Here is the quote I have received:

MSRP: $45,940 (Premium Plus + Navigation Plus + Floor Mats + Gray Pearl)
    Quoted: $42,750 (with $190 Doc + Audit Care $790 + Tax and Title) -> $46,501

Is that a good price? This is 2010 model, they want to get rid off!!!
  • hikeleaderhikeleader Member Posts: 12
42,783.00 is invoice and for a 2010 they want to move you should pay more under invoice.
I paid under invoice for a 2011 PP in NJ.
Tell them to throw in the Audi Care and I think you'll have a nice deal.
If you already own an Audi I think there is a loyalty rebate too....
  • kondkond Member Posts: 2
Invoice Price I see as: $43,194 (Dealer Cost $42,842).
I will definitely ask them to include Audi Care. Let me see what their response will be.
No I don't own Audi before. This will be my first Audi.

big difference on a 3.2 between 2010 and 2011.... they need to give you at least 10% off to offset the depreciation hit you are taking. Test drive a 2011 and see the difference.

I also like Prestige Q5 with White and Beige interrior. I come to 2 dealer place. They both found the only one on east coast. And they are about 200 miles from my area. So the price is not that good. The MSRP is around $ 50800. I got $ 48600 before everything. Which I think is not a good deal. I think the main issue is this is the only on car available for that color combination. :(

recently purchased gray/cinnamon 2.0T Plus with Nav and 19" wheels in VA (3.2% tax).
    44500 OTD including audicare, mats
I know this is above invoice, but was this reasonable/competitive?
  • nly1nly1 Member Posts: 3
Too bad Audi dont make alot of Beige interrior, most of them are black, I shopped for 4 difference daler in the SF bayarea and only see one in steven creek had that only one. But consider if you pay $48600 for a 2011 that your car depriciation will be less than those who got 2010 becasue the 2010 price will drop in couple month and your won't drop for another 1.5 years. So I mean if you pay couple thousand more for 2011 you will have the best value car than if you get a 2010 now.

I'm ordering an Audi Q5. I believe I'm getting a stellar price; however, I figured I'd ask to be sure:

2011 Q5 Premium Plus 2.0T White Exterior, Tan Interior
    $38,309 - Audi Loyalty of $1,500 on the 2011 Q5

Total before taxes and such: $36,809

    Yay? Nay?

Do I need the florr mats? Anything else I "need?" :)

I was searching around Chicago trying to get an OTD under $40K. It seems that the invoice that dealers talk about is about $400 higher than edmunds -- they said it included a dealer cost. I am just wondering the invoice that people refer to in the forum is the edmunds invoice or dealer invoice... I can get the sell price $500 above dealer invoice, but then things get tougher...

    2011 Q5 2.0 T Premium - MSRP $39080
    Meteor Grey - Grey interior
    Pano
    Bluetooth
    iPod
    Wheel locks

Got emailed a "sign and drive" offer from a dealer in LA for and took it to local San Diego dealer and they matched it. Dealer paid DMV, paid 1st payment for us and I paid no security deposit... so I paid zero drive offs. We had 2008 Yukon to trade in and owed $27200k to GMAC. First offer for Yukon was $24k and after some quick negotiating we got $25500 so only needed to roll $1700 into lease.

Also got Costco rebate that is $500 over invoice. Also used a "conquest rebate" to get another $750 off invoice so we got Q5 cap cost under invoice.

48\15k lease for $630 per month (including tax). ZERO out of pocket.

Did I get a fair deal?

  • cresearchcresearch Member Posts: 6
I got the same model (2011 Audi Q5 2.0T Premium Plus with Navigator) in gray color for $42,500 in Indianapolis too.
  • awf_axisawf_axis Member Posts: 136
Just drove home a Q5 last night. Great vehicle but has so many functions and features, it will take a while to get it figured out.

    2011 Q5 2.0 - Prem-Plus, Q-Gray, Nav, B&O, 19" wheels, matts, msrp $45,640
    Selling at $42,176 / (Inv + $500), then minus $750 (conquest cash).

For my region, this is as good as I could get. Live in Tahoe, so my shopping area is Reno and Sacramento. This deal came from Sac.

I would like to know if I am getting a fair deal.

    2 Offers:
    1. MSRP $40515, Invoice $38133. They are offering $39800 with an excellent trade-in price (Kelly Blue Book value)
    2. MSRP $40375. They are willing to take $38500, but I have to wait because he has to order the vehicle. Don't know what they are giving me for the trade in yet. Will know by Friday.

    Any comments will be appreciated.

Am I getting a good deal?
    I pick up my audi q5 2.oT white/premium plus/ Nav/ 19" wheel/ wheel lock
Want a B&O too, but no one has it within CA. The closest one is in TX.
    MSRP: $44155
    Invoice about: $41877
    I paid: $39826
    OTD: $44750
I think it is a really good deal.
  • oneo10oneo10 Member Posts: 10
Was that with any discounts liek the loyalty rebate?
  • flight1988flight1988 Member Posts: 4
no, I don't have any audi before, so I don't get any rebate at all.
  • ramiramiramirami Member Posts: 4
Decided on getting 2011 Black Q5 2.0 Premium Plus, and plan to order it tomorrow? I am thinking of 500 over invoice as a good price (plus 1500 for loyalty bonus as I am a current Audi owner).

Is this a good price or have people gotten lower?

I plan to visit McGrath Audi. Any experiences with them?
  • stubestube Member Posts: 4
sounds like you got a great deal. What's conquest cash and how do you get it?
  • speedracer10speedracer10 Member Posts: 3
So I was ready to sign for a custom order for a Q5 2.0T Premium+ with the following options:
    Nav
    Tow Hitch
    B&O
    Wheel Locks

I had agreed with a price of $500 over invoice and then the dealer notified me that there would be an additional ~$400 in fees (PDI & one other).

First question - is $500 over invoice a good deal?
Second questions - should I have to pay these additional fees on top of the $500 over invoice? Is this normal?
  • speedracer10speedracer10 Member Posts: 3
Does anyone know if it is still possible to get Conqest Cash Back on the Q5? Are there any other rebates that I might be able to take advantage of? (This would be my first Audi, so I don't have the ability to get a Loyalty discount).

    Thanks,

I ended up paying these ~400 fees too. Not sure what its about :(
  • micosilvermicosilver Member Posts: 212
It doesn't look like anyone is monitoring this thread, so I will pitch in, and do my best to anwer most common questions.
First, I am an Internet Director at an Audi dealership in SF Bay Area. I am not supposed to post my name or contact info, but I am easy to find by my username.

Dealer invoice: when you look up dealer invoice on Edmunds.com, there is a disclaimer regarding ad fees:
The invoice price does not include any fees that may be charged by the manufacturer to dealers in a particular area of the country, such as local advertising fees, dealer association fees, or docking and storage fees. Edmunds.com does not track or provide such local fees.
If a local fee appears on the invoice, it is an actual cost that the dealer paid to the manufacturer when buying the vehicle. In other cases dealers may choose to write in their own ad fees on the consumer sales contract. However, in either case these local fees are a part of the dealer's cost of doing business
    .

It is normal for the actual dealer invoice to be $500 higher than Edmunds invoice. If a fee shows on actual dealer invoice - it is a legitimate fee, and if you negotiated a price base on dealer invoice - you should pay it.

Conquest cash: rebate available to current owners of BMW, Mini, Lexus or Mercedes vehicles - must present unexpired official state registration or incurance card. $750 rebate towards 2011 Q5.

Loyalty cash: rebate available to returning Audi customers and household members, must present unexpired official state registration or incurance card. Cannot be combined with Conquest cash. $750 towards Q5 lease or $1,500 towards purchase.

Regarding "good deals": don't expect to get it below invoice, because this is a hot model, sells faster than they can make it. Let a dealer have $500-$1,000 profit, and everybody will be happy.

  • wmeiwmei Member Posts: 5
yes. there is a $1,500 cash discount if you currently own an Audi or your friend owns one and you sure you could use his/her address to register first and then change the address on DMV website. it works.

I bought my 2011 Q5 2.0 premium plus in S California for $42,309( invoice price), original MSRP $44,630 and they offered loyalty bonus as well.

Go ahead man, you can get it on the invoice price.

I did get Invoice (but invoice included ~$400 for the above mentioned charges). Q5 is in transit
  • speedracer10speedracer10 Member Posts: 3
Thanks so much for the excellent insight.

So I am very close to signing on the dotted line (really just need time to get to the dealership). I believe that I have a great deal as some folks seem to include the dealer fees as part of the invoice price and others do not.

I am now getting ~$500 over invoice (inclusive of all fees, except TTL) on a custom order Q5 2.0T.

Thanks again to you and the rest of this board! Very insightful!

    Cheers,

Wow...this is a greattttt price!! how can you get a 2011 one way under the invoice price? Did you get the bonus cash or conquest cash ?
  • wmeiwmei Member Posts: 5
I didn't pay any extra charges on the invoice price...i bought it on Aug 26th, very end of the month...might help a lot to push the sales people to lower the price and make the deal.. Did they give you Audicare plan for free?
  • ramiramiramirami Member Posts: 4
    no..did not get the AudiCare.

I got Black Q5 2.0 Premium Plus + All weather mats/ cargo liner.

    MSRP: 40515
Invoice : 37740 (on carsdiret), 37995 (truecar), 38140 (what dealer said, includes the $400 fees stuff). So I paid $38140.

Also got the $1500 loyalty discount, but that was on after tax price.

Im new to this forum... Looking for pricing imfo. for the Mass. area or even surrounding states. It seems like the q5 is a popular car in this region and the dealers are not to willing to go out of their way to give you a great deal, as compared to some of the deals that i see posted on this forum. How much should i expect to take off the price of a q5 with a msrp of aprox 45,000?
  • oneo10oneo10 Member Posts: 10
So was that $42,309 before the loyalty bonus ($1500) or including the bonus?
  • zguzgu Member Posts: 10
Hi flight1988, can you telll me the name of the dealer.. I am also in CA. Thanks
  • wmeiwmei Member Posts: 5
It was before loyalty bonus. $42,309 was the pure invoice price. Sticker price was $44,630, including premium plus package, teak brown metallic paint, 19' wheel, wheel lock and MMI navigation system.

Loyalty bonus was deducted from the outdoor price which was $47,895 (9.75% tax in LA).

    Hi,

Does anyone know if the Conquest Cash is still available in October? I spoke with a dealer today and he said they were no longer offering it for a 2011 Q5. I would like to hear it from someone else before I take his word for it.

    Thanks for the help.
  • darylnetdarylnet Member Posts: 2
This sounds like a great price. Can you shre name of salesman and dealer? And if anyone elso was able to buy a Q5 at a similar price, would you be willing to share name and dealer? Thx
  • mcfeaglemcfeagle Member Posts: 3
Can I ask which dealership you purchased your Q5 from?
  • mcfeaglemcfeagle Member Posts: 3
I ask what dealership you purchased your Q5 at because I am in the market for a 2011 Q5 Premium Plus and would love to work with the leadership you went through. Sounds like you came away with a pretty good deal and had a good experience :)

    Thanks!

I've been reading all these posts & I have to give my opinion on the whole dealer invoice thing. I know owners of several different car dealerships. All are extremely well off. I mean EXTREMELY well off.
I doubt they get there by making 500 -750 per vehicle.
Also, the sales guys make about $200-300 per sale & the finance guys do really well too. These guys claim over $150K/year. Even if you half that, its still hard to pay all those bills making 1-1.5% per sale.
If I had to guess, dealers make 1500-3000 at least, per sale plus money back from the factory for hitting certain sales goals.

Sorry for the delay. Have been in Cancun this past week, battling hurricane Paula briefly and all that. Didn't pay attention to web activity.

The dealership is Niello in Sac. Not supposed to provide peoples names, so I'll respect this rule. However, my first contact was via email.
