    2015 Accord Ex-L 4 cyl/cvt - northern il area

    $24,400 (inc $1000 rebate, destination charge) + ttl/doc

This was the best price I could get from a distant dealer. Locally no one would come close.

    -------------------------------------

    2015 Accord Ex-L V6 - chicago suburbs area

    $26,600 (inc $1000 rebate, destination charge) + ttl/doc

Was trying to get closer to $26K even, but this was the best deal I could get within the last few days. Waiting closer to month's end might of helped.

Ended up buying the 4 cyl model.

    NYC Area.

Is this a decent price on a 2015 Sport CVT? I feel like i might be able to get $24,500 OTD at another dealer in this area.

    $21,712+$820(Dest fee)+TTL = $24,864

NYC pricing on Accords is not as good as other States. Your at 859 below dealers invoice. With luck and more supply on a dealers lots you may be able to get close to 1500 below invoice if you buy at the very end of the month.

Try Emailing.......... BayRidge , New Rochelle, Yonkers, and Friendly Honda for a immediate sale if your target price is met of $21,070. this price excludes dest/ charge, doc fee, taxes, and tags.

In LI you have........... Atlantic and Huntington Honda who will give you a better price at months end.

I have posted below on CRV forum. Some points may benefit to Accord community also. Hnce i am also posing the same here.

    ==========
I also did my research on Chicago land dealers to make sure I do not waste time with unworthy dealers. I would suggest staying away from City Honda, Grossing Honda in Chicago area.
Fletcher John, Valley Honda, Grand Honda, Continental Honda are one of the most professional dealers.

Initially I narrow down to Honda Accord for 2015 Honda Accord EX-L with Modern Steel Metallic color and Gray Leather. The lowest quote I received (including $1,000 dealers rebate) was:

    EPRICE: 23,397
    DESTINATION: 820
    OTD PRICE: $26,357.74
Another dealer was ready to break price by another $100. So my deal could have been $26,257.74 OTD.

Thanks Brian, Steve and rest of user who has contributed on this forum educating consumers. I wish good luck to new buyers.

2015 Honda Accord Sport in IL.
This is the offer the dealer replied my email with:

    Vehicle Price: $21,063
    Destination: $820
    Document Fee: $168.43
    Electronic Filing Fee: $25
    Taxable Total: $22,076.43
    7.25% Taxes: $1,600.54
    Cook County Flat Tax: $15
    Title and Registration: $196
    Out the Door Price: $23,887.97

Nada shows dealer invoice for this car is $22,572 + $820 destination.

How can I make him lower the price? He says ''that is my eprice I have so let me know what I need to do and I will see what I can do''.

brian125 recommend me something, I read most of your posts, you are good! :)

Was looking to buy a Hyundai sonata 19,9k sale price with leather seats .10yr warranty 5 year roadside, one year free maintainer no dealership fees or any other charges plus pay for dmv fee..

Got them down to 19,4k then went to Honda asked them to match it they did then said I'd rather pay 18,9k they said 19k even was best they could do..no dealership fees they pay for dmv fee, mats, nitrogen, 5 year warranty, plus one year maintanance...

Overall it was ok deal not great..still only a 0.9% Apr begged for 0% but they wouldn't budge so I said I'll think about it..lol

I don't  why you guys pay so many fees and crap?

With much help from Brian125 and Scott297 and use of the Tellmethebest.com I was able to purchase a Honda Accord EXL V6 for $26,484. Thank you for your great help. I bought at the end of last month in fact the 30th of March and then went on 3 weeks of training to leave a brand new car in the driveway.

I could not have done it without you. Please know that you made a difference, you helped me get the V6 at the price of the 4 cylinder. I appreciate your help more than you know.

My deal worked this way. I paid $26,484 for the car, $220 doc fee, $159 registration, and $1,698 tax, total out the door.. $28,561. But beware of these internet prices.. it is nothing except a way to get you in unless you pay exactly internet price. And paying cash complicated the deal, as they wanted me to use their financing in order to get their price and though I had to threaten to leave the dealership and pitched such a fit, that I made them throw in all-weather mats.
    .
Again, many thanks to Brian and Scott… you guys called it..down to every last detail. I played the Boston dealers after each other and the dealers in RI. The Connecticut dealers didn’t even entertain a price reduction, though one did compromise ever so slightly because my boss buys a car every 3 years from him. In the end it was down to 2 dealers from RI and the one I bought from last time match the price, they said they had the color I wanted and they were closer, so off I went. I got there and they didn’t have the color, but the other deal was going to charge me $200 for a cash sale, so I got the lovely metallic grey and I couldn’t be happier.

Again many thanks to Brian125 and Scott297 and use of the Tellmethebest.com.

Thanks to all in this forum who shared their prices. It definitely helped me get a much better deal today than I would've gotten otherwise! I never would've thought it possible to get so much off the sticker price of a Honda.

2015 LX CVT sedan (no add-ons, 3 miles on odo)

    MSRP: $23,725.00
    Price: $19,841.25 ($19,242.25 + $599 proc fee)
    Saved: $3883.75 (16.4% off MSRP)

    OTD (4.05% tax, $62.75 tags): $20,707.57

I did a 3 year/36k mile lease, so that added another $595 for the lease acquisition fee. I put down $1000, so the cap cost was $20302.57, residual value $13760.50, and the payments with 0.00038 money factory (0.9% APR equivalent) are $195/month.

Saleswoman was Juanita Murphy at Pohanka Honda in Fredericksburg, VA.

Funny story - I sent a quote request to West Broad Honda in Richmond last night after seeing the good price quote chris925 got from them. Tim Higgins replied about 10:30am, when I was at Pohanka. I heard my phone ding, but didn't read my email until later as I was driving home in my new Accord. Tim's price was $16,528.00 including destination! I almost crashed my new car! I went from feeling like I'd gotten a good deal to feeling I'd somehow overpaid by $1000's.

When I got home I emailed Tim to ask for an OTD quote, assuming there had to be some catch. Fortunately he wrote back and said he'd mistakenly quoted me a Civic LX, not an Accord LX. His OTD quote on the CVT LX Accord was $21,694.76, so I felt very relieved, lol

@brian125 is this a good price for 2015 sport accord in IL?

    MSRP: $25,485.00
    Internet Sale Price: $20,972.00
    + Destination Charge: $820.00
    Total Internet Sale Price: $21,792.00
    + Documentation Fee: $168.00
    + Electronic Filing Fee: $25.00

    + Sales Tax: $1,574.00 at 7.00%
    + Registration & Plates: $196.

Nada says that total dealer invoice is $23.3k. Is there room for negotiation? This was dealer's first offer. Thanks!

Was given the below quotes from a "no haggle" dealership in Northeast Florida for a (1) 2015 Manual Accord EX-L V6 Coupe and (2) 2015 Manual Accord Sport. Is there room for negotiation in these prices? I was thinking of countering with $29000 OTD for (1) or $23000 OTD for (2). Are these realistic counter offers?

    (1) 2015 Manual Accord EX-L V6 Coupe
    MSRP: $31,565
    Sale Price: $28,765
    Tag transfer fee: $125
    DOC fee: $650
    Tax: $1,814.90
    Total Sales Price: $31,354.90

    (2) 2015 Manual Accord Sport
    MSRP: $24,685
    Sale Price: $22,488
    Leather seats: $999
    Tag transfer fee: $125
    DOC fee: $650
    Tax: $1,498.22
    Total Sales Price: $25,760.22

New 2015 Honda Accord EX-L PA (Philadelphia area)
Dealer - Will tell you once I get my car tomorrow. I am hoping that there is no other catch that I will find it tomorrow and car doesn't have any issues.
    Date - 4/25

    Price (Including destination) - 24,483
Wheel lock - 76 (This is something dealer forced me into as he said price is good for only in-stock vehicles and locks are already installed. I didn't mind as I got the color I was looking for (Blk with tan/ivory interior) at this price.

    Tags/title/Doc fee ~= 273
    Tax - 6% (PA tax)
    Finance - .9% -

    Out of door - 26,305.69

Will pick it tomorrow (4/27) as it was very late yesterday and didn't have enough time for all the paper work. Got the contract written though.

Didn't have to negotiate much. Got the price offer through truecar from the dealer. This was not certificate price. But dealer said he is good with the price. Called in to check the inventory for the color. 1 hour hassle free process, not much discussion. Got out with the contract.
I test drove accord ex-l at other dealer earlier yesterday but that dealer refused to honor the price and said this is some sort of true car mistake. I believe this is the price they were selling at during winter. Now they have new price for post April 15th spring time.

Worst dealers in my area - Scotthonda - Wouldn't even give me a decent competitive price unless I sit with him (price quoted through email -26,600+). I felt insulted.

Second best dealer in my area (not really my area as this is about 100 miles away) - Harrisburg - FaulknerHonda - Were willing to do the free delivery to my location - was possible to do whole transaction remotely.

Thanks to all of you guys. I got lot of help from this discussion and got the idea of good, bad and ugly prices out there for this model.

Goofie, I think that's a fairly reasonable price.

OEM Wheel locks are about $40 shipped + installation if you can't install 'em yourself. We chose to get 'em without the locks as wheel theft isn't an issue in our area (north suburbs of chicago). $76 installed is reasonable I suppose.

While we got our car at a cheaper selling price, the otd price ($26650) was higher due to higher state/county taxes and doc fees.

You could try pushing for $24,300 and demand they remove the wheel locks. Although the contract is written, you haven't signed off on the car yet, so can still back out of the deal. We did that with the 6 cyl ex-l after discovering it was leaking trans fluid. Sales order was written, but told them I will only sign off on the car after thorough test drive and inspection.

If you know what to look for, request the rack the car on the lift so you can examine the underside, esp the engine/trans area for any signs of leaks or other damage.

what extras does the ex-l has that the sport doesn't?

Its mostly heated leather seats, moon roof, heater mirrors, and some more security feature such as lane change camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning (which I doubt if it works properly in any model. You really need well marked lanes for it to have a chance to work). backup camera is slightly better in EX-L. It has multiple angles. As such I really never felt the need for backup camera in my previous Sedan cars. I do find it useful on my MDX as view from rear view mirror is not the greatest due to length of car.
I do find auto dimming on EX-L annoying. I should decide If need to dim or not. Hope there is way to turn it off.

    you can compare trims here.

    Posting for accord here:

    MSRP
    $26,650
    Invoice
    $24,455
    Internet Special

    Is this a good price?

One of the dealers offered me this price. I am not sure other dealer will beat it. Their prices are considerably higher.

I am buying the car maybe today evening itself or by the end of this month.

rebates and incentives are in 2 catagories. factory to dealer
    and factory to purchaser.
I believe their is a $1000 factory to dealer incentive for accords
for purchase and $500 additional for leases. not sure if you can combine
them. Maybe brian125 knows for sure.
Also, i believe the 0.9% rate has been extended for 60 months.
Some dealers have a icon for honda incentives in their websites.
BEst to crosscheck edmunds NADA and KBB.

@brian125 I would like to negotiate a remote start as the only dealer add on. I see it listed at 399 MSRP. I called up a few dealers and they have all quoted around 600.00 total installed. What is you view on this? Should negotiate invoice price for the remote start, how to negotiate labor costs, if possible. PLease let me know . Also is it worth it for installation on an EX-L lease or Buying ? Thanks

Auto- start is a nice feature. If dealers wont budge on price then ask yourself if its worth the 600 dollar investment. I like to tell dealers that if you want to earn my business X-price gets the deal done today with all added accessories added at invoice price . limited dealerships puts you at a disadvantage in pricing. When I buy any vehicle I negotiate with 20 to 50 dealerships. Advantage me.

lease or buy is your preference . you have to drive this car so add accessories that makes your driving experience fun and pleasurable.

Having purchased several Honda vehicles over the past few years in Maryland, I would say, with proper research, Criswell, Pohanka, Jim Coleman, and Norris usually offer the best opportunity for a good deal. Honda dealers I have found present too many games include Hagerstown and Shockley. The two Honda dealers I avoid are Ourisman and College Park.

Most recent was a Civic purchase for my child. Initially visited Hagerstown as they had a vehicle in stock of interest. We had a trade. Net price offered by Hagerstown was about $2,000 over my target deal. They would not budge, though they did call later to request we visit them a second time. That is not a game I like to play.

Next day went to Criswell and paid $1,500 less for the exact vehicle. When I deal with Criswell, I simply tell them the price I want to pay and let them counter. On four occasions, I have never failed to reach a decent deal at Criswell.

Hi newman1818 - thanks for the pointer.. do you mind sharing the price you paid for yours? Additional info from Curry Honda - for EX L Doc Fee $599 Splash guard & body side $452 Tax $1895.25 Tag / Title $41 Total $27,903.25
This was mine from back in February: 2015 Accord EX-L sedan 4 cyl CVT MSRP $29,240.00 Selling price $24,509.00 (includes destination) Dealer fee 489.00 Appearance pkg 119.00 Decklid Spoiler 312.00 Body Side Moldings 245.00 Nitrogen 88.00 Electronic title fee 52.00 GA 7% TAVT 1895.25 Tag fee 20.00 Title fee 18.00 Lemon Law 3.00 Total drive out price $27,750.25 I asked for the spoiler and side moldings. Also, the TAVT in GA is calculated on the fair market value (FMV) of the vehicle multiplied by the current rate which is 7%. Also, I waited almost a month for mine as I didn't want a vehicle with the front bumper tag installed with 2 holes in the bumper, this was a deal breaker for me. They were able to get me a vehicle straight off the truck from Honda.
Can you upload some pictures of the front bumber how it was and how you wanted it?

In Philadelphia area Pottstown dealers are better than dealers in philly areas such as kop, main line, Philadelphia it self, chester county, springfield.
Harrisburg is not a bad option. They could deliver car to you (for no additional charges) without you visiting them if you know what exactly you want.
I bought two cars in last 4 months from Pottstown (MDX and accord EX-L). One was planned and other one bit unplanned (accident).

I sent out for a quote for a used one and he sent me this offer on a new one. I was under the impression that what mattered was out the door. I will email him back and ask for clarification or break down.
    Thanks.

MA. MD, VA, CA. All these states have been noted to sell close to or over 2k below dealers invoice. How good you negotiate with dealers will also play a good part in your numbers.

TX, FL, Chicago are hit or miss between 1000 to 2000 below.

CT, NY, NJ, DE, PA. 1000 to 1800 below

Seattle, 800 to 1400 below invoice.

There are members who have done better than above target prices ( not many) and some have barley hit the lower end of these targeted prices. ( use my target guide to help you negotiate the best deal in your area posted )

Get a deal in between these target prices you have done well. You are all in here to find a good price and make sure you deal is where it should be.

Don't be fooled into thinking that because @Brian125 or Joe from MA, or Mike from PA, can get a 2k below invoice price you could too. Make your best deal out of your target dealerships using the pricing guide. Whether its 500 below invoice or 2500 below you did the best you could this month.

Good luck today all you smart shoppers.
