I am in love with the Lexus IS250, but don't want all the bells and whistles they come with at the dealership. In particular, I want to reduce road noise by getting the 17" wheels, but all CA vehicles are shipped from factory with the 18" upgrade. Therefore, I would like to special order the IS the way I want it, but the dealers I have asked flat-out lie to me and say I can't order it. How do I get around this? Please help! Thanks- can't wait to own one like you guys!
Thank you
I think thats close to invoice, is it worth waiting two more months ?
also when does the dec to remember thing actually start , end of movember ?
So now the fun begins. I will try a negotiated price through USAA (internet) then try to get the dealers to 34,900.
Though I mentioned the IS250 the 350 would be ideal but my family can't "see" the difference., I might lose that battle since it is a family car.
So is my 34,900 to optimistic or unrealistic? Please advise!! Ps any want to buy a Boxster?
here goes.
You need to find a dealership that will work with you.
I found mine in VALENCIA (north of the San Fernando valley)
Talk to the internet dept.
Because mine was a very special order (is 250 manual w/ sports pak) it got delayed (should have taken 3 months .. took close to 5)
If you can't find a dealer that is willing to make/take a special order, then e mail LEXUS NA explaining the resistance you are getting about doing a special order. It will light a fire under the a%% of the dealer(s) you name that are not co-operating about special orders.
Oh, and one other thing. Place your order BEFORE the 3rd week of the month ... otherwise the special order will not be placed until the NEXT month (ie: order before Oct 19 or 20 otherwise your order will not go in the system until the FOLLOWING month).
Also, once you do get a dealer to work with you, don't NAG them every week. I told my dealer I would call them 2X a month - on the 15th & the last day. At this time you will get all your status updates. And be patient.
Trust me, it's worth the wait.
GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks!!

PS any one wanT to buy a 2001 35k mile blk on blk Boxster excellent condtion. $23,000?
Lease 48 months / 12,000 miles
1900 drive off, at $469 / month (incl. tax)
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
But here are a couple concerns I have.
-Residual for 48 mos lease is 48%
-I am trading in my 1999 beetle GLS, which has 62K miles on it, but honestly, there are quite a few problems like:
need new tire, new hood paint, power window switch, sunroof repair, interiot details (it's quite dirty), plus I have a small dent in the front window (hit by rocks fly up on freeway), also I noticed the car is making some noise...
Anyway, the dealer quote me $4800 for the car. Is this super low? I also hate to have to fix all these up and sell it on my own, cos it would be such a hazzle...
I know I am speaking from both sides of my mouth, but anyone thinks this deal is acceptable?
By the way, my money factor is quite good at 0.00185
Thank you all much for your input!
There is only one recommended off of the lease guide, and says it has rates as low as .00215, which seems like a good deal.
Does anybody have experience with private lease providers outside of the car companies?
If I recall correctly I think the base IS 250 money factor is 0.00265 with one security deposit. But you can give 9 more security deposits worth 0.0001 each, which would bring you down to 0.00175 money factor w/ 10 security deposits total.
1st security deposit is $500
2-10 security deposit is monthly payment + $25
All security deposits should be refunded at the end of your lease.
So I would aim to get your MF down to 0.00175, and make sure you're getting all your money back at the end.
MSRP - $37,772
Deal - $32,454 plus tax and license
OTD - $35,500
It took me a week to obtain quotes via Edmunds and back and forth emails from 3 dealerships.
The price we got was cheaper then anything we find
Just an fyi

what city and which dealership did you purchase from? that sounds like a great price, assuming you got nav.
Invoice was 33,229 and I got for 32,454. The car had premium package, nav, 18in wheels, HID with AFS, etc.

What are typical discounts now on '06 250s/350s and '07 250s/350s (as a percentage of MSRP, excluding TTL and junk fees)?
I am looking to lease a 2007 IS 250. I talked to a dealer in the DFW area today and was offered around $2600 off the MSRP for a 250 with the navigation, handsfree package. The money factor on the lease is what concerns me. For a 36 month lease they used a .0035 money factor and a 58% residual value (15,000 miles/year). What do you all think about this deal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
do you know what kind of money factors people are receving in the DFW area for the 07 IS 250s? I was quoted .0035 but i feel like that is high (on a 36 month lease)
