It seems to be negotiable. I just leased a 2007 RX for MF .00155. He started at around .0019
  • wco81wco81 Member Posts: 594
Those are really low rates. Much lower than BMW. I thought Lexus didn't have such favorable leasing terms.
  • liverichlyliverichly Member Posts: 25
The MF might be .00155 for a 2007 RX but it isn't that low for an IS250 or IS350.

I was at a Lexus dealership today and they had a Crystal White IS 350 fully loaded. I think it had everything (luxury, nav, mark levinson audio, parking assist) except probably the radar collision warning. The card has about 1700 miles on it. The salesman said that the original MSRP was around $46k (I think that's high, from pricing on the lexus website, the highest I could get it was 45.3k.)

Anyways, they were asking $40,900 for it. According to Edmunds, the invoice price would be around $39k. What would be a fair price for a demo car like this. Shouldn't the dealer be willing to do invoice pricing, or maybe even below it?

Since this is a demo car, is it still considered "new" for financing purposes? I wonder if it has previously been titled...

    Any thoughts appreciated!!

Asking is just asking, not the final offer. Offer $3k under what they are asking, just might get it.

Can you comment on the shipping aspects. Approx what did it cost to ship. How was the paper work handled, did you do all the paper work before shipping or upon actually receiving the car. Where was it shipped to, your home, place of work, or local dealer.

    Thanks
  • sprsnicsprsnic Member Posts: 77
Where did you get this deal from?
  • jalen2jalen2 Member Posts: 7
it cost a little over 500 to ship from Colorado to michigan. The dealer over nighted the paper work to me with a pre paid over night package to return the paper work. I did all paper work before the car was ever shipped.
Make sure you ask for and get a vehicle inquiry report of the car you are buying. the car was shipped straight to my home.

Just got done test driving as was blown away by this one... just gorgeous.

Anyway, Lexus of Portland (only dealer in town) and he gave a preliminary $485 payment on the 250 AWD with NAV and the hot stereo system. 36 month lease and I peeked at the money factor and it was .00302. 60% residual. From what I read, that seems high, no? I can drive 35 miles to another dealer.

Also, I requested a quote through Costco... anyone know if I'll likely do better?
  • me21379me21379 Member Posts: 18
Thanks for the info jalen2. One more question, what is a "vehicle inquiry report"? I have wanted to do something like this but have been afraid to try it. Apparently your transaction went smoothly?

    Enjoy your new Lexus.
  • jalen2jalen2 Member Posts: 7
vehicle inquiry report is a report that list all the features of the car, any damage in shipping and a host of other info on the car you are buying.
This is my first time buying from out of state and it went very smothly. Stevninson lexus was awesome to work with..

Sorry for such a late response, this website confused me, no notification. My Dealer told me today that everyone from everywhere has been calling them. :-) thanks a mill to Edmunds.
No, my car was not a demo, 15 miles? The sales team i worked with were great and very accommodating.
Car was in the garage, along with two others in diff colors, when i went back to detail, the other black/cashmere was sold. Today, we were there again, and some new ones came in white and pearl IS 350 and 250.
The sport pkg can add some$$$ that i originally didnt want to pay, but the suspension and lowered level gives the car the ability to hug the curves Fantastic!!!!

If u lease and you have tier 1 credit, you should get .002+
or buy it thru PPCU credit union, they have great 4.79 %rates.

Good luck! The blacks go out of stock, so if u find one i'd grab it.

I was just quoted $31500 for a RWD IS250, base, ML sound system, Tungsten Pearl, from a dealer in Western PA. What is a reasonable price to offer for this car?
  • suave_tequilasuave_tequila Member Posts: 116
    No Way!!!

Thats way too cheap for a 250 RWD w/ ML?? Are you sure, since you do need to have Nav in order to get ML?? If so I'll take in a heart beat! :D

    Suave Tequila
  • jm577jm577 Member Posts: 5
there's no nav, so there may not be the ml sound system.
  • jm577jm577 Member Posts: 5
Is this a good deal? Its a base AWD IS250, tungsten pearl. Should I haggle this price down further?
  • spygirl4spygirl4 Member Posts: 2
IS 250 RWD with Navigation, premium package, 18" wheels, smoky granite mica exterior/black interior. i paid $1,500 over invoice, $33,791 for a total of $36,946.22 after T/T/L.

in my research i found that tungten silver and black are the most available colors and smoky and white are the most sought after colors, so there might be a premium for the color you want. i initially got a price that was $650 lower (thanks to a referral by chubbuni13) but they didnt have the color i wanted and i didn't deal with the guy that he did. i got the epitome of a dishonest car salesman, he even had slicked hair... cliche! anyway, he took my deposit and never delivered the color i wanted, only pressuring me to come in and look at the black cars he had on the lot.

so i went to a different dealer, Jim Falk Lexus of Beverly Hills, CA. no hidden fees, no jerking around, no sales tactics, no pass off to a finance manager. no trying to sell me things i don't need, only nice friendly service. i only dealt with one person, the internet manager who was very nice and respectful, personable, and a pleasure to work with. he took my call and reserved a car for me over the phone, no deposit. he said i didn't have to make a decision until i saw the car and sat in it. it took over two weeks for the car to come in but he was in constant contact with me the whole time. i'm glad that i waited. it's beautiful! :o)

How much did he quote you? I'm near by, and it wouldn't hurt to hear from someone who's gone through there already!

Wife & I Special Ordered an IS 250 with manual (6 Speed tranz) and Sports Package. Was originally told car was not being built or could not be built. Almost all the salespeople were saying that "it's not available that way, there's no way to get that car built that way"
Anyway 4 months later (slight delay; should have only taken 3) we anticipate delivery this Sat/Sun June 17/18
(FATHERS DAY :shades: ) or Thursday June 22nd (LAUSD graduation day :D )
Our price was $32,005 (plus taxes, tages etc) which equates to $2,046 OVER Invoice or $2,300 OFF of MSRP (sticker)
An AWESOME experience so far dealing with the Internet manager from LEXUS OF VALENCIA.
    Good Luck!!

hey everyone so ive been interested in an IS350 with nav, premium, and 18s (in socal) and been getting quotes in the mid 37k range... i got a call from a dealer telling me that they just got a IS350 special order with nav and ml sound but no 18 inch wheels or premium package for 37... id love the surround sound system but dont know if its worth giving up the premium package and if the 17inch wheels will make a huge difference in the handeling... any feedback from owners or potential buyers? thanks.

I finally got my new IS250 AWD Saturday, and I love it! Here are my particulars:

    sticker $35,169
    cap cost $33,269
    additional $3000 cap cost reduction
total upfronts $3800 (covered by trade-in equity)
monthly payment (3yr/45K miles) $441 exact

I know this is not as good as some people on here, but I am satisfied. I had a trade in that they gave me a decent price, and I wanted a certain color (glacier frost) that was not readily available. All in all, I am pleased. Thanks!
  • rshockarshocka Member Posts: 5
Is $34,000 for a 250 RWD with Navigation and Premium package on a black on black in the socal area a good price? I've worked down from MSRP of $36,504, but I'm having a hard time b/c no one has this car in stock! This is to purchase a car on the lot right now.

    Please help

I am ready to buy a IS350 but our top color choices are Desert Sage or Smokey Granite - both uncommon colors. I have contacted several dealers around Palo Alto, CA and once they hear what colors I want, I get the usual BS about "they don't make the IS350 in these colors" or "I have checked the national inventory (supposedly) and there is nothing available in the entire country".

I am willing to pay for transportation if we find the right car. Can someone recommend a professional Lexus dealer who doesn't mind doing a little searching to make his money?

    Thanks,

at keyes lexus in sherman oaks, i negotiated a price of $36,250 out the door (IS 250 with nav, premium pkg, 18" wheels). but this must be the "take what's in the lot, i'm not going to lift a finger to find the color you want" price... because after they took my deposit and promised a car in two weeks, he hasn't contacted me since.

at jim falks, he quoted me a price $1,500 over invoice which is $33,791 for a total of $36946.22 after T/T/L.

overall i paid $700 more at Jim Falks but i got the color i wanted, but more importantly the service and respect that i deserve.

    happy shopping :o)

A little off topic but still can apply to car buying, it definately influences ones decision of when to purchase.

    http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=296570

Highlights are 3 colors being replaced with new ones, 2 features previously only available in a package are available a la carte. Instead of the traditional antenna it will sport the sharkfin antenna look (I believe that's the one in the middle). Biggest tweak in the authors and my opinion is the VSC/VDIM defeat button, and there will be a second, less expensive sport package.
  • benzoservceguybenzoservceguy Member Posts: 60
Yeah, same here for us .. they are a "factory"
It's a "take what we have in stock, cause this is all there is"
But funny to know that LEXUS of VALENCIA is also a KEYES store but they were so very helpful and special ordering a car was a "no problem" and they didn't even take a deposit!!
His attitude was:"If you flake on this car, I can sell it to someone else for probably more than you, so it's no problem!"

I woke up with a hung over today, however i made an appointment with the internet manager at lexus las vegas couple days ago, so i went it with the purpose of just test driving. well, couple hours later, i ended up buying the car! i paid 33200 with Nav, 18in wheet and summer tires, preimum package and something accessories.

Do you guys think it was a good price for the car. so far i love it so much i was thinkin about sleeping in it. I thought i got a great deal, but i would like some feed back =].

    I am so happy!
  • ezwinner701ezwinner701 Member Posts: 29
wow that's pretty good. i think that's under invoice?
  • jooky833jooky833 Member Posts: 2
I think the invoice was 32000. The color was blue because i didnt want a black car in las vegas. otherwise i would baked myself alive on 110 degrees day. well, 32000 was my aiming price but i didnt get it. so I let them share the profit, the truth is since i work at the bank, i am getting such an awesome rate Prime minus 4, i cant complain.

i still cant sleep, too excited =]]

Just got back from the dealer, and walked out with an offer of $33,000 on a sticker price of $34,300. I called the dealer and told him what I wanted, and luckily they had two cars on their lot. One had just come in yesterday and was sitting in their showroom. It was the exact car I wanted: Tungsten pearl, sterling interior, premium pkg, 18" wheels, etc...

I need to put my deposit down today...any thoughts on the offer price?
  • from_flfrom_fl Member Posts: 113
    average offer.
  • agilbert66agilbert66 Member Posts: 2
UPDATE: Due to some miscommunication at the dealership, a different dealer there offered me $31,000 for the same car!! I agree that the previous one was an 'average offer', but I think it went from that to a GREAT deal. I'm picking it up tomorrow!

I'm from Kitchener. But I bought the car at Don Valley in Toronto as my local dealership failed to show any respect. Apparently the dealership in Kitchener forgets that a 23 year old can buy a Lexus too.

Can you tell me abou the deal you were able to strike with your dealer? Thanks
  • brooklynjuliebrooklynjulie Member Posts: 1
At keyes Lexus in Van Nuys, I was able to negotiate a price of $31,679.00 for a fully loaded IS with Nav and Chrome wheels. TTL was 8.75% plus I added Lo-Jack and extended warranty - they wanted $2,600 for the extended warranty and I said no way - immediately the guy came down to $2,000 so I sort of figured to myself what a timing belt might cost me and offered $1,600 - he countered with $1,800 and I took it. Whole deal OTD was 34,684.00.

GREAT CAR - I LOVE IT!

Have been getting nowhere with internet depts. of the 4 dealerships in Houston market to come off of MSRP by more than $500! Have mentioned that the rest of the country is averaging $2,200 to $2,400 off of list with the same shortage of supply. They seem to suggest that the market here in Houston is different than the rest of the country even in places with similar huge demand. Their explanation is that consumers in our market are willing to pay MSRP and that they don't need to discount. They also offer me cock and bull stories about them offering either other service features typically billed, or compting such things as window tint or other dealer add on accessories. Is anybody else in the Houston market experiencing this, or are the dealers just wanting me to step foot on the showroom to play their mind games? I've been a Lexus owner for 12 years, but have never paid MSRP! I also have tier 1+ credit, but the best money factor offered on a 36 month, 12K/yr lease has been .00295 with a 60% residual based on the IS250RWD with premium pkg., 18 inch tires/wheels, trunk mats, and spoiler. Need some guidance. Love the car but don't love the sticker price!
  • benzoservceguybenzoservceguy Member Posts: 60
Congrats on your deal.. I bought from their sister store in valencia cause no one in van nuys wanted to special order the car we wanted.
Just a few thing though - the IS has a timing chain, NOT a belt. Be careful about the chrome rims - they only have a 1 yr warranty NOT the 4 yr/50K. If the chrome peels or flakes or causes the tire to go soft AFTER 1 yr, it's on your dime and read the fine print on the xtended warranty (deductible, non covered items etc) some of those 3rd party warranties don't have very much "coverage" . If he told you it's a "Lexus warranty" I would be HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS.
Not trying to rain on your parade .. rather looking to make sure more people dont get shafted by the F&I & sales dept.
    Again, just my .02

Bought a IS 250 RWD, auto trans, Tungsten Pearl, basic premium, wheels, nav, accessories for $33700, MSRP $36504 at Coliseum Lexus. Good deal? It seemed pretty good, they wanted to clear their inventory and the color was decent for me.

Hi, I'm new at this posting thing but I'm getting a new car (finally!) and trading in my 97 Camry LE V4 that I had since high school! I can't decided between the C350 MB vs a 2004 or 2003 BMW 330i and the IS. The cost, of course is less with the CPO BMW but I just don't like the newer 2006 exterior of the BMWs. So here are some prices that I got from the dealerships, maybe it'll help some other buyers too.

IS 350 w/o nav, premium package, spoiler (it was on the car), 18" Alloy w/summer tires, 8% tax, OTD $39,700
Got another quote w/o the spoiler for $35,450. OTD $39,275

And the C350 sport sedan, internet fleet price $36,530, can't locate the email with the specs but MSRP was around $40 something.

Any advise? Also, the dealer that quoted the IS 350 only gave me $1500 on my trade in! On edmonds, it was fair to good which was from $2445 to 3100. I didn't buy it because i wanted to look around some more...and maybe wait for 2007 IS or BMW to come out??? How much do dealers put for trade in-s anyways because I tried to negotiate them separately and I think they're trying to recoop with the trade.

    Thank you all!

    ycamp,

If a dealer offers you a lower price on the new car, be careful that they are not just making it up by lowering your trade value. For someone such as yourself who is buying for the first time(?), the best thing you can do is keep the transaction simple.

Sometimes it is easier to leave your trade out of the equation. If you feel the dealer is low-balling you on your trade, check out other avenues such as Carmax. They buy your car and you don't have to buy from them. You won't always get the best price, but if a dealer is offering you bottom-dollar on your trade, it may be worth the legwork to find out.

That means, if possible, stick to one variable at a time. Negotiate a price for your new car first, and line up alternatives to dispose of your old car- whether it's private party sale, Carmax, etc.

Check out the buying tips and articles on edmunds, and also the Real World Trade Values forum. You can post the particulars of your Camry and find out from the experts what it is really worth.
