra on a Toyota sales pitch, the big three will continue to provide the American truck buyer what they want and ask for....a real full size truck with full size truck options, and for less money than those subcompact Toyota trucks.
Now since this truth is no doubt going to hit even more nerves, I expect more third grade comebacks and namecalling like the ones above.
