1959 to 1961 all I know-but what a picture. Those were the days-forget refinement.fitment airbags, enviromentaly correct and all that other sissy stuff. Look at that chrome! We had our priorities right back then. That was real shock and awe.Terrorist would have to be out of his mind to mess with people who build and drive something like this. GREAT PICS
Not surprisingly Lemko seems to have nailed down the members of our Fin Fest with one exception. There is a pair of fins barely visible between the tan '61 at the extreme left and the Red '59. I think they belong to a 1960 like the car next to the '58 on the extreme right.
Holden Ute ... news article that it and a wagon version of the Pontiac G8 will be available in the next year or two.
Right Micheall, it's known as the Holden VE Down Under. It's curious to me that in Oz where they have million of square miles of roadless outback they prefer car-based pickups (called Utes) while we use truck-based 4X4s to go to the drycleaners.
Beats me but I'll bet it is either a one-off concept or a kit car, possibly built on a VW Beetle. The front looks like it was lifted from a Javelin or AMX.
Cute, that's a Smart ForTwo and a 'Yoda Siena. Note the Smart is nearly as tall as the Minivan.
I saw one parked the other n ight and I couldn't get over how short it looked when pulled all the way up into a standard parking spot. You could easily have parked another behind it.
In Olde Blighty they call it an MG-A FHC (Fixed Head Coupe). Dunno the exact year but it looks like the '58 my college roomie had. He was a big (6'1 or 2) broad-shouldered guy and I don't think he had tiny feet We had some great adventures with his odd little sportscar including sneaking into a parade for Gov. Nelson Rockefeller (try doing that today!).
The problem was foot room and head room. Side to side on the MGA FHC wasn't bad. So if you were a virtual gorilla with tiny feet and a short torso you were fine. I doubt I could even drive one if my life depended on it.
Almost as bad as a Lotus Europa, another impossible car to drive for 95% of the human race.
1961 Chevrolet. I assume it has the 283 cu in V8 because it does have the flags in the black field in the chrome above the rear wheels.
Correct on both counts but you didn't mention that it's an Impala. A buddy of mine had the same car until recently with a 283 and the flags you say are indicative thereof. IIRC 327s and the handful of '61 409s had an additional badge in the front fender.
I had a 61 until 1980. But it was a BelAir (I think) and had different side molding. It had a 283 and Powerglide and I can't recall it had flags anywhere. I don't think I have any pictures of it either.

Ended up dodging the driver side fin by inches and only got scrapped up really bad instead of being impaled.

And I read that it will be sold under the Pontiac banner.
Yeah, but who'd want to go there in anything? Heck, even the paved roads are scary enough down there, from what I've heard.
Their "ute's" range from work-duty strippo's to fully loaded, 4-door "crewman" styles with 400HP V8's stuffed under the hood.
Be nice to see a revival of the El Camino and Ranchero.
Amen to that thought. Always thought they were really good ideas. Probably died because of the baby pickups from the orient.

I was playing with Photochop and having fun with that.
The length covers the van from the front bumper to about 2" past the A-pillar. It's hilarious.
