Cap cost was $32799.29. with a money factor of .001875 (interest rate of 4.5%). Pretty damn good deal as stands but gets better. I had 3 more lease payments (on a 36 month lease) of $395 on a 98 2wd 4runner SR5 32000 miles, with a residule of $18433. Infiniti bought the 4runner from my leasing company for $19618. I was to pay at the end of the lease a disposition fee of $350 to turn the 4runner back in and new tires $450.00.
In closing deals can be had, You should be looking to pay at the very least $500 under true invoice.

The sunroof is a stand-alone option. But the dealer has probably ordered all his units with sunroofs and so wants to convince you that you need one (or must get one). But also, in reality a QX4 without a sunroof is a very rare one indeed.
About price, have you considered going to Canada to get a QX4 (numerous posts above)? A QX4 with AWD, sunroof, Premium pkg, and Sport pkg will sell for about $30,800. Lots of people have done this. You won't get the 3.9%, but you will obviously save thousands.

For pricing, see thread 484 for references. I am trying to get one and having hard time matching that price.
I am down in GA so going to Canada is not an option for me.

I'm spending the evening at the Minneapolis auto show. Every model sold will be on the showfloor. I'll do a side-by-side leather comparison. Anything else anybody wants me to look at?
-Jon
The following features were NOT on the P/F and I wondered if the QX4 had them:
1) Day time running lights
2) Auto door locks
3) electroluminescent(?sp) auto mirror
4) easy-to-fold rear seats.
any 2 or 3 of the above (in addition to the 17" wheels) may be enough for me to drive 25 miles to the QX4 dealer (vs. 4mi. to nissan.)
Thanks!

How does one even begin to offer LESS than invoice on a vehicle? Is there incentives that are not being identified (on this web site) that the dealers are getting? It makes no sense at all for a dealer to lose $$$ on a vehicle. It would be better for them to just not stock any at all!
Are you serious in counter offering UNDER true invoice? So, if I offered INVOICE, you think they would take it??? WOW!
Did the dealer that you closed with on your lease actually offer that price, or did you have to really fight for it?
(We are also replacing a 4runner with 70K miles. But, we own it.. no lease)
I was referring to Posting #503.....
1) Day time running lights
- NOT on the PF
2) Auto door locks
- PF has auto door locks, not sure why you
were not able to see these
3) electroluminescent(?sp) auto mirror
- not on the PF
4) easy-to-fold rear seats.
- PF has easy to fold rear seats, the levers
are on each side of the rear seats.

I think what was meant was rear seats where you don't have to remove and stow the headrests before folding them. Even crappy GMC Jimmys can do this. The one thing I didn't like about my PF and I still can't believe Nissan hasn't figured this out yet.
what I meant to ask was
1) Do QX4 doors automatically lock after a certain speed is attained. I like this feature in my Jeep for child safety.
2) Must one remove & stow the rear seat head rests prior to folding (as in the P/F) or do they fold nicely out of the way as in the new Jeeps, RX300. I have to pull the rear headrests in my '97 jeep and it's a pain.
3) Does the rear view mirror auto-dim on the QX4?
4) Are day-time running lights avail on QX4? (I know that auto lights & Xenons are but also like DTRLs)
Frankly, I am trying to decide whether I should deal with my local Nissan dealer 5 minutes away or drive 45 minutes to Infiniti.
Thanks for your input. This site has saved me a ton of time....
Loaded Pathfinder LE is around 28000 or little less.
Those prices both include 100.00 Canada AC charge and 2.5% duty.
I was looking for the best deal possible so I e-mailed all of the GMC dealers in the Phoenix area and the Infiniti dealers (there are 3 infiniti dealers in phoenix, which are owned by the same person). The response i received from the GMC dealers were $1500 down and $595 plus tax for 36 months with a residule value of %57 and that was without buying out the 4runner. I wanted to be around $500/month so the Yukon was out. After reading this board I found out what people were buying their QX4s, and that was $100 to $1000 under invoice. The reason infiniti is selling under invoice is because the 01 QX4 is almost a year old now so theyre offering %3.9 financing and loyalty rebates if you or anyone in your family has owned a infiniti.
I initially offered $1200 total down and $485/month for 36 months and the buyout of my 4runner. If I had kept the 4runner it would of cost me the three lease payments $1200 a $350 disposition fee to return the 4runner and $450 for new tires. For a total of $2000 to complete the lease and then another at least $1200 inception fees to lease another SUV. A Grand total of $3200. It was to my benefit to have a dealership buyout my lease. The first infiniti dealer laughed hard and kicked me out. The second dealership did'nt laugh but also kicked me out. The third dealership had the QX4 that i wanted in stock and started at $2500 down $535/month for 48 months. This time i walked two days later the dealer called and said his boss wanted to look at the 4runner and if he liked it we could get down to where i wanted to be. This time they offered to buyout the 4runner with $2300 and $510/month for 42 months i counterd with $1895 down and $495 including tax for 36 months. Two hours later and one giant headache i drove home with my QX4. BIGBOATER sorry for the long [non-permissible content removed] explaination but it took alot of time and energy to get this deal done just wanted you to know. Glad i only have to this every three years
For those of you in the US, that equates to around US$30,700 for a QX4 with AWD, prem pkg, sport pkg, and sunroof. Go on up to Canada to get 'em! Write me if you need info.

I ran into some trouble with my bank Wells Fargo. Partly my fault, I suppose. I didn't inform the loans officer that the car was being bought in Canada. At first when I told her the where the dealership was, she refused on the grounds that "they didn't do that". My experience has always been that when a bureaucrat (or loans officer) says that it means they don't have any personal experience in doing it and they'd rather not learn. I countered that the bank's letter had no restriction on where the dealer was located and the letter constituted a contract. Threatening lawsuits and generally throwing a hissy fit seemed to work. I went with the broker because I know from experience that Customs can be worse than any loans officer, and since I had no experience I felt my time was better spent at my work making money to pay for all this. I'm happy I did and will gladly recommend using a broker if you have any reservations about getting the car across the boarder. I UPS'd the check up overnight for $40. I know I shouldn't have gone for the Paint/Leather protection package, but he, they got me in a weak moment. The bastards. I paid a rate of .6608 for a Canadian bankers draft. Here's the break down

I mentioned your deal to my next door neighbor (who is in the market for a luxury SUV). He presented your deal of 33400 (actually he added 100 to make it 33500) to a dealer in New Jersey (through autobytel) and was told the lowest price is 35000. The dealer mentioned that previous infinity owners are intitled to a 1000 cash back loyalty offer. Is this a punch of cow dump?
He rather not purchase the vehicle in Canada due to the 9 hour drive to bring back to the states.
Is this a fair price? What should I realisticly offer? And does the 98 have any problems that I should be aware of that might lead me to look for a 99 or try to come up with the money for a 2000?
I am new to the site and if anyone can help I'd be very appreciative
these older qx4's are not in demand, at all.
my opinion.

am i right jon? (jon - username lofquist - is the foremost expert on the canadian experience.)

I had no problem getting my warranty transferred to the US on my Pathfinder. Two ways to do it:
- Go to your local dealer. I did it this way. They had never done it before, but checked it out. About a week later they called to tell me it was in the US system just fine.
- Call Nissan US (800-NISSAN1) and they will send you a short form to send back to them. I got a form from them, but didn't use it because I had gone to the dealer.

This design came out like six years ago. Just a little "face lift" for 2001. Did anybody know when they will change it? Because soon should be.
Another question is: how close is it from Pathfinder? It is like 95%?
