    Hi Guys,
    Just got the Lexus IS 250/Navi/2WD yesterday. (Los Angeles)
    MSRP $37841 (actually selling price is $32471)
    Terms 36Months lease (Tier 1 credit)
    $2000 Down included first month payment (Total out of the pocket)
    $440 a month (included Tax already)
    15000 miles/Year
    any comments?

    Hi kyfdx, and everybody else, this is my first time leasing a car. I am looking into the Lexus IS 250 among other cars. I am seriously considering the the IS 250, fully loaded. I will be leasing the car in Miami, and I have tier one credit. I would prefer a 2 year lease, although if it makes that much of a difference in price I would take a 3 year lease. After all is said and done (taxes, fees, etc.) approximately how much should I expect to pay per month?

    Here's a crazy deal with Hendrick Lexus in charlotte, that their "Leasing Agent" had the b*lls to propose to me:

    He quoted me for a basic is250 with nothing but HID lights and floor mats on it for 550/mo 36 months 36000 miles, 2500 down total out of pocket. That's crazy, he said the residual is 48% !!! after 36 months - BS. And that the money factor is .0035. I think that's a horrible business. Anyone knows where I can get a fair deal. I am ready to pick up the car this weekend if the deal works out. But I am not buying it from Hendrick Lexus.

    While I'm not sure of some of the details (residual, money factor, etc.), I am negotiating a deal on a '07 Lexus IS250 in the Chicagoland area and was quoted a lease payment over the phone. I'm curious if this is a good deal and, if not, what I should expect to pay.

    Is this a good deal to bite at for a 12k/36mo lease?

    I know that when the sales managers are desperate they have discounted the IS 250 more than $4000. When I bought mine I only saved 3500. If I knew then what I know now.

    Homervins, When I dealt with the dealer I dealt on monthly payment only. The paperwork has already been filed away so I don't have the answer to your question. I took the advertised specials and worked down from there. The dealership was in Central N.J.

Lexus Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2007 Lexus IS 350 with 15,000 miles per year are .00225 and 59%, respectively. The money factor would be the same for 30, 36, and 39 month leases, but their residual values would be 56%, 53%, and 50%.

    Hey bigloser68. The money factor that you were quoted is right in line with Lexus' current buy rate for this car. This is a good sign because it means that the dealer that you are working with is not marking your car's factor up to add additional hidden profit to your deal. In order to thoroughly evaluate it though you really need to find out this car's selling price. It will show you how much of a discount you are being given and if there is any room left to negotiate.

When negotiating your lease make sure that the dealer that you are working with uses Lexus Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor of .00195 to calculate your monthly payment. With your credit score, you should have no trouble qualifying for it.

    Hi homervins. The money factor that you were quoted for this car is right in line with Lexus Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor for it. This is a good thing. You are being given a pretty good price on this car as well. It probably has a spread of around $5,000 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price, so the $4,172 discount that you are being given probably puts you at less than $1,000 over invoice. If you like the car, I personally don't see any reason not to go for this deal.

    This deal would work for me, but $510 would not!!

Lexus Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2007 IS 250 2WD with 15,000 miles per year are .00195 and 55%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 48 month lease are .00195 and 46%. You definitely do not want to go with a 60 month lease. Not only is that way too long to lease a vehicle for, but Lexus' special lease program is only available for up to 48 months.

    Let's work up a couple of sample lease payments for you so that you can see what the difference between a 36 month and a 48 month lease are. Using the above lease program, an MSRP of $35,222, and a selling price of $29,350, I estimate that your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $373. The payment for a 48 month lease comes out to around $363.

    I'm not sure why you are coming up with a monthly payment of $510. Are you plugging in the correct money factor and residual value or just using one that the calculator is providing for you? You can use the formula that is outlined in the following article to work up a payment in Excel is you want: Calculate Your Own Lease Payment. That's the way that I calculate vehicles' monthly payments.

    I'm new to leasing and trying to understand the system. Could someone ballpark me on monthly payments when I lease a 2007 IS 250 RWD with Navigation if I put $1000 down for 24 months and 36 months respectively?

    I want to know this in order to be prepared when I go talk to the dealer and at least know how far or close is the dealer from an acceptable monthly payment.

    I was estimating with $1000 down my monthly payments out the door should be around $400 for 24 months and $425 for 36 months.

    This forum is extremely helpful, but also very confusing to a person who is new to leasing. So rather than pretending I understand all of the exchanges and attempting to apply them to my own situation, I thought it would be better to lay it out, even though it may be very similar to other scenarios previously discussed.

    I'm in Orange County, CA, zip 92677.

    I would like to lease for 36 or 48 months.

    I have a 2000 Honda Accord Trade-in, valued at $6000 retail at Kelly Blue Book. One Lexus dealer offered $5300 on the trade-in.

    The quote I received after NO negotiation with the dealer was as follows:

    $5300 down in form of my trade-in

    12,000 mile annual
    36 month lease = $461/month
    48 month lease = $409/month

    I do not believe the monthly includes tax.

    Is this a good rate? I had the feeling that I was getting taken advance of because I am a female in my early 30s, who is new to leasing.

    Also, I was wondering if I should sell my car to a place like CarMax, which will be it outright, instead of trying to use it as a trade-in with Lexus.

    Hi awheeland,

    Sounds a little high to me.

    I've heard that CarMax is pretty good at buying cars outright with good values. A friend of mine got over KBB for his Mercedes, so I would probably go that route on your trade.

    Then, go to Lexus and get the "no down payment" pricing. Before you go or when you get there, find out what your credit score is. One thing I found out is the credit score for a mortgage is different than for auto. You should get the following info from them:
    1. Selling Price
    2. Money Factor
    3. Residual
    These are what will determine your monthly payment.

    Any down payment you apply is called "Capitalized Cost Reduction" if I'm correct, and will only lower the payment they give you.

    The selling price on my 250 was 5872 below MSRP, so that should give you a gauge. Got it at Newport Lexus. Email the Internet department at Mission Viejo for the specific vehicle your looking at and they will generally email you a quote.

    Thanks dv8tr. I got a quote from Westminster Lexus over the internet of MSRP $37,772 and Price $32354. Based on the numbers you got, it looks like the deal I was offered is about $450 over yours, so I still have some room to negotiate. I will let you know what I end up with.

    I used leaseguide.com calculator and came up with 515.53 and the dealer is comming up with 519.xx, should I question it.
    Lexus fin. so it is .00165 and 55% residual for 36 months.
    MSRP = 40601 and buy price = 36200.
    NJ so it is 7% sales tax.
    Appreciate any thoughts on this?
