Congrats on the burb...The Denali is tough to wax and the burb is longer....LOL

would be dark carmine. Isn't that what Ryan recommends?
They are big - I knew that a puny hoe or yuk wouldn't do. How can I invest in Zaino stock?

I sold the Ado? and replaced it with a Burb?

If you bought the power seats you can raise the bottom cushion which effectively lowers the lumbar support. I do this in mine to fit my back and also to change position a little on long drives. Of course the manual seat people out there don't know this trick. I also think the lumbar adjustment doesn't go low enough, it should go all the way flat. Most of the time I like a fair amount of lumbar but sometimes it's nice to slouch too. It took me about 9000 miles to really get comfortable in the seat but I'm kind of weird that way. Hang in there, you'll get used to the seat. I'm quite happy with mine, even on long drives.

I had the dealer remove the 4x4 label when the truck was new. You should do it soon if you are ever going to. I hear a heat gun or hair dryer is the way to do it. You could have the dealer or a body shop do it cheap I'm sure.
  • jaijayjaijay Member Posts: 162
Tim I thought your truck was a lease. Did you sell it out right? Right now I have the same situation with my 1500 and have ordered a 2500HD Duramax to pull a fifth wheel trailer. If I have not gotten the trailer I would keep the truck. It has been an excellent vehicle with no problems although it does not have the ummph to pull the trailer. However when the 2500HD comes in I do not want two vehicle payments. So selling it is how you got out of the lease?

Whether the Sub is yours or not doesn't really matter, but here's a tip for the folding seats: If you want them to be flat, pull out the head rest on the back seats. I needed to fold flat a Blazer I rented in Texas a while back and learned that to fold the rear seats all the way down, that's what ya gotta do.

    Nce truck, yours or not.

    ovalley,
Thanks for the response. I have the lumbar support control turned as low as mine will go. I'm wondering if there is a way to make it go completely flat? Or if there is a way to raise the seat (other than sitting on a towel or such).
I'll check the ctr console air ducts for alignment or obstructions.

    mgdvhman,
Thanks for the response. Yes, I knew about the vent adjustment wheels. It never hurts to be reminded of the obvious.

    vince4,
I didn't get the pwr seats. I thought I was getting bucket seats with manual adjustments. The manual adjustments just aren't adjusting enough. Do you know of some way to raise the seat? I'm not used to it yet (only 1200 miles). Sometimes it seems to fit just right sometimes...
Thanks for the info on the decal removal. Hair dryer or heat gun seems to be the way to go. Not sure yet if I will remove the 4x4 decal. I'm kind of a minimalist when it comes to decorations. I know its a 4x4 and I'm planning on having it for 10-12 years.
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
Ado wasn't a lease..I almost took that route...but decided to Buy...it just made more sense to me...

Seat trick....Thanks..I didn't know that...I thought it was kinda dumb to not have them fold flat...I figured maybe if the fronts were a little more forward......maybe?

    Be gone all day....enjoy

Same on the Denali. Kind of a pain if you ask me. Only time I had to do it was to load two a/c units into it. Should have used the truck. Loading 5/8 plywood should be interesting. Figure on a lot of splinters stuck into the carpet...one thing good about pewter....no malm's...LOL!!

    Dean
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
What kinda doors you have on the denali? Ive put plywood in the back of tahoes and its not that much of a pain. Once you get the first sheet in its easy. A minivan is the worst.

Swing by menards here and ill give ya a hand loading it.

(why dont you use your truck???)

yep i hate that the one and only time i had my truck it went in clean (washed day before) got it back filthy took 2 wks to get back to looking the way i had it. OOOO i was so pissed. But hey i got a free oil change and bodyshop coupon (which my mom used) out of it.

    Ryan
  • obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
Tim said he had to try it sometime with the burb. Worst the Denali has seen is the two large a/c units which filled the backend up. Good thing it was packed in cardboard so it could slide in and out. If they were on pallets....

I would have used the truck except the dealer had it for about a week. Just one of its many days spent there. What pisses me off is that the shop foreman always says that its the cleanest truck that comes in. I told him it would be nice if it looked that way when I picked it up. They park it in a garage and is covered with dust from top to bottom like a new truck looks like before prepping.

I know for you guys its mid morning Thursday. For me its 3:00 am and still typing away at the 'puter not having slept yet....

Hey Tim, I know I asked before, but is there anyway I could get my hands on a couple of those Dunkels. Remeber you posted the link once. Don't think they ship out of state though.

Anyway...back to trucks before I get a warning from Meredith. So Tim, what's with the pewter other than not having to clean and polish as often.

  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240

pewter he wanted to be with the "in" crowd haha

Im telling you it was free he didnt pay a dime for the burb thats why its not carmine

    Ryan
  • obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
out for that new Orange color. Forgot the actual name of the paint but, yes, I do remember him saying orange. Don't know if the burbs come in that color tho...plus with limited production on the 2500 burbs and constraint on the 8.1. He would have to settle for the pewter if he wanted one within the next year...

    Dean
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
    he didnt get the 8.1 2500 its a 5.3 1500
  • obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
go back to a 1500 again. Plus a 4x4 burb with the 5.3 would be a snail. Truck would be much to heavy for the 5.3. Not saying that the 5.3 is a dog...but in a burb...thing be working overtime for sure...
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
ill go back to the pics but it sure did look like a 1500.

    Ryan
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
it is a 1500. it has 1500 rims on it.

Tims a sell out. My new guess is his neighbor bought it and he took some pics of it.

    Ryan
  • mgdvhmanmgdvhman Member Posts: 4,157
    LOL

..if it's the neighbor's....why is it full of my stuff?

Dunkel....they closed for a while to re-model into an up-scale Resturaunt instead of a bar....and should be open again soon?

Before that they had cut back production and only had 1 gallon or 15.5 Gallons to go.....

if they got 1 gallons...I can send a few...better wrap the heck outa them though.....and make sure ya drink it all in one day......but I can't tell ya how good or bad it's gonna taste after getting freezing in an airplane...the hot as heck in a UPS truck...much less shook to heck for thousands of miles?.....it would be much easier if you just came here.....
    LOL

    gone for real this time

    - Tim
  • obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
it has the onstar as can see the antennae. Hmmm...the seats and the brake pedals look kinda broken in tho....maybe there is a story behind this after all...LOL

They sell Dunkel by the gallons? Whatever happened to kegs....

    Dean
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
ok its not a neighbors i doubted that one anyways.

But it is a 1500 isnt it??? You dont dispute that.

My next guess is police auction haha?

    AM I GETTING CLOSER YET???

.....Dunkel is 1 Gallon kegs...kinda like big moonshine jugs...they call them growlers...they have 1/2 BBls also....That's what I buy....I'll check into it...

Police auction?....hmmmm....1/2 ton?....hmmmmmm....perhaps it is?...or maybe this 2500 has 1500 wheels?.....or there is something unique about it and that's why it came Tim's way....hmmmm....why would Tim go to a 1500?
    ..has he started a family?
..Has be gone into the biz of hauling elderly people to homes?..
...is he just having fun with his buds?
...or did he do really good body work to his Ado?

it had 126 miles when he got it....has 584...3.5 days later..

where will the story take it's next fold?....
...will the shocking truth comes out?
....and will he get the girl...

...tune in next time for Burb or No Burb..

For the guys talking about hooking up the Snow Plow prep wiring, do any of you have extended cab trucks? When I was ordering today the computer said that the package was only available on regular cabs? I think that is weird, but I don't want my order to be rejected because I selected an option that isn't available. I really want the bigger alternator and radiator, and stiffer springs won't bother me, but I don't know that I'll ever plow with it.

But the big news is that i finally ordered! After posting or reading for over a year I finally pulled the trigger. Decided on a 2001 2500HD, extended cab, 4x4, LS. 6.0, auto, etc. Indigo Blue, with black flares (Ryan should like that) I don't want to make this post a book, so I'll quit. I'm excited, but now the wait begins!! Now back to guessing what will unfold with Tim's Burb story?
  • gsxr1216gsxr1216 Member Posts: 62
My 2000 3/4 ton LS 3dr ext cab has the snowplow prep group, i did not need it but it was on the truck, plus i figured the second battery wouldn't hurt. Hope that helps you out.
  • mledtjemledtje Member Posts: 1,123
If it isn't available, the dealer ordering software won't let if be put in.

So, if they took the order, it is available. Now you just have to see how long it is before GM allocates and schedules it.

Check on Wheels Inc for current production delays.

Talked to my dealer yesterday and guess what, the order for my two-tone 2001 Silverado LS ext-cab Z71 will not be accepted until November. In fact, according to what he received from GM, all orders for two-tones (option ZY2) will be rejected until November.

Looks like this truck is going to be a Christmas present for me.

Darn, I was hoping to break it in during hunting season, but the late muzzleloader hunt ends mid December.

Has anyone tried or seen those new stainless steel bug deflectors? Saw one advertised for $99. Just wondering if they are as good as the Lund for a Silverado, you know wind noise, etc.

Looks pretty good, I like the pics, I think tahoe looks like a nice dog, got a good name too. Your house construction looks like alot of fun, we did that in 95, had a blast, blew the budget, but anyways your like to bfg is too the wrong place, bfgoodrich.com is not the link to the tires, they sold off that division many years ago. Looks like you need to take you "chevy tahoe" bird hunting sometime. LOL on the house

I think Ill keep doin my deer huntin with my 1100 12ga, 54 cal muzzelloader, and bird hunt with my overunder, I really wouldn't want the new ar15, no need. Although my 7.62x39mm is alot of fun to shoot.
