I do not know whether you purchased at this price, but it is very very high.Get some quotes on the internet from the dealers in Dallas and Austin.

I bought mine from out of state 2007 FWD loaded with DVD/Navi for 37500 when the dealers here were quoting 42500 for the same exact model.

    Hi,

I ended up purchasing from Lexus of Bridgewater. I called to see if they would sell it to me for $38k before I even set foot in the showroom.

If you aren't successful there then Ray Catena of Freehold was also willing to match the price but they didn't have the color I wanted.

Stay away from Lexus of Edison and Lawrence Lexus in Lawrenceville. Lexus of Edison said "We don't sell at invoice" so I told them to keep the car. Lawrence Lexus was even unwilling to deal much also.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

I bought from Lexus of Bridgewater. I called to see if they would sell it to me for $38k before I even set foot in the showroom. I haven't gotten the car yet but I'm hopeful it's as smooth as the purchase was.

You can also try Ray Catena of Freehold. They would sell for the same price but they didn't have the color I wanted and were not scheduled to get it in anytime soon.

I would stay away from Lexus of Edison and Lawrence Lexus in Lawrenceville. Lexus of Edison said "We don't sell at invoice" and Lawrence Lexus was not much better.
    Good luck!

    Eastwing,

Our RX350 was FWD, and the MSRP was $44,466, I think including the destination. That didn't include the doc fee of $399, so with that their starting price was $44,865. Our "price" before tax / tag / title was $39,899, or right at $5000 off of MSRP.

Not sure how that compares with others in the SE, but I could tell that I had gotten as much as they were willing to give. I invested a day or so in the whole thing from the test drive to negotiation and close, so I was pretty happy.

    best,
    jeff

I purchased at Sterling Mccall Lexus. It is $37,400(base) + $9521(Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Package - Luxury Value Edition with Additional Options) + tax and everything
Total is $50,492. They agree to sell me for $46,600 drive out. Is it still to much? Thanks for your answer

I have just put $500 down for a 2008 RX350 (FWD) with the Mark Levison/DVD/Navigation Package (the top package). They quote me for 46600 out of the door? Is it still high everyone? Can I cancel and take the deposit back? What is best price for a one like that before TTL? thanks for answering

I have just finished a deal at Lexus Glendale.

    2008 RX 350 FWD
Premiuim plus package, navigation system, 18 inch wheels, heated seats with rain sensing wipers, wheel locks, cargo mat, tow prep package.

    MSRP - $44,306
    Dealer Invoice - $39,513
    Price Paid - $38,213
    Doc prep fee - $55
    Sales Tax (CA 8.25%) - $3157
DMV electronic filing fee - $28
    License fee - $301
    CA tire fee - $8.75
    Smog fee - $12

TOTAL OUT THE DOOR - $41,775

I wanted to share this with you as this type of detailed break-up of prices on this forum helped me greatly in negotiating this deal.

Please let me know what you think about this deal.

    Hi everyone.

I found your discussion very helpful and would like to share the deal I was able to get from Ray Catena in Ocean, NJ:

    2008 RX 350 FWD
Premium plus package, navigation system with rear camera, 18 inch 7-spoke wheels, heated seats with rain sensing wipers, wheel locks, cargo mat, tow prep package.

    MSRP - $45,816
    Price Paid - $40,857 = dealer's invoice
    Doc prep fee - $249
    Sales Tax (NJ 7%) - $2859.99
DMV electronic filing fee - $27.50
    NJ tire fee - $7.50
TOTAL OUT THE DOOR - $44,000.99

Unfortunately, the dealer was not willing to go below the invoice no matter how hard I tried, so I hope I got a good deal! I have to say the experience has been wonderful, they didn't pressure me into anything and I won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. My sales guy was Mike Barone.

Competing offers received (rock bottom prices, would not discount further) -
    Lawrence Lexus - $41,358 + tax/fees
    Lexus of Bridgewater - $41,774 + tax/fees
    Lexus of Edison - $41,900 + tax/fees

Hope this helps another buyer and good luck!

I would appreciate guidance on how low I should expect to be able to negotiate for a new 2008 RX350 AWD with Navigation and Premium Plus with Moonroof packages (local dealers only seem to get loaded versions)
Initial quote from Lexus Greenwich was:
    $42,100
    +84 plate transfer
    + 200 conveyance fee
    +2536 (6% sales tax)
    _________________
    $44,926 total

I'm having trouble coming up with a reliable "invoice" price -- different sources give different figures (Edmunds, Costco Carsource, Consumer Reports service...)-- from which to negotiate. I read earlier that one should aim for $2500 below dealer invoice -- realistic?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks to all for this very helpful forum!

I found MSN, Edmunds to be exact as far as invoice price is concerned.

    Hi all,

Lots of great discussion regarding this vehicle. I used Edmunds forums and other buyer's experiences to lease my '06 Maxima awhile back and look forward to the same when purchasing my '08 RX350.

I'd like to hear if anyone has had any experience in purchasing this or any vehicle through Fleet Sales. I spoke with a Fleet agent in Los Angeles (I'm in Seattle) and he is willing to sell me an '08 RX350 with Prem + for $100 over invoice. I'm interested in leasing and he said that they go through various sources to acquire the lowest money factors possible. I would have to pay for shipping to get the car here, but no problem as I haven't been able to get a local dealer anywhere near invoice on this car.

Does anyone have experience in dealing with Fleet?
Can anyone tell me the current money factor and residual that Lexus is offering for a 12K and 15K 36mo term lease so I have something to compare with?
If the lease is offered through someone other than Lexus (or TFS), how does turning that vehicle back in to the dealer at lease end work (assuming I decide to do that)?

    Thank you everyone,
    Jason

My local dealer tells me no, but I'm hesitant to put anything but premium in any new car. I can tell a noticeable defference in performance when I use regular.

Awesome post. Thanks! This is the sort of organized info that's going to help us all get great deals! I will surely post my info as soon as I get my very own rx350!

I generally purchase "regular" gas from BJ's, they don't offer a mid-grade; and have had no problems. I do use an occasional tank of mid-grade if it is offered when I buy gas elsewhere.

    Hi everyone,

I found this forum very helpful and I am looking to buy 08 RX 350 within 2 weeks in Dallas Texas area.

2008 RX 350 FWD Premium plus navigation package. Visit a local dealer and got a OTD price for $42800

is it a good deal? or how low can I go from here?

Also what is the advantage for "The Lexus Summer Sales Event" if I buy a Lexus before Sep 4? Did not see any rebate or discount mention on Lexus website. just "You are cordially invited to The Event....to spend MONEY ? "

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks to all for this very helpful forum!
  • krisvkrisv Member Posts: 25
Here's the response I got from the dealership when I inquired about "The Event"...

'Lexus offers savings in leasing and financing with The Event. Pricing is also more aggressive as we are trying to move vehicles for model year end. The finance rate is predicated upon your credit score and the amount finance. The rate will be any where from the low 6% to mid 7% range'

Another said 'This Event sale gives you some very aggressive lease rates on the RX 350's. It also insures our best sale pricing.'

Not very specific, but the best I can add.

    Hi:

When I purchased my RX 350, a week ago, the delaer was pushing hard to sell a protection package for 5 years for an amount of $1,025 (discounted from $1,295). This will cover any dings, dents, scratches etc to the exterior and any cuts, rips, stains to the interior. However, there is a $100 deductible for every use of this plan and the owner is eligible to use the plan any number fo times for five years.

I thought this is a good deal, as we are sure to get some dings and scrathes (may not be your fault)in the parking lots in 5 years.

Please comment if anyone has taken any such protection plans. Thanks.

Hi I'm from Texas and am planning on buying a 2008 RX 350 black with premium + nav package. The best price I've gotten over the phone drive out was 44,000 over the phone in another city.

Where and which dealership did you get that deal solar?
Also, has anyone else in texas gotten a deal better than $44,000 drive out on a 08 350 with nav. Please let me know where. Thanks.
  • lexusrxsearchlexusrxsearch Member Posts: 12
Britcrlvr: that is indeed a lowball offer; do you know any dealer who's agreed to $39,500?
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
I am in Boston area. This was the offer at local dealerships. Doesn't seem to get any lower. I guess I'll have to cough up the money now.

I would suggest you to visit Carsdirect.com True Price This is the best site even better than the Edmunds while compare to the true value of the car in the market for the given time. Best Luck :)
  • sam112233sam112233 Member Posts: 31
$45000 - $45500 would be the best OTD price range as I offered in FortWorth Last week. :)

    Hello Tinku,

I bought my 08'RX 350 for $42500 OTD. Was this deal good or not? :)
  • sam112233sam112233 Member Posts: 31
The good OTD price for 08 RX350 w/o Nav. is $39500 to $40100 with leather trimed seats and wood trimmed steering and central console :)
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
That probably is a good price, but it depends on where you are. It is totally dependent on your location.

Besides, there is a small range, I'm noticing. We're haggling over a range of 2000 dollars. Not that I'm rich or anything, but why go through the headache for such a little amount. In the big scheme of things, it's not a big deal.
  • tleetlee Member Posts: 44
Ha ha ha. Most folks who visit this forum probably want to stretch their dollars a bit further. Even for someone who makes $400/day after taxes, $2,000 is worth 5-day's work.

In addition, some people simply enjoy the process of getting things at the lowest possible price.
  • klee3klee3 Member Posts: 57
Try Sewell Lexus in Dallas. Contact internet manager Eddie C. He gave me a very good price on an ES 350. Let us know how it goes.
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
You are absolutely right. People do enjoy the process of getting things at the lowest price, and I'm certainly one of them! However, I just feel sometimes that a few hundred here and there, even a thousand, may not be worth the headache sometimes. That being said, I definitely don't want to pay more than I have to! Good luck to you!

If you wanted to try going a bit north to Maine, Portland Lexus did me well with an offer. I purchased their last '07 in May, and they were very great to deal with. Contact the internet manager with initials P.A. I was just up there (I live in NH) and they had a few on the lot. Not sure what you are looking for, but your options listed looked standard, and there quite a few on the lot. Their inventory is listed too on their website. www.berlincity.com and click Lexus. I highly recommend this dealership, it's employee owned. I dealt with Ira in Danvers and they were jerks, totally rude and arrogant dealership, not to mention at least $5K more in price. I would never recommend them. However Portland Lexus is fantastic. If you want to get the guys name I deal with, email me at hbc0175@ yahoo.com .

I am passionate about Lexus But same time I am very very much careful about My Hard Earned money. Each dollar I spend is a big deal for me as Lexus take care of each single detail of its vehicles. I hope you enjoy your LEXUS much. Best Luck. :shades:

Got the following deal at Lexus of Melbourne (FL):

    2008 RX350 AWD

    Prem Plus
    Navigation
    Heated seats/rain sensing wipers
    cargo mat
    wheel locks
    Towing pkg
    18 inch, 7-spoke wheels.

    $40.4K +TTL

For the same vehicle, Lexus of Orlando was quoting me $40.6K. Also, the Melbourne dealer gave me a better price on my trade by $4700. Sales staff in Melbourne treated us top-notch.
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
    So, the final deal:

    2008 RX350 AWD - savanahh/beige interior
    Premium Plus
    Navigation
    Heated seats/rain sensing wipers
    cargo mat
    wheel locks
    tow prep package

    40800 car
    199 doc fee
    2040 tax
    86 registration

good/bad/fair who knows? let me know what you think?
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
Thanks for your message. I did get a quote from Portland Lexus, but it was for 44500 after a "discount" off of the MSRP. It was suprising since this was 3000 above any other offer I received from the other dealers. I laughed out loud when I read their offer. I'm not sure which car you bought, but for the 2008 rx350, it was way off base. thanks again for the advice. good luck and hope you're enjoying the car.
  • solar2000solar2000 Member Posts: 25
What do you think about the extended warranty plan? 7 yr/75000 miles or 7 yr/100000 miles? Is it worth it? How much are lexus repairs beyond the 4 year mark? I know it's too early to tell but those of you with the 300's.. I just made my down payment, and have a chance to buy one of these options (such as the simonize thing and other stuff) before my final deal is done (i'm already committed...paid a significant deposit already).

thanks in advance for your opinions.
