I just completed a deal for a 2014 Accord EX-L four cylinder in Nj. MSRP 29,060. Sales price 24,536.27. 36/10k. Traded in 2009 Infiniti for 14,500 and applied against price for tax benefit. Residual 15,983 - .55. I put 3000 down from trade and have 212.88 per month for 35 months. First payment included in 3000 down. Fees listed were 595 acquisition, 237' title and registration, 399 doc fee and 299 warr prem. Total cost for 36 months is 10,450. Any thoughts?

Given that you are taxed on the entire sales price ($21K and change), getting a lease payment of $250/mo on a $25K car is quite good.

I've heard that dealers in Texas can provide some sort of offset tax credits to minimize the effect to the lease payment.

It is ... I calculate a pre-tax payment of $218.00 for 36 months.

This is not a Honda lease .. they are using a 59% residual for 36/12; Honda Finance has the LX at 56%.

So ... don't know what MF they are using, either, to get to the $158/mo number. If I use the 59% RV and .00026 MF (Honda MF for the Accord this month), I get a pre-tax payment of $181.15/mo.

$158/mo looks really good, even if the initial costs are around $1000 or so.

That might be a Honda lease. The only thing that makes me think it might be different, is because it's in Illinois, and sometimes they get different programs to offset the high lease taxes. Other than the residual being off, everything else matches a standard Honda program.

Looking for some validation. 2014 EX MSRP 26,470 got a price of $22,556, 7% sales tax quoting 271/mo tax first payment and doc fee due at signing, 3yr/36k lease. Wondering What the MF is here in nebraska and opinion on good deal or no?

National MF for Accords is .00026. 36/12 residual for EX is 56%, so with your MSRP and selling price I get a pre-tax payment of $224.52 - adding in the 7% tax takes the payment to $240.23.

They look pretty good ... I'm getting a payment of $218.92/mo for 36 months using the numbers you've provided.

Where is the sales tax? NJ calculates it for leases up front and either adds it into the cap cost or you pay it up front.

If I put less down, then the payments go up. I'd rather have a lower payment with more down than higher payment with less down, unless I'm missing something and there's a catch with higher or lower payments. By the way, I found a better deal with cap cost at 22,932 and residual at 15,105. Monthly payment with tax is 245 with 3k down. I'll post the details when I get the lease agreement.

The total paid is the same for the entire lease - however, with a large down payment, if the car is stolen or totaled, then you lose the down payment.
