Well it seems everything got sorted out, but mine only had the premium package basically. RWD, not AWD. Oh and if we're getting down to the nitty-gritty, my price before TTL was $30,294

Tires for life cost $1795. You have to pay for mounting but on tirerack these bad boys cost $800 a set and the tires only have a treadwear rating of 140 so I think it was worth it.

I got a 5 yr/100K warranty for $2500. It covers every major component and it is transferable/refundable if I sell the car.

Both of these items were negotiated AFTER I agreed on a price, so there wasn't any lowering of the price simply due to these potentially high-profit items. I just like peace of mind. There was also no trade to complicate matters (I sold my car to carmax).

Any SoCal Lexus dealer worth their salt should be able to match this deal. Lexus of Westminster had a good selection but the tires for life got me into Tustin. Newport Lexus is actually the dealership that came through with the offer first but since Tustin and Newport are in the same "family" of dealerships they just matched it.

I love my car and am taking it easy so far, gotta break her in :)

Ok, Jimjai's response of 33K to 34.5K OTD as a good deal might be a little too optimistic, especially 33K, which means you are getting the 37772 MSRP package (I'm assuming) for about 30K before taxes and fees.

If you get 33K OTD for your package it might be an "insane" deal on the part of the dealer. By my calculations, he'd be losing like 2K on the car (taking into account holdback too!).

I just got my package (like yours but adding XM) for about a little over 35.5K OTD. I just drove it off the dealer's lot a few hours ago, woo hoo, I love this car - My first Lexus! (Previous Car was Benz - mo'money mo'problems) Anyway, by my calculations, the dealer made like around $155 selling this car (I'm including the holdback he's getting back, but no other incentives). For your package, 35K OTD or a little over should be your target price in So Cal; not too sure about central Cal though. Right now, you are sitting on 36K OTD.

When you step on the gas pedal, the G35 offers much more power. I test drove both car and it's not to ignore the power factor. A 2.5L will of course consume less gas.

both are good cars. Just don't listen to the sales man as they are very biased.

I finally got the paper work again, here's what I will be paying.

    Lexus IS 250 AWD
    Luxury Package
With Rear Spoiler (I dont' really want it but they threw it in)

    OTD Price = $35,250

    How am I doing? : )

    Hi,

I am thinking of getting the 2007 IS250 RWD (auto). Just the base model with NO packages, maybe just the Parking Assist Control. How much do you guys think I could get it OTD.

Also, does this car has good resale value? I dont know much about cars.

    Thanks.
  • judy10judy10 Member Posts: 4
Thanks for the input. It actually isn't 33k OTD so if I do purchase, it'll probably be about what you mentioned. Just one quick question...does your nav. system include the back up camara? Thanks.
  • jimjaijimjai Member Posts: 22
All nav system comes with back up camera
  • jimjaijimjai Member Posts: 22
I think if you can get it around 30g to 31g OTD, you are doing pretty good since the premium package (basic) always comes with it. I am not sure if you can get a car without the premium package.

I looked at an IS350 today that didn't have XM already installed. The dealer told me it would cost $850 to install it. Given the fact that the antenna is already on the roof (and assuming it's already wired), how could it possibly cost that much? Has anybody else had XM installed? If so, what did it cost?

When you don't get factory installed options you are paying for the item PLUS the overpriced installation. This is where they make back the discount they gave you for the car.

Insist on a car the way you want it with Factory installed options. It's mid year so you can get the car your way.

Went to my local dealership in Southern California n was offered $38,294.50(taxes n etc included) for an:
    IS 250 Tust/Blk
    X-Package,Premium,Navigation
I think its too high, even after they offered a (almost4k) discount. Anyone think its an average deal or should I go somewhere else. Thanks
  • sfive00sfive00 Member Posts: 5
    34000 before TTL

    MSRP is 37,700

IS 250 RWD has Navigation, Premium Package, 18 Inch Wheels
    (btw > Every Color Available)

This is at Lexus of Chandler in Arizona, price does not seem reasonable enough. Anyone from AZ know a better price for this package?
  • bayarea415bayarea415 Member Posts: 6
Got the 07 IS250 RWD Auto with Premium Package (18", HID Adaptive, Heated/Ventilated seats, wheel locks, mats) OTD for $32,500 (for bay area tax) in Southern Cal. No Nav, spoiler. Not sure if that's a good price.

Putnam willing to go like 32,200 OTD but i was already down Southern Cal.

If you're purchasing one before end of this month you should be able to get a better deal.

Hi, I just picked up my Lexus IS250 AWD, after driving 6 miles into High Way I got an Exclimation mark on the display and says "Check System" and there's another indictor on the bottom right of the display. I look in the manual and it says there's a malfunction in the tire or something. So I called up the Dealer that sold me the Lexus and he spoke with his manager, they said that because the weather is cold outside that's why it is giving me that signal. Have anyone ever experience this problem before? please help me
  • mmmcmmmc Member Posts: 16
bayarea415, would you mind telling me your price before TTL? did they sell to you at invoice? THANKS!
  • endollanendollan Member Posts: 12
I got the car for around $31,400 without TTL in December. This is in SoCal. You might need to work with the internet sale guy tho.
  • bayarea415bayarea415 Member Posts: 6
    mmmc,

I paid 32,500 out the door--includes tax, fees, dmv, etc...it's not an AWD nor got a NAV. Also got the 60 months loan with 5.75%.

It's almost a thousand miles now and it's not even 2 weeks old. So far the car runs great. Engine comes alive on the freeway. Engine quite smooth.

The only complaint is the seat. I dont think it has enough cushion cuz I can feel the metal parts.

Anyone knows how to turn off that tiny overhead light? and the driver and passenger foot lightning? It's always on!

    Hi ppl,

This is a great forum, thanks for starting this! Here's my story - I have been talking to this Lexus dealer here in Bellevue [WA] for the past week. I met him today to buy an '07 IS 250 AWD. All I wanted was the HID Lights option but of course he didnt have any. I am trading in my '04 Merc C230 Kompressor Coupe (~31K miles). The dealership offered only $16K (I still owe $12K on it) for my car and are going to order my car from Japan (w/HID lamps option only) for an MSRP of $33,675 (includes Dest fee of $715). This price is excluding taxes (9.1%). Is this a good deal? They are knocking off $2000 from the advertised MSRP. They also want me to plunk down $3000 as a deposit. Apparently they will definitely refund this money back to me once the car is delivered (~90 days for delivery). I told the dealer I'd be back on Sat to finalize the deal. Basically I want to finance the car for max 72 months and want to keep my monthly payments to approx $475 (I am looking at 6.3% APR). What do you guys think? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

Update: IS 250 RWD w/ Nav., Premium Package, 18 inch wheels, Black on Black(BASE 37,700 or so)

Brought down to 33,500 before TTL (this is somewhere around invoice I think)

All Lexus Dealers will pay this in Arizona. Might be able to get a couple hundred more off... Not sure, but I am buying at that price this weekend.

    Hope this helps...

I have checked with various dealerships in the LA area (I live in Las Vegas - but moving soon to Central Coast CA) - with the navigation system - car lists for $37772 - this car can be had for under $33,000 (before TTL)- actually, if you really check it can be had for under $32,500).
  • kcleukkcleuk Member Posts: 45
Can you scan your receipt showing the options and price? You can hide your personal info. I told my local Lexus about it and they did not believe. So I wanted to get some proof. Thanks.
  • sfive00sfive00 Member Posts: 5
    37772 MSRP can be 33,000.

I bought one at 33,500 + spoiler which made it over 38,000 MSRP.

    32,500 might be a stretch.

I live in a southern city (around 250,000 population) with one Lexus dealer. I'd like to buy a IS250 from this dealer but Edmunds says buyers of the IS in my Zip code should expect to pay full list price. I see posts on this site from LA or other big cities geting $3500 or so discounts on this car.
Is this kind of deal impossible for my location?
Should I use one of the on-line car buying services like CarsDirect and go to the dealer afterwards?
I could buy in Atlanta but I'm afraid the dealer in my home town may not give me good service if I do.
Any help on the above questions would be greatly appreciated.
  • sfive00sfive00 Member Posts: 5
you may want to buy thru costco auto program. or wait till the end of month...
  • jerry kjerry k Member Posts: 45
I can and I will - after I do the sale. My actual price is $32,200! Now they may be doing this because it's a straight cash deal - little paperwork for them. I don't want to mention the dealer until next week when I complete the sale. I will then scan my paperwork.
  • bmw55bmw55 Member Posts: 15
Thanks Sfive. If I buy through Costco at a different dealer than the one in my home town will I be treated fairly if I bring the car in for service even though I didn't buy the car there? Remember, this is a small town.
Does it make much difference to buy at the end of the month?
  • vinnynyvinnyny Member Posts: 764
"will I be treated fairly if I bring the car in for service even though I didn't buy the car there?"

As an Air Force officer, I move every three years. I also buy most of my cars over the internet. So, I have lots of experience in trying to get service from dealers other than the one from whom I bought the car. Of the Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevys, Hondas, Mazda, and Nissan I owned over the last 6 years, only the Audi service was equal or better than at the original selling dealer. I haven't tried Lexus yet, but I'm thinking about it now.

The BMW dealers have been the worst of all. Three different dealers, (one in AZ and two in VA), have given me a tough time getting service done. No loaner cars, back of the line for appointments, no parts discounts, etc. IF I buy another BMW, I will probably buy it locally so that I don't have to deal with all the BS. Funny thing is that my '04 330 Convertible has been such a great car that I'm seriously considering getting another BMW in spite of all the garbage I put up with...
  • bmw55bmw55 Member Posts: 15
    Thanks vinnyny
Your experiences with BMW and Audi mirror what is going on in my town. Your experiences with the BMW dealer is exactly what is going on here and the Audi dealership gets a lot of complements in handling all customers. I've got a 2000 323i automatic which is notorious for the trans losing reverse gear - cost of repair $5000. BMW, as of now, will not back these cars up...mine only has 54000 mi but this problem happens with cars with as little as 40000mi. This is why I want to by a IS250 before my trans goes out.

32 MPG is not good. I thought it was really good.
  • jimjaijimjai Member Posts: 22
Hi guys, I just bought my new lexus and I am so disappointed with the MPG system, I am getting average 10.9mpg which is extremly low. The estimate that Lexus have is 22 for city and 28 for high way and obviously I am getting half of it in the city. Any reason?
  • bmw55bmw55 Member Posts: 15
Are we still able to obtain the "Taste of Lexus" coupons?
I wasn't sure if Lexus has discontinued them.
  • bmw55bmw55 Member Posts: 15
Are you driving in "stop and go" traffic mostly? Also if your car is brand new you will get lower mileage until the drivetrain loosens up somewhat. The IS250 AWD can get really terrific mileage when driven conservatively. I've heard of 24-25 mixed hwy/city and up to 35 mpg hwy only for the AWD.

That's pretty much the deal I am getting (got it for $32,200)I am flying into Ontario next Wednesday to pick it up. I got the Smokey granite mica with sterling leather - what color did you get? How do you like thus far?
  • jim_beamjim_beam Member Posts: 10
    Hi endollan,

Is this the price for base with nav or some other options also? If so, can you please list them.

    Thanks,
  • jerry kjerry k Member Posts: 45
I can tell you because this is the basic Nav package out west: it is with navigation and includes a few other things - go to Lexus.com and make sure you put in a southern CA zip and choose the $5600 package - that's what is included in the $37,772.

I am in California, and was wondering what other people have paid for the 100,000 mile extended warranty for the IS250. I will be purchasing the car in the next few days, but I drive quite a ways to work, so the warranty is important to me.
  • bmw55bmw55 Member Posts: 15
I hope you consider buying your 100,000 mi extended warranty from an on-line vendor rather than from the dealer. You'll save 40 to 50%.
You may want to look at WarrantyDirect:

I have been checking with 3 different dealers in So. Calif over the last few day, and have been quoted a price of $29,880, Premium plus package without nav. The MSRP on this car is $35,220.
