South American? Argentina?
S. A, yes, produced from 1964 to 1989 by Chevrolet (if you can believe that). The rear fender line is typical of many vehicles produced in this country in that time frame. Still a mystery?
Nope - sold in Mexico but made in Brazil.
Ah, so marketed in Mexico---thanks.
Found it, a Chevrolet "Veraneio"...
Here's LOTS of info on it:
http://www.automobile-catalog.com/model/chevrolet_brasil/veraneio_1gen.html
And just to increase your trivia overload---"veraneio" means "summer house" in Portuguese.
I didn't know that Matchbox made models that large.
2009 BMW 335i, 2003 Corvette cnv. (RIP 2001 Jaguar XK8 cnv and 1985 MB 380SE [the best of the lot])
My GAWD....Is that ever UGLY! Is that a vinyl top?
I'm afraid so.
I see some Mopar in it...the way the rear doors kind of point in the other direction from the fronts, like crew cab '60's Dodges.

Saab ... 99? Late 70's or early 80's.

Scary bad car.
Shifty, how can you say such a thing? Now that Saab's out of business, the only thing I read is how GREAT they were, what a shame folks didn't realize that, etc., etc....
And any chance of getting better 'emotorcons'? They're pretty much all the same, except for small differences...
I think the emoticons are hard-wired but I'l check for you. Oh, when I was dissing Saab, I meant the Saab 99, not the entire range of years and models. I've owned quite a few Saabs, from the old 2-stroke, to the German powered Model 96 V4, up through various turbos. Never owned a GM Saab though.
Never owned a GM Saab though.
I owned three of the darned things, the last being a GM/Opel-based 1996 900S, it was the best by far. The transmissions and clutches on the 9000s I owned were crap. I couldn't understand why a company that had been building FWD trannies longer than anyone (except Citroen) couldn't make a decent one.
The orange car is a ** 1974 Saab99 EMS **.

9000s also had massive ignition coil failures. Yeah, chain-drive transmissions do make you wonder.

Aero Willys - I think its the first year judging by the overriders so about 1952.
Cute little car not often seen nowadays. Built in Toledo, Ohio.
Yup, it's a '52 Willys Aero Ace.
I read recently that the correct pronunciation is "Willis" not "Willies".
Versions of the Willys Aero were made in Brazil for many years after production ceased in Toledo.
Note to moderators--still having lots of trouble getting the helpers for bold, italics and quote to work properly.

@andys120, guess I need to play with them more.
Where I grew up it was always Willies.
[edit] All I did was click the B and type the word and then went to the next one. Jeep. _Jeep_ster. The Jeepster didn't work because I didn't put a space after the _ and before the ster. Worksd oks with punctuation after the code though. Strikeout has never worked for me. Need to report that again.
Oh, you can doubleclick a word to highlight it and then click the B or I.
For quoting, lots of times I'll just cut and paste the bit I want after the first >. The behavior of what gets quoted doesn't seem consistent though.
Nice ride for the prom. '65 Chevelle SS?
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
52, hmmm, the Willys shown has a single piece windshield.
The SS is a 66.
You're a little off guys, it's a 1967 Chevelle SS, caption didn't specify 396 or 350.

Maybe the new 4 series Gran Coupe? Just guessing on the nomenclature.. reminds me of the 6 series GC...

When I was a kid, working in a gas station we had a customer that had one of those.
One day he told me he would sell it for 100.00. I passed.
Yup, that's what it is. If you can understand the logic of BMW's current nomenclature you're probably nuts. They really need to get a grip.

Completely agree with that!

Regarding the pronounciation of "Willys"--we always said "Willies" but I've heard a bunch of times over the years that it was actually "Willis".
Not street legal? (hover over and click pic to enlarge)
Acura did the same thing. Everyone knew what a Legend was so why call it an RL all of a sudden. Maybe that means Renamed Legend?
Then they stuck "beaks" on the front end and turned most of their customers off!
????
That is a beautiful 1967 SS 396 Malibu!
My favorite color that year too. Marina Blue!
Some kind of miniature one seater car
It's the war with MB, they are both trying to find something for every niche possible. Both have two distinct 4 door coupes now.
Yes, it's a 67 Chevelle SS. I don't think they came with 350 cubes.
Doesn't say Aston Martin to you? And yeah, it's a kiddie car but big enough for adults. Well, an adult. And it's only $27,000.
DB Convertible - Junior Classic Car (astonstore.co.uk)
Be perfect for that retirement golf community. More pics at gizmag.com.
I did say it was a 1967 and 350's weren't an option then!
I can see it now - mimics a DB5, what caught my eye is the lack of wing windows - all DB5 cabrios had them.
16K GBP? Crazy, I can get a nice real vintage car for that.
G'day
Not street legal. but way too much fun for any kid...

Funny, but I got by with a pedal car! Then I moved onto making my own billy-cart (I am sure they are called something else in USA, but a timber skeleton frame with scavenged pram wheel, or for added fun, a set of ball bearing races, hammered onto a whittled timber axle)
Cheers
Graham
I was replying to Andys post which mentioned 396 and 350.
Yeah, I know. I think Andy may have thought a 350 engine was available.
I did, I guess they were still putting 327s in for 1967./
2001 BMW 330ci/E46, 2008 BMW 335i conv/E93
It has Super Sport script on the rear fender and a Super Sport hood, but no engine badge on the front fender.
Extra points if you can identify the occupants AND the car:
Jack and Jackie Kennedy, MGTF.
