    The 67's just like the Camaro's had those vent windows on the sides. Boy I do miss those little vent windows.

    Ah well, the CJ-5 is so obscure over here that I don't think I have actually ever seen one in Britain - Jeep didn't start imports until the early 70's, so they must be pretty rare..
    Only early Jeeps we get are the proper WW2 ones, which were here on a more organised import arrangement ie lend-lease.
    I think Jeep was reluctant to enter the UK market before the mid 70's against LandRover, and all their susequent efforts have been on leisure rather than working vehicles.

    The grille almost implies BMW or Pontiac, but it looks more eastern european to me. Just a guess...an early Volga?

    It has kind of a Sunbeam/Armstrong Siddeley look to it, but I don't think it is one of those. Very British though.

    It's pretty obscure but yes, it is English. I'll leave it up for a while to see if Magnette gets it.

    Lanchester Sprite - they made about ten of these in 1955/6. It was pretty much their last car....The basic design was reworked as the successful Daimler Conquest.
    They were by then a minor subsidiary of Daimler, but Lanchester was one of the great cars of the early 20th century.

    The early cars are very interesting...centrally mounted large 2 and 4 cyl engines with lever steering and a planetary transmission, IIRC.

    My hat's off to you Magnette! It is indeed the Lanchester Sprite, an offshoot of the nearly as obscure Lanchester 10, ca. late 40s/early 50s.

    Until only about five years ago there was a Lanchester Ten running round in everyday use in a nearby suburb, and I think I've seen it parked in somebody's front garden nearby even more recently, but that is the only post war Lanchester I have seen for years other than at car shows.

    Every November, of course there are a few on the London - Brighton veteran car run, but they aree decidedly too early for this forum being 1903/04...

    The silver car is indeed a late Pantera as evidenced by the fender flares.

    Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ (Sprint Zagato). The first few in 1959 had similar grilles to each side of the main grille, with two strips, but plexiglass headlight covers. They went into production with exposed lights, but for 1961 they changed to a side grille with a single chrome bar, and went back to the plexiglass, together with seperate sidelights. As this has exposed headlights it's 1960.

    Reminds me of when I used to valet park for a restaurant, way back in college.

    One day this Pantera pulls up, I'm thinking it's the luckiest day of my life, but then the guy finds a spot and parks it himself. :cry:

    I got to park a lot of nice cars, but never one of those, they're so rare...

    Considering the contortions required to get into a Pantera, and the lack of visibility once your there, perhaps you lucked out after all. ;)

    Guessing on the year.. I had a '67, but it didn't have the grills on the front fender...

    I bought it in 1985.. It was my first German car..

    French cars are either gorgeous or completely hideous. That one falls in the latter category. So does my brother's Xsara Picasso, which looks like an egg.

    Nope, it's a 1970 2800CS, hence the fender grille. The 2800 was identical to the fabled 3000CSi except for the motor.

    I considered that... but, darn if that doesn't look like 2000CS on the rear deck lid.. guess it is the glare off the chrome..

    Easier to spot the 6-cylinder models in profile or front view shots...

    3.0CSi, not 3000...

    I know the one on the left is an FSO Polonez, but the one on the right's name escapes me... It's obviously based on the Fiat 124 though, but I don't think it's a Lada Riva.

    ...I hope I didn't ruin Magnette's fun :P

    Both cars are products of Polski Fiat, sometimes known as FSO. The car on the left is indeed the FSO Polonez 1500, the one on the right is indeed a rebadged Fiat 125, known appropriately enough as the Polski Fiat 125P. ;)

    1963 Chevrolet. It must be an Impala. The motor emblems I can't figure out. The flags look typical so that would mean a ?327? motor.
