You can save a boatload during Lexus'es December to Remember Sale. If you can wait two more months, I think would be a good idea. My cousin got his ES 330 at nearly invoice price.

    Hi,

I am in love with the Lexus IS250, but don't want all the bells and whistles they come with at the dealership. In particular, I want to reduce road noise by getting the 17" wheels, but all CA vehicles are shipped from factory with the 18" upgrade. Therefore, I would like to special order the IS the way I want it, but the dealers I have asked flat-out lie to me and say I can't order it. How do I get around this? Please help! Thanks- can't wait to own one like you guys!

I am going to buy a 07 IS however can't decide between a 250 or 350. Is the extra cost of the 350 worth it?"> Please let me know your thoughts and comments.

    Thank you

I am getting a quote for an IS 250 RWD with nav for $33750 plus tax and license.

I think thats close to invoice, is it worth waiting two more months ?

also when does the dec to remember thing actually start , end of movember ?
  • fltomfltom Member Posts: 2
That looks like a good price what city is the dealership that quoted you that price located?

I have decided the IS 250 is the car to go with. Giving up my Porsche Boxster. I want the IS 250 with Luxury Plus and NAV also a set of mats comes to 39,004 MSRP 33,967 Invoice (through a USAA buying service). The local dealer in Dallas-Ft Worth quoted 39,076 and he called me to give me an offer 37,850. I said thats a start and I will get back to him. He said he had one onthe lot ready to go. I am in no hurry since this is a family car in addition to my company car. He doesn't know I want to sell or have a second car (the Boxster.)

So now the fun begins. I will try a negotiated price through USAA (internet) then try to get the dealers to 34,900.

Though I mentioned the IS250 the 350 would be ideal but my family can't "see" the difference., I might lose that battle since it is a family car.

So is my 34,900 to optimistic or unrealistic? Please advise!! Ps any want to buy a Boxster?

That is an excellent price considering that demand is high and you are getting NAVI. Yes, you are right that is close to invoice price and I doubt you can do much better than that. I believe DEC TO REMEMBER STARTS at the end of November, right around 24th or 25th.

    OK

    here goes.

You need to find a dealership that will work with you.

I found mine in VALENCIA (north of the San Fernando valley)
    Talk to the internet dept.

Because mine was a very special order (is 250 manual w/ sports pak) it got delayed (should have taken 3 months .. took close to 5)

If you can't find a dealer that is willing to make/take a special order, then e mail LEXUS NA explaining the resistance you are getting about doing a special order. It will light a fire under the a%% of the dealer(s) you name that are not co-operating about special orders.

Oh, and one other thing. Place your order BEFORE the 3rd week of the month ... otherwise the special order will not be placed until the NEXT month (ie: order before Oct 19 or 20 otherwise your order will not go in the system until the FOLLOWING month).

Also, once you do get a dealer to work with you, don't NAG them every week. I told my dealer I would call them 2X a month - on the 15th & the last day. At this time you will get all your status updates. And be patient.

Trust me, it's worth the wait.

    GOOD LUCK!!

No. Dealer will not deal at such price unless car is used. What year is your Boxster? please list spec and price. Thanks.

Three questions - 1. Where can I find the invoice price the 2007 IS 250 AWD with all the bells & whistles (except audio)? 2. Is waiting for the DTR promotion really worth it? How much will I save? 3. Has anyone bought through a warehouse discount program like BJ's or SAMS Club? How did it work for you?

    Thanks!!

I just got a Lexus 2007 fully loaded, with nav and all.
    Lease 48 months / 12,000 miles
1900 drive off, at $469 / month (incl. tax)
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

But here are a couple concerns I have.
-Residual for 48 mos lease is 48%
-I am trading in my 1999 beetle GLS, which has 62K miles on it, but honestly, there are quite a few problems like:
need new tire, new hood paint, power window switch, sunroof repair, interiot details (it's quite dirty), plus I have a small dent in the front window (hit by rocks fly up on freeway), also I noticed the car is making some noise...
Anyway, the dealer quote me $4800 for the car. Is this super low? I also hate to have to fix all these up and sell it on my own, cos it would be such a hazzle...
I know I am speaking from both sides of my mouth, but anyone thinks this deal is acceptable?

By the way, my money factor is quite good at 0.00185

Thank you all much for your input!

If Lexus offers such bad lease rates, is there a way to find private lease financing institutions that offer better rates?

There is only one recommended off of the lease guide, and says it has rates as low as .00215, which seems like a good deal.

Does anybody have experience with private lease providers outside of the car companies?
  • ubermuubermu Member Posts: 4
As far as your deal, I think they're taking your trade in and putting them into down payments to get at 0.00185.

If I recall correctly I think the base IS 250 money factor is 0.00265 with one security deposit. But you can give 9 more security deposits worth 0.0001 each, which would bring you down to 0.00175 money factor w/ 10 security deposits total.

    1st security deposit is $500
2-10 security deposit is monthly payment + $25

All security deposits should be refunded at the end of your lease.

So I would aim to get your MF down to 0.00175, and make sure you're getting all your money back at the end.

The 350 provides much more hp and performance...so it depends on what you want. I went with the 350 with all the bells and whistles...xm radio...nav...rear camera. It is a fabulous car...handles real well and great performance. My mpg is around 24 but I've only had it 10 days and the dealer has had it 6 of those. Anyway...I paid $36K for an '06.

I just drove home my new is250 today and here's the summary of the deal:

    MSRP - $37,772

Deal - $32,454 plus tax and license

    OTD - $35,500

It took me a week to obtain quotes via Edmunds and back and forth emails from 3 dealerships.

    kafizik,

what city and which dealership did you purchase from? that sounds like a great price, assuming you got nav.
  • bkcrockerbkcrocker Member Posts: 1
why do you think that everyone is trying to rip you off?
  • pmueller2pmueller2 Member Posts: 12
I got it at Lexus of Las Vegas. There was no trade-in the price included the XM Radio...memory seats (3)...Nav and a real cool backup camera...not sure if it has the fancy radio but it sounds good and the lighted "Lexus" door sills.
  • kafizikkafizik Member Posts: 2
yeah, it was a great deal. I got the car from DCH Lexus in Oxnard, CA.

Invoice was 33,229 and I got for 32,454. The car had premium package, nav, 18in wheels, HID with AFS, etc.

I have been considering a IS250 for some time now but I am adverse to paying MSRP. Based on many of the postings here, I am encouraged by the apparent downward pricing on the IS250/350. Can anybody share what kind of pricing they are getting at the Dallas/Ft Worth dealers?
  • starman98starman98 Member Posts: 119
Don't expect any good deals in the DWF area....you pay almost MSRP even for 06 models
  • pmueller2pmueller2 Member Posts: 12
Have you considered this...Lexus of Las Vegas has a huge lot full of 250's and 350's...they are selling them at cost just to move them. The list on my 06 350 was 44250...and they sold it to me for 36K. I had the factory XM radio installed for $695 instead of the 1195 standard price. Anyway...you'd be money ahead if you flew out here...enjoyed a day or two in Vegas and drive the bugger back to Texas. Just a thought.

I appreciate the initial feedback on my question. In my simple and feeble mind, I just don't understand the disparity of this pricing. I know about the whole concept of supply and demand but I cannot understand why Lexus (or any manufacturer) would not balance out supply across the bigger markets but who asked me.....
  • txteddietxteddie Member Posts: 3
Texas is a tough market to negotiate on the IS350.It does not make sense for Lexus not to spread out the supply and demand. I gave up on Houston dealers as they did not want to find the package I wanted, both in person and on-line. However, the Austin internet dept was very responsive and I was able to get $2500 off of an 06 350 with luxury pkg/ML with no hassle after Houston dealers told me that my combo was very hard to come by. I highly recommend the Lexus of Austin internet dept.

A dealer told me they have 2006 models also which they can give me a great deal on. Should I go for the 2006 model? What is the different? Thanks.
  • kenjimarukenjimaru Member Posts: 4
i say to go with the 2007 model, if you're located in the socal region, there are many good deals around that is far better than the 2006 models
  • ayoko555ayoko555 Member Posts: 2
Yeah, I live in socal region, anyone had any good deal around there? Thanks.
  • kenjimarukenjimaru Member Posts: 4
yeah, but on the 250 instead of the 350.
  • abcde1abcde1 Member Posts: 3
Has anyone recently purchased an 07 IS 350? If so what kind of deals did you see? I am ready to purchase one but I feel like I would be paying too much. I would be paying 43,000 out the door with a premium package, with nav and chrome wheels? Is this a good deal?
  • twinkie22twinkie22 Member Posts: 2
Anyone from North Carolina with pricing information on a 2007 IS 250? This is my first step to trying to purchase one, and I would like to know how much I should anticipate paying for one. I hear that Lexus is too stuck up to "deal" with anyone. :(
  • jrynnjrynn Member Posts: 162
The South Florida dealers seem to be very competitive with one another (JM Lexus/Lexus of Palm Beach/etc.)

What are typical discounts now on '06 250s/350s and '07 250s/350s (as a percentage of MSRP, excluding TTL and junk fees)?
  • kenjimarukenjimaru Member Posts: 4
where are you located at? Different regions reflect different pricing especially when most of the IS 350 are short in stock.

    Hi guys,

I am looking to lease a 2007 IS 250. I talked to a dealer in the DFW area today and was offered around $2600 off the MSRP for a 250 with the navigation, handsfree package. The money factor on the lease is what concerns me. For a 36 month lease they used a .0035 money factor and a 58% residual value (15,000 miles/year). What do you all think about this deal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
  • trini305trini305 Member Posts: 7
I don't think the dealers are competitive in South Florida or it could be me. The best price on an IS 250 with Zeon lights is $1500 at inception / $487+taxes per month for 36 months (12k miles/ year). Have you seen better rates down here? Please help!
  • abcde1abcde1 Member Posts: 3
I am in the DFW area. I don't think they are short in stock. They had quite a few on the lot.
  • pravinmpravinm Member Posts: 12
    Hi,

do you know what kind of money factors people are receving in the DFW area for the 07 IS 250s? I was quoted .0035 but i feel like that is high (on a 36 month lease)
  • j6007j6007 Member Posts: 3
I recently received offers from two Lexus dealers in the Bay Area, CA to sell any in stock IS250 (excluding AWD) for invoice price. Has anyone been able to get below invoice and if so where are you located? The specific model I an looking at includes NAV, Premium Package, Preferred Accessory Package, 18" Wheels, HID, and rear spoiler and is going for $38,127 MSRP and invoice shown at the dealer is $33,600. This invoice price is a little higher than the one calculated by Kelley Blue Book which was $33,207 even thought the MSRPs match. Does any know why there's this descrepancy? Could it be a hidden dealer fee? Any input would be appreciated.
  • mp1542mp1542 Member Posts: 1
What year model? '06 or '07? And which dealer? Thanks.
  • topgun7topgun7 Member Posts: 412
A lot of dealer has advertising cost add into the invoice. It is a debatable addition since this are group advertising stuff either for the region or coop with Lexus. I think the important thing is to see if you can get a better price from other dealer. Don't worry about invoice or not. Some cars sell for way below invoice and other sell at MSRP+. The dealer competition in a particular location dictate the pricing and the only way to find out is go shop around (or someone shopped around already and share the info).

Thanks to everyone for their helpful posts. I researched extensively before deciding on my IS 350. I emailed about 15 dealerships in Southern California to solicit quotes. Many dealerships repeated the same story... inventory is low, Lexus is not producing IS right now, etc. Several dealerships would not deal because they said they only had a couple of 350s on their lots. To make a long story short, after searching for a couple of weeks, I ended up finding a dealership who had the color I wanted and was willing to deal so yesterday, I bought a 2007 IS 350, black on black, premium package w/ 18" wheels, navigation, HID lights, and preferred accessories for $41,400 OTD, which is about $1300 over invoice. This is the first car I've bought and was dreading the car buying b.s. Soliciting quotes via the internet is DEFINITELY the way to go. I shopped my quotes to get the best price. I doubt I could have gotten the deal I got doing it the old fashioned way.

Angel745, Do you mind telling us the name of the dealer? Thanks
  • kenjimarukenjimaru Member Posts: 4
congratulations Angel, not the best price i've ever seen, it is definitely caused by the decreased supply of is 350 at this moment for the west coast lexus inventory allocation.

Lexus in Westminster. The internet manager was very nice and easy to deal with.
