Yes, it's a good time to buy. Is it the "best" time to buy? Who knows. But right now Honda has 0.9% financing + $500 factory to dealer incentives on the Accord LX. If you are good at negotiation, follow Brian aka "Accord price Yoda's" advice, you should be able to score a good deal. Depending on your market and how hard you work at it and time it, you might be able to get $3000 off of msrp, and maybe more.
Right now there's a price war in the midsize car field, which means the consumer wins. My guess is that by the summer prices might be even a bit lower than they are now. But that's just a guess.
As you've probably seen, the Accord costs a little more than most of its competitors, but I think the "premium" on the Accord is worth it. But I'm a Honda fan, and freely admit it. Other fans of their brands think their car is the best too....

That's a great price! Almost $500 less selling price than I was able to negotiate. Add on the fact that your tax is roughly half mine, you're getting an EX-L for $1400 less than I paid just a few weeks ago. Great deal!

This is a fair/ good price in MD @1401 below dealers invoice. If you could hold out and get more dealerships involved buying at the end of this month $300 to 700 dollars more should be easily obtainable.
MD and CA have the best discount pricing on Accords in the country.
I am no @brian125 but that seems like a good price. We are searching for a exl and have seen lx models in the low 20,000's. There is a 1k incentive to dealers here in southern CA but maybe higher in the east. Definitely need brian125 for this one.

I wouldn't be getting the grad bonus.
They financed me through a credit union with 7.99 apr. I didn't sign because I have a finance offer already and I believe the price could be lower. Did I make a mistake not notifying them beforehand of my financing? I heard dealerships will try to beat your financing. I have an offer for 1.99 up to $21,400. Lower than what I need. I was hoping that Honda would attempt to match it some. Can the finance office take my offer and see if Honda will reconsider? Need advice on this whole picture.

Eight including the one I'm currently talking to. Four in my city and four in the nearest. The one that gave me that deal is the largest out of the eight. One down the street from my house is the second largest, but they never responded to my email. Maybe I should send another one?

I went to Hagerstown Honda in Hagerstown, MD. Just emailed them and they came with that price. It was substantially lower than anywhere else I had been going back and forth with in the area. I asked them to throw in the few add-ons I wanted and they said sure. Went in did the paperwork and drove off with the car. Smooth and easy transaction. Would recommend them to anyone in the area.

It's possible that this sale qualified the dealer for volume bonuses that far exceed the money potentially lost on this sale.

Yes i agree with what @ultratech posted above. call all 2/3 dealers ask if your model sits on there lot. Maybe consider another model if there's a big price difference between models..
All buying advice i post will teach you.. How to get to.... and make the lowest possible price with dealers thru specific time frames, Negotiating ploys, Tricks , Turning the tables on the dealers. This keeps you in control with negotiating and keeps the leverage in your favor.
A big part of any good car deal comes from doing your pre-homework before you start the negotiation process. Most members seem to be doing a very good job this year. Pre- home should include finding dealers with your model, finding high volume dealerships, finding dealers with good customer feed back on sales and service. check out sites like @dealerater, @hondadealer reviews, yelp, etc.
Finding your model on a dealers lot dont alway net you the best deal or make a easier sale.
Your area is a Supply and Demand area with very limited dealerships. Advantage dealerships . All Dealers will order, swap vehicles to make a sale. If a dealer has to make a order for you it may take 4 weeks but in doing so they might not be so inclined to give you that better price opposed to a lot vehicle.
So in beautiful Idaho with out knowing what dealers are selling Accords for use this formula and target price to see if dealers will bit.
minus the dealers cash offering minus the 2% dealers hold-back ( on the base msrp ) minus dealers doc fee charge
what ever that number totals subtract it from your models invoice price.
Use that number as your high starting Target price to buy. Work back up towards invoice price if dealers wont budge. Limited dealers and limited supply spells trouble for you.
If you could get 500 to 1000 below dealers invoice price on the exl you have done very well.
Very important....: if no dealers have your model on there lots please wait til march 30th or 31st, before you start your negotiations and buying process. Use the ending 1st quarter to your advantage. make emails / calls to dealerships ahead of time to break the ice and see where pricing lies in your state.
Get these two dealers involved in the price wars. Pitting one against the other.

Thanks for the advice, I have been looking around at local dealers (Pocatello, ID) for a couple of weeks and I have only found two that have the EX model and the others do not have them listed on their websites, so they might have them coming in over the next couple of days.
I am not a very good negotiator so I am going to start sending emails and calling the dealers tomorrow to see what I get.
There are more choices in Utah but I will try to get a car in state first because of the pain and bad experience that I had once by buy a car out of state and getting it registered here. Thanks again for the all the great information.

They'd probably go a bit lower if I pushed but I'm comfortable with the deal. Sounds like there's definitely some dealer cash available through the end of this month, which is probably why the willingness to come down on pricing right now.
just purchased a Honda Sport auto trans. Silver out the door price $ 22,585 included mudguards, wheel locks, pin stripe, Trunk tray and window tint. All fees included 1.9 % interest 60 months. nc use tax of 3%. Had better offer for a white one at another dealer for 21,200 otd but did not include the trunk tray. My wife did not like the white, so bought the silver one. No trade in.
In Rhode Island. Have a price near by in Massachusetts for a2015 accord ex for $22190 with destination. Doc fee is $399, ri taxes would be $1553and $135 for new plates. How is that as an offer?
Just received another offer for $22377 with dest from a different dealership with same fees as above but they will throw in lifetime power train warranty nationwide and two years maintenance.
Okay I was able to get a quote of $20,700 over email on Saturday from a dealership in the next city. Three other dealerships came in at between $20,800-$20,900 with not much effort. I talked to the original dealership with the $21,100 quote and they want me to forward the email from the other dealers. This is my first car purchase so I don't know if that is normal. I don't think I'm going to forward the emails anyway. He told me he would beat the price, but I'm not sure. I've got two days left so I just want to make sure I get a car by Tuesday.
Makes no difference whether dealer see's email or not they can meet that price regardless. By you telling dealers to match or beat x Honda they want proof. This is a bad way to buy cars. this lets bad dealerships play games with you. I understand your a newbie here you will learn better negotiating strategies over time. But for now Tell dealer @21,100 that if they want your business 20,700 or 20,600 gets the sale today. Tell that dealer to ask there mgr. you will wait on the phone for there answer and will leave a credit card deposit holding sale till you could get there . If you have a email and want to send it make sure the dealer that needs a email to sell a car beats that price by 100 dollars or Don't give them the sale........... They don't deserve it.

I got my Sport CVT for 23,122.87 OTD in SoCal. That 21,200 OTD price he's quoting is just a estimate - the OP didn't get that car so there's no way of knowing if that was a real deal.
He ended up paying 22,585 with 3% sales tax. If you adjust his tax for SoCal his OTD is 23,714.25 @ 8%. I paid LA county tax @ 9% and still beat his deal. It's all about negotiations.
After re-reading the last several months of this forum (thanks to all who have posted and commented), I emailed a dozen dealers in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois with my target price for an Accord LX w/CVT (no accessories). Purchased from Wilde, but Zimbrick was right there as well. Contracted $s included:
MSRP + Destination $23,725.00 Service Fee + $219.00 Discount - $3,757.00 Vehicle Cash Price $20,187.00 + WI Sales Tax (5.1%) + DMV fees ($99) Total OTD: $21,315.54
After evaluating accessory price options, opted to purchase all-season floor mats, trunk tray, splash guards, and touch up paint online for about $300. This is about $150 less than the dealer price.
