Lease term is 27 Months...MSRP was $48210
Using the MSRP of $48,210 and the net cap of $40,805, along with the base MF for the C300 of .00089 and the 27/12 residual of 68%, I calculate a pre-tax payment of $362.61.
The dealer's offer of $340/mo seems quite good by comparison.
The dealer is insisting their MF is .00185 as opposed to .00145 which is basically a 1% diff in rate. "We don't have any control over it...blah blah". Think I'm going to take your suggestion and look elsewhere. If I have to build it, I can build it anywhere, right!?! Thanks

Base MF on the C250 is .00101, so your dealer is marking that up on you. Politely but firmly explain to them that you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.
I'm new to the leasing process. What's the MF and residual? What would be a good deal on the 2014 MB C300 4Matic Sport? If I lease a vehicle from a MB dealer, do I pay my bills directly to MB Financial Services or to a different bank?

By "What's the MF and residual?" I meant what do they mean? What is MF and residual, what do they mean? Is MF .00089 good? The lower number the better or worse? Sorry for all the questions.

Residual is 56% for 36/10.
Residual is the expected value of the car (expressed as a percentage of MSRP) that the finance company assigns. Higher is better.
MF is money factor, or the 'rent charge' for the lease. Lower is better.
Just leased a 2014 c250 sport blk/blk. Msrp was 37,500, sale price was $30,xxx. 0 out of pocket, 27 mo, 12k for $340/mo. Southbay mercedes (SO-CAL). I love my new benz!

27 month is really the only good term for this model.

Hello, I'm interested in the September MF and residuals for a 2014 C300 4Matic for 27 or 36 month lease with 10 or 12K miles a year. Figure the car has Premium 1 and Multimedia. This is for NY state if that matters.

Hi I'm looking to lease a 2014 cla 250. Looking for 36months 12k miles and 15k miles
My build my own car Msrp came out to $33,410. How much is added to that for tag transfer, taxes, fees etc...??? I live in Miami Florida.
Also being that the 2015 models will be released in 3 weeks or so from what I was told do you think I should wait to order my car till then to get a better deal? I am trading in my car which I was told I could get like 5k for it. How should I have them apply the trade in value to the lease?
My final question I guess would basically be what would the residual value, money factor, cap costs, etc be for September for 36month lease and 12k miles and 15k miles.
Please advise me on how I can get the best possible deal. And any tips to help me negotiate. Like what should I tell the sales person I want exactly so that he can make the deal happen for me. I'm so new to this and I don't want to be taken advantage of. I honestly didn't want to pay more than $350 per month including all taxes and fees but I'm not sure if that is possible. I also wanted to get the maintenance included which I was told it is like $12 per month. Is it worth it?

Taxes are calculated against the monthly payment. Fees, tag transfer, etc. vary from state to state and from dealer to dealer (dealer fees in Florida are as much as $699).

You will probably be able to negotiate a better selling price on a 2014. But, the residual and MF may not be as good for a 2014 versus a 2015.
I am trading in my car which I was told I could get like 5k for it. How should I have them apply the trade in value to the lease?
We do not recommend that you use trade equity as a down payment - if the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose that money. Instead, look into making multiple security deposits (MSD) which will lower the money factor used in the lease. The advantage is that you will get that money back at the end of the lease.
My final question I guess would basically be what would the residual value, money factor, cap costs, etc be for September for 36month lease and 12k miles and 15k miles.
2014 - .00145 MF and 63% for 36/15. Add 2% to residual for 12K.
No 2015 information is available yet for the CLA.

Use the shopping tools at the top of the page to help you determine your target price - you should subtract the amount of the dealer fee from this number to get your best deal.
In order to model a payment we will need both the MSRP and the negotiated selling price.
I have never leased a Mercedes before, but felt the deal was so strong I couldn't pass it up. And now I am curious as to how I did on the lease deal comparatively speaking since I had no prior knowledge of the money factors, etc when I went in to the dealership. I leased a 2014 C250 Coupe in Arizona w/sticker price of $40,645 for 322 a month (including tax) with $1,000 total out of pocket (1st month, title, plate, etc). This was for a 7,500 mile a year 27 month term. The deal also included oil changes (2) at the dealership. The only thing left to pay is the lease termination fee at the end of the lease. The Adjusted Capitalized Cost was $35,457.69 (I think that included the residualized oil change package) and the residual value was $29,375.54. Soooo how did I do?

$322/mo for a car that stickers north of $40K is a pretty good deal, especially with only $1,000 out of pocket at signing.
So far I've negotiated the CLA250 4Matic selling from $36,605 to $35,400. The dealer is telling me that can't meet the TMV of $35,200 b/c it doesn't take into account advertising fees. True?
The out the door costs are troubling me. In addition to the 1st mo payment, I am being told there is:
Acq. fee (tried to tell me it was 895, I know std is 795). Can they waive this or is it a non-neg? Tax on the acq fee (10% for a lease in the city of Pittsburgh in PA) Doc fees - $133 I'm being told these are required by the state of PA, but I thought I read elsewhere it is NOT a legal requirement. Plates, Title, etc. I am TRANSFERRING my plates; I know that makes a difference. $50 Title $36 Registration $9 Transfer $23 Encumbrance --??? $14.55 PA electronic license $5 PA DLR Tire Tax -- ??? This SEEMS high to me but I don't have anything to base it off of. Researching on the PA DMV website has been no help.
Lastly, I told the dealer that compared to other similar brands/models, their .00144 MF was quite high. They came down to .00134. Do you think there is any chance of more flexibility here?
I want to get the best deal I can, but also don't want to be unrealistic.

Appreciate your help! Sarah
Acquisition fee cannot be waived, but you are right to note that it has been inflated (which the dealer is allowed to do). Plates, title, etc. are also mandatory.
Doc fee of $133 is reasonable, but you can negotiate it out of the deal by asking for a lower sale price. I think that number is capped in PA - here in Colorado, some dealers have doc fees as high st $599!
You can look into using MSDs to lower your MF. Don't compare the MF from one manufacturer to another - the numbers will always be different. Infiniti almost always has a lower MF than Lexus, for example.
Michaell, Appreciate your feed back on this deal. Can you pl tell me, if this is a good deal? - CLA 250 AWD( all options loaded except sun roof and driver assistance pkg) - MSRP - 42K, sale price - 37K, residual - 0.66 , mf 0.00139. Monthly payment 340 with 2.5 K down.
2014 C300W4 - can you please let me know the residual and MF for sep (36 months).
I have been looking at a 2015 C class. Msrp is 51k. They are giving me around 1k off.
Nothing out of pocket but $710 a month! Seems crazy. With 3500 down it wil be high 500s. Still crazy I think.
On a cla msrp around 42k. Nothin g out of pocket 574/month. Again another crazy number I believe for these cars. With around 2300 down payment around 450.
10k/year leases.
These are actually better prices than another dealer. Is this decent or a rip off it just how a mercedes is?
The infiniti I'm looking at comes standard with so many items it seems like a good deal. Thank you all.

MF for the CLA250 4Matic is .00144 with a 66% residual for either 24/15 or 36/10.
When you say 'down' do you mean cap cost reduction or up front costs (taxes, fees, etc.)?
For the first deal (using the .00144 MF and 36 months), I get a pre-tax payment of $350.97. For the second deal, I get $344.69/mo pre-tax for 36 months.
For 2014 C300W4, the 36/15 residual is 50% and the MF this month is .00089.
When I run the numbers off of edmunds lease calculator my payment is so much lower than what they are offering me. So I'm so confused. Are they now adding new fees that I wasn't informed of?
Sales price $35,000
Residual value 65% of msrp of $36,280 = $23,582
Money factor .00145
Title $839
Acquisition fee $595
Total out of pocket $4,000
The payment comes out at $349 including taxes no maintenance
Here is a print out of what they are now offering me. Can you please tell me why is there payment higher. Is there anything that can be done to get the payment to what your calculator gave me?

$1750 in initial fees? $839 title fee? They are hiding some extra numbers in there... Also, the base acquisition fee on a MBCC lease is $795, not $595. I see you are in Florida, so I'm not surprised.. They are hiding a big dealer/doc fee in there, it looks like.

Use the shopping tools at the top of the page to help you determine your target price - you should subtract the amount of the dealer fee from this number to get your best deal.
In order to model a payment we will need both the MSRP and the negotiated selling price.

Sorry, 27 mos (I think that is the optimal incentivized deal now), and 12K/yr. Thx!

I'm back with some add'l questions
So far I've negotiated the CLA250 4Matic selling from $36,605 to $35,400. The dealer is telling me that can't meet the TMV of $35,200 b/c it doesn't take into account advertising fees. True?
The out the door costs are troubling me. In addition to the 1st mo payment, I am being told there is:
Acq. fee (tried to tell me it was 895, I know std is 795). Can they waive this or is it a non-neg?
Tax on the acq fee (10% for a lease in the city of Pittsburgh in PA)
Doc fees - $133 I'm being told these are required by the state of PA, but I thought I read elsewhere it is NOT a legal requirement.
Plates, Title, etc. I am TRANSFERRING my plates; I know that makes a difference.
$50 Title
$36 Registration
$9 Transfer
$23 Encumbrance --???
$14.55 PA electronic license
$5 PA DLR Tire Tax -- ???
This SEEMS high to me but I don't have anything to base it off of. Researching on the PA DMV website has been no help.
Lastly, I told the dealer that compared to other similar brands/models, their .00144 MF was quite high. They came down to .00134. Do you think there is any chance of more flexibility here?
I want to get the best deal I can, but also don't want to be unrealistic.
Appreciate your help!
Sarah
Doc fee of $133 is reasonable, but you can negotiate it out of the deal by asking for a lower sale price. I think that number is capped in PA - here in Colorado, some dealers have doc fees as high st $599!
You can look into using MSDs to lower your MF. Don't compare the MF from one manufacturer to another - the numbers will always be different. Infiniti almost always has a lower MF than Lexus, for example.

Can you pl tell me, if this is a good deal? - CLA 250 AWD( all options loaded except sun roof and driver assistance pkg) - MSRP - 42K, sale price - 37K, residual - 0.66 , mf 0.00139. Monthly payment - 380 ( includes tax) and 1300 down.

CLA 250 AWD ( all except sun roof, driver assistance, sports pkg) - MSRP 39K. sale price 35K. Residual 0.66, MF - 0.00144.
