Hello, curious about the rates for May as well - is the X1 2 series (4 cy) the same rates as the x35 above? Also curious what the difference would be for 12k? Thanks!

".00129 and 66% for credit scores 675 or higher." I'm new to leasing, so please bear with me. The X1 I want with cold, lighting and premium packages has an MSRP of $40,050 and a selling price of $37,425. Based on a 10K/36 mth lease, what does the monthly lease payment compute to? I know I have to include sales tax (7%), registration and document fees, plus BMW's bank fee above whatever amount you state is a fair lease amount, Moderator. My thanks.

I'm also looking into an X1 lease. Is the money factor and residual rate standard across all dealers? I believe I have a tax rate of 7.5% in my current location. However, I am relocating to Denver and I'm not sure if should have them ship it there from Ohio or just buy the car there in Denver. I would be looking to target a sales price of 36-38k and do 12k/36 month lease. What do you think a fair lease price would be?

.00129 MF and 65% residual.
Those numbers are nationwide, though some (most?) dealers will attempt to markup the money factor for extra profit.
It's the same car in Denver. Why bother shipping it and dealing with re-registering it, along with sales tax issues? Just wait until you get there.
I'm getting numbers from a dealer for a lightly used demo (2500 miles) & they told me that the residual drops to 65% since it is used. Just want to see if that is normal/okay for them to do? Otherwise I'm getting a decent rate & they've matched the normal money factor which was marked up on our first set of paperwork.

The miles come off the residual, yes, but usually as a fixed dollar amount, not as an adjustment to the residual percentage.

I went to NJ BMW dealer yesterday to check out an X1 and I got these numbers:
MSRP: $41,850 Sell Price: $39,xxx (i forget at the moment) MF: .00129 Down (Trade): $3,500 --> Put towards tax, title, doc, etc... 15k miles/year 66% Residual
'15 X1 28i xDrive w/ Cold weather and Ultimate Packages
I could potentially put up to 7 MSDs according to the dealer as well.

I get $402/mo pre-tax with those numbers (assuming $39K for sale price). If you are paying all the sales tax up front, there is a discrepancy with the dealer quote.
Thanks for your help, Moderator. We're leasing for $395/month before bundling in the fees and taxes. We would not have done this well without your help!

Hi Moderator, I seem to be getting different numbers for a these based on the calculator in the Edmunds site. http://www.edmunds.com/calculators/car-lease.html I tried to run through a few of the questions on this thread and I'm consistently off.
For example, feeding in the above numbers, I get:
Sell Price: 3900 Residual = 3900*.66=25,740 total depreciation over 36 mos (with 3500 prepaid) = 39000-25,740-3500 =9,760 monthly depreciation = 271.11 finance fee = (3900+25740)*.00129=83.51 Total monthly (pre-tax) = 271.11+83.51=354.63 Taxes add up to 21.28 based on a 6% rate, so I get 375.90, which is exactly what the edmunds.com calculator gives me.

What am I doing wrong? This is driving me crazy!
Title/registration ($400-$500), acquisition fee ($795), dealer doc fee ($199-$399?). Tax on the acquisition fee and doc fee.. You have to account for all of those charges. Your $3500 can't all be going to CAP cost reduction (but, your math is correct, if you assume that).
Besides that, who pays MSRP for a car, you should be getting a discount. If the dealer is giving you their quote, then you have to get them to break down all the numbers for you.
Hi, Could you give me the current MF and residual on a 2015 BMW X1 3.5i AWD I was interested in the 24 month and 36 month with 10k miles per year. Also, do the BMW dealers let you negotiate how much you can put down initially. I wanted to put as little down as possible. Thanks very much for advice.

.00130 and 70% / 64%. $1000 buildout cash.
There is a difference between down payment and up front costs.
Up front costs include the bank fee, dealer fee, first payment and license or tag costs. Some of these can be added into the cap cost, others are unavoidable.
Down payment reduces the cap price and is not something we recommend; if the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose that money.
Please verify if build out cash is an incentive that is factored into the sale price we negotiate, right?
MSRP $40,645 Cap cost $36,630 MF .00170 Residual Value 63%
Upfront $2700, (Virginia SUT 4.1%)
$475 monthly with all taxes/title/doc fees for 3y/12k lease.
Is this a good deal? How do I apply MSDs to lower the price?
Thanks a lot,
MF is marked up from the base of .00130.
I would ask the dealer if the cap cost includes the buildout cash; they will probably say it is. Use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to help establish your target price.
Each MSD is the monthly payment rounded up to the next $50. Each MSD lowers the MF by .00007, and a maximum of 7 MSDs can be applied.
Hi everyone, I am trying to lease a 2015 X1 by end of month. However, it's my first time leasing a car and would like to get some advice.
My Transunion credit score is 706 and FICO score is 732, credit history is 3 years and 100% on-time payment. No delinquency. Will I be considered tier 1 or tier 2? And what will be the MF and residual value for 36/10,000.
The X1 I am looking at has MSRP $36095, will love to negotiate to $34000. How big of a chance will I be able to get this price? I checked the previous posts and calculated the below with 66% residual value and 0.0013 MF, will this consider to be a good deal?
MSRP: $36095 TARGET PRICE: $34000 66% Residual Value for 36/10,000: $22631.5 Depreciation/month: $323.85 Finance fee/month with 0.0013MF: $74 Pre-tax: $397.85 After NV 8.1% tax: $430.08
Target to get zero down.
Thank you everyone. Really want to be well prepared before getting to the dealership.

I went to dealership yesterday. They have the exact base model that I wanted with MSRP $33795, tried to negotiate with them for zero down but they quoted me the below price.
$455.26/month pre-tax included options (wheels & tire protection, appearance protection, total is $2258) with $600 down. Spent four hours in the dealership, personally not very satisfied with the price since I was aiming for $360/month pre tax before the protection which husband insisted on getting (comes out to be $62.7/month if divided equally.)
Now I am thinking the bmw lease special might even be a better deal than what I was quoted. What are your opinions on it?
• $3,834 Cash due at signing ◦ $289 First months payment ◦ $2,750 Down payment ◦ $0 Security Deposit ◦ $795 Acquisition fee • Included in payment: $1,000 Build-Out Cash

We don't recommend making a down payment on a lease .. the true payment is closer to $365/mo before tax.
There is a difference between $0 down and $0 out of pocket .. you will have some costs at the beginning of the lease:
bank or acquisition fee dealer fee first payment license or tag costs
Negotiate the best selling price you can and make sure the dealer isn't marking up the MF (should be .00130)
Is the MF and RV for a 2015 sdrive i28 the same as an xdrive?
Looking at a 2015 x1 RWD 36/12.
Dealers can manipulate the MF, but can they change the RV on a deal? Also I'm wondering if it's typical the residual will drop in the next month or two when the 2016s start shipping.

All X1's have the same numbers ... 63% residual for 36/12 and .00130 MF. $1000 buildout cash.
Residual is fixed by the bank; dealer cannot modify it.
Anything is possible with the future numbers; crystal ball is murky at the moment.
I am seeing some 2015 X1 'dealer demo' cars for sale (typically have 4000-6000 miles; have never been sold so pseudo 'new'). It appears that the $1000 factory $ is available on these cars, and can be leased. If it's possible to lease these, how is the 'msrp' determined, and the residual value? Are the residual % different than a 'new' model with zero miles?

For example, feeding in the above numbers, I get:
Sell Price: 3900
Residual = 3900*.66=25,740
total depreciation over 36 mos (with 3500 prepaid) = 39000-25,740-3500 =9,760
monthly depreciation = 271.11
finance fee = (3900+25740)*.00129=83.51

You should qualify for tier 1.

Thank you for your help!
Will report back for what deal I get
$455.26/month pre-tax included options (wheels & tire protection, appearance protection, total is $2258) with $600 down.
• $3,834 Cash due at signing
◦ $289 First months payment
◦ $2,750 Down payment
◦ $0 Security Deposit
◦ $795 Acquisition fee
• Included in payment: $1,000 Build-Out Cash
There is a difference between $0 down and $0 out of pocket .. you will have some costs at the beginning of the lease:
bank or acquisition fee
dealer fee
first payment
license or tag costs
Negotiate the best selling price you can and make sure the dealer isn't marking up the MF (should be .00130)

Looking at a 2015 x1 RWD 36/12.
Dealers can manipulate the MF, but can they change the RV on a deal? Also I'm wondering if it's typical the residual will drop in the next month or two when the 2016s start shipping.
Residual is fixed by the bank; dealer cannot modify it.
Anything is possible with the future numbers; crystal ball is murky at the moment.
