Yes, 2016. The "new" Malibu, not the "Malibu Limited", which is the old bodystyle. That has different numbers.

Dealer told me they got this car just one month ago, so I was really surprised the amount of lease cash available. I didn't get a chance to talk numbers because they didn't even have the car to sell..

That's the one ... I'm interested in the Malibu "Limited" which is the old bodystyle carried forward to 2016. It has over $4000 lease cash on it.

Amazing deals available. If I wasn't buried in a trade, I got a quote last week for < $125/mo + tax for a 1LT using my GM Points in addition to the lease cash.

Michaell, does that lease cash total include the competitive lease bonus as well? I am currently leasing an F-150, also have a $1000 Private offer discount. This deal could be too good to pass up ! Would be interested in an LT in CT 24mo/10k or 24mo/12k

No, the quote I got also included a conquest incentive on top of the lease cash - plus my GM points.

.00040 and 62% for 24/12; 63% for 24/10. $4085 lease cash.

Hi I got 2 quotes for new malibu 2016 2LT, 36/12, zip 03801. One is 2165 rebate and 0.00125 money factor, 59% residual, the other is 0.0004 with no rebate, 59% residual. Would you please confirm me what should be the exact rebate amount and money factor for me to expect? Thanks a lot!

2016 Malibu 2LT - .00040 and 58%. $2125 lease cash
2016 Malibu Limited LT - .00125 and 54%. $4085 lease cash

59% would be for 36/10.

I tried 3 dealers this weekend and while I did get the lease cash, residual & money factors for a 2016 Malibu 1LT quoted here. I could not get a sales price that made the deal compelling. For a vehicle with an MSRP of $26,135, the lowest sales price I was able to get was $24,000. I offered $23,000 which was not accepted.

Hello all,

I've been following this forum on dozens of vehicles for the last couple of years. I've always loved the insight it provides as buyers can never be fueled with enough knowledge especially as one can argue that leasing isn't as straight forward as your typical 0% for 60 mo finance offer.

With that being said, I decided to look at a 2016 Malibu as I've heard a lot of hype. I haven't seen any monthly payment quotes for the new model so I wanted to share what I was offered...

Nightfall Gray/Black
MSRP: $35,675
Net Cap Cost: $33,741
Taxes: $2,7xx
Residual: $19,978 (56%)
Money Factor:
Term: 39 mo
Miles: 12k
Payment with 1st month down: $345/mo

Not bad for a $36k car with virtually no money down. The premier has more features than one can imagine... it even parks itself. My only complaint is that xenon headlights aren't an option... c'mon GM. Regardless, it sounded like a good deal but I can't figure out where they got that when I punch the numbers in my home-built lease calculator. My numbers come back with the $370 range. But looking at the deal more, rebates of $2500 were applied without any further negotiation on the price and the quote for taxes should reflect Illinois' lease law which states a lessee pays taxes on the depreciated value, not the purchase price. This leads me to believe I can do a little better. Ultimately, I would shoot for $329.

The dealer experience was great, this was the first and only offer they presented to me after the test drive. I didn't try to negotiate as I will have to remain in my Volkswagen lease probably till the end of the summer-ish. I think the dealership wants me to have the Malibu more than I want it (which is good for me), so I'm sure they'll be on me about getting out of the VW CC.

FYI, for those wondering why the rebate may seem larger, the Chicago Auto Show is going on which gives dealers an extra $500-1000 to play around with, depending on the model.

I'll be heading to dealership on Monday the 15th to negotiate a deal on a NEW Malibu 1LT with convenience and technology. MSRP is $26,700. I'm going to see if I can get under $200 with ZERO out of pocket.
I'll post my results then..I've had some preliminary emails back and forth with one dealership here on Long Island. We'll see.

The numbers we have are from GM Financial .. could this be funded through a different bank?

I went to two dealerships yesterday to negotiate a $199 lease
for NEW design 2016 Malibu 1LT with Conv & Tech package.(MSRP $26,790)
Lease is 24 month/12K miles, paying only DMV and 1st payment at signing in NY.
At both dealerships, lease cash and rebates totaled $4,125..($2,125 + $500 + $1,500 conquest).
Residual 66% and MF .00050.
1st dealership started at $309, and after an hour eventually came down to $269 and didnt budge after that. I never got the sell price from him, only I was told it was $700 below invoice. Not happy with this dealership price, I went to another.
2nd dealership started at $249 and after long negotiating and trying to leave dealership two times, I was able to get my $199 per month. They didn’t have car color (Silver Ice), and are doing a ‘locate’, which will take a couple days I was told. I left a $500 deposit. I’ll post sell price/net cap cost etc..numbers after I pick up vehicle, but message to all, it pays to shop around.
