No I’m not. You and 'joel' must have me confused with ‘jipster’
I started to post, "It's not so bad" (in reference to being paranoid), but figured you'd chime in with something... YIKES!!, which is another sign of paranoia isn't it??? Anyhow, glad to see you didn't disappoint me... again. :P
But look at it a different way: all the advertisements required for the sheriff's auctions keep the local paper in business--of course they moved their printing plant to the next county a few years back!
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
Now, now my child. It is "...we TAUGHT you better than that." You don't realize that the F&I guy had to tell me about his three marriages, his two back surgeries at Duke, his three children and what they are doing now, PLUS explain 6 types of insurance, make three phone calls to the bank regarding my interest rate, take one smoke break with me, get two keyless remotes keyed, find my car manual, and write up the contract. Let me see you do all of that in under five hours. FYI, dinner was an option but I was in a HURRY. Now go find something to do and behave yourself. (See what I mean you guys?)

Excuses, excuses, excuses. You’re supposed to get out of there, put the top down, drive that beauty home and wax it.
I can see you need a few more learnin posts before we let you out on your own again. :surprise:

I thought we were going to be talking baseball :shades:
Rockies in 4, baby!
Isn’t that kinda far to go for a car? The shipping costs alone will kill this guy. Now, if you were selling Range Rovers I could understand this since they can swim.
You don’t have to believe me; go take a look at post 18151. :shades:

I heard the site got 8.2 million hits yesterday when it opened and crashed not only the ticket site but the entire site of the vendor handling the sales.
What the heck is going on here. I think I'm being tag-teamed. I suggest you look at Edmunds bylaws, that is strictly forbotten here!!

Where were you when I needed you? If it weren't for those two subjects I would have made it into med-school. Now I'm just a semi-retired engineer failure !!

A lot of the textile plants closed/are closing down in Mexico and going to China. Not even Mexico can compete with China :confuse:
I absolutely agree.
However, the most cynical people on the planet (I used to think I was one before I started hanging out here) are the idealists who've been disappointed.
If you're a trusting small-town kinda guy (like I used to be) & get screwed the first (& especially after the second) time in the "big city," it's not uncommon to go 100% to the other side.
I still long to trust people, but am extremely careful. Happily, I still find good ones out there. Several populate this board. Sadly, I'm often right in my distrust. Gosh, I guess it's called growing up.
BTW, mrsuzuki had a good question.
FINALLY picked up my new Sienna LTD AWD Friday afternoon :shades: . Had ordered back in mid Sept, came in end of Sept. but couldn't get over there till now. Blue Mirage w/taupe interior. Did not get DVD/NAV as blue ray etc. will make current systems obsolete in 2-3 years so we'll just use portables and if I can't find my way around by now, I should stay home so no NAV.
Paid $900 over invoice (yes with TDA, Holdback, etc.) plus TTL. Also bought 7yr/100K Toyota Platinum plan for 930 and road hazard for 300. F&I guy acted like I stole his kid, but other than that, he was o.k.. The guy I bought from is top shelf. Honest, straightforward, no pressure. Total time spent in the house doing the deal including test drive was probably 4 hours(over several months
As for the vehicle; ride is firm but comfortable. Handles great, love the power everything. Curious as to why there isn't a storage bag on the back of the front passenger seat like there is on the back of the drivers. Also, was surprised (knew ahead of time) that for the power rear liftgate, there isn't a button on the door itself(Odyssey has it). Gotta use the remote or start it down with a slight tug and then it goes by itself. Got 250 miles so far, so I'm sure I'll find some other little odds and ends that don't add up, but all in all a great vehicle. Gonna have it 8-10 years.
Thanks to all for all the useful info. Will put the whole story of other dealers, etc., together soon.....
Mack, hang in there !

Oh BTW he is in jail now for embezzlement. Not from us but a used car dealer he went to work for.
Can you belive still in this day and age that, that stuff is still going on.
Here close to Dayton, OH, we had a guy who was allegedly pulling a mailing scam on the dealership where he worked -- it went something like this -- he worked with a mailing advertisement company to send out those ads car dealerships mass market -- like the ones with gas vouchers, contest prize promises, etc.
If I remember correctly, the dealership was billed for like thousands of the mailings, but the advertising company and the guy who worked for the dealership didn't send them out, or only sent out a fraction of what the dealership was billed for, and then pocketed the money.
According to the local paper, the dealership got suspicious when only a couple people showed up with the vouchers they received in the mail that were for something like gas cards. The dealership I guess expected lots of people would come to the dealership.
So the dealership went to the post office to see how many of those ads/vouchers were mailed out, and that's when they really realized what was going on and things weren't really getting mailed out.
I couldn't believe it when I read that! :surprise:
family size sedans and larger vehicles is not their forte.
One pitch dark night while going to dinner in my Suzuki (shown below), I rammed into a fire engine broken down in the middle of the road with no emergency lights or blinkers of any sort to indicate. Since the fire engine was higher than my car, it essentially rammed into my windshield and ripped my hood, leaving the engine undamaged. I managed to turn my face away so that the flying glass did not hurt me.
Since the engine was still running, I backed out from the fire engine, and then went on to have a nice dinner at the Polo-Club, a nice by invitation only membership joint. I guess I was I was out to get dinner and I did not want myself bothered with anything else going with me at that time.
If anyone came to me and told me it wasn't happening any more I wouldn't believe it.

This is just me, but if they were going to take 5 hours to "do their thing", I would have said, "fine....I'll be back tomorrow after everything is finished".
They want you to drive that car home TODAY. They would have short circuited your 5 hour travail.
As a side note, I was perusing the local newspaper before work this a.m. Big ad in the sports section (first section I turn to) stating that a local dealer has brought in "repo-Joe" (I kid you not, that's what they called him) to sell his repos/lease returns at "unblievable" disounts.
They even had an alleged picture of him (it was someone, don't know if his name is Joe, or not) sitting in the driver's seat of a semi loaded with cars.
According to the ad, repo Joe travails the country looking for repos and lease returns. He loads up his trucks and is headed for some lucky city (which I guess this week, is my city) to sell his wares.
Not hard to see what's going on, but a different car ad than what we usually see.
If you put a straw hat on him the guy I bought my 95’ Bonneville beast from, while living in SC, would probably look like that today.
I can still remember when he was coming out of the showroom to greet us on the lot (we made an appointment and saw the car sitting there so we stopped to look at it) Mrs. jmonroe said, “oh brother, look at this”. :surprise: I calmed her down saying, “can’t you see the sign in the window that says ‘old fashioned car sale days’, he’s just playing the part, I HOPE “. :confuse:
Do southern car salesman still dress up/down like this for sales events? It could chase the faint of heart away.

I would prefer Atlanta or Texas but I will settle for Boston.
On a side note:
Last a Feburary a local furniture store said anyone that buys any Furnture from thier store. It was in all the comercials on TV. It is a reputable store. So who ever bought in Feburary will get their money back if the Red Sox win the World Series. I wish I bought a new living room set.
The company reported that Feburary was there best month in years. They said the way the could do this is because they had a insurance policy.
Which park?
Yeah a buddy of mine said he had to go up to Maine for tickets that cost $800 each for tickets at Fenway. I thought that was really cheap.
Who cares ... SELL !!
