Hello, Can I get the Residual and Money Factor for the 2016 Mazda 6, Touring with Bose and Tech Package, 36/10K, for Northern CA? Are the numbers different for the Touring trim without the extra packages? Thanks!
hi Michaell, I wonder why we were given a quote based on 61% residual and 0.00051 money factor. I thought residual values are set by Mazda? Was the money factor padded? We have excellent credit but weren't asked about it when given the quote. Thanks!
Residuals are set by the bank and cannot be modified.
MF can be marked up .00050 by the dealer for extra profit.
So, maybe they made a mistake on the residual?
Regarding the money factor, is the 0.00050 markup limit true only for Mazda or for other companies as well?
Do we then ask for the base money factor of 0.00001?
Thanks so much for all your help! We've learned a lot just reading all the threads with questions and answers.
All makes allow dealers to mark up the MF on a lease.
Don't negotiate the MF .. simply tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. They know the base rate.

Can't explain why the residual was different.
Thanks so much, Michaell. We appreciate it! This is our first time venturing into the "lease jungle"
Is the 36 month term the best option this February for a Mazda 6 Touring with 12k miles a year? Southern California region. Want to see if its worth going with 33 instead.

Was the Mazda Customer Lease Support cash bumped to 1,350? This is in SoCal for Mazda 6 Touring trim. I am seeing the new promos with this amount instead of the 1k in earlier adverts. Dealer said he would apply any lease cash available...any confirmation would be really helpful.

If there has been an update to the incentives, we haven't seen them.
Hope you are well, and thank-you for all that you do for us here. You were very helpful to me over on the CX-5 board when I leased my GT AWD last July, and now my fiancee has the Mazda bug and is looking at a Mazda 6. Here's what we've been offered as a sign and drive (literally nothing out of pocket) for a GT with Tech, AW Mats, Soul Red Paint, MMS, Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Bumper Guard, and Wheel Locks. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts:
MSRP: $34,835 Negotiated Price: $33,200 - Incentives $2,350 + Fees and 1st Month: $794 = Net Cap Cost: $31,644 Residual @ 55% = $19,159.25 MF: 0.00001
Payment: $347.31 + RI sales tax
Seems pretty good to me, and it took a lot of work to get to this point. Just want to be sure I'm not missing anything.

I confirm the .00001 MF and 55% residual for 36/12 on the 6 GT.
Looking at 2016 Mazda 6 Touring (Bose + Moon roof)- AT transmission
Right now the dealer is offering the car for $23,700
What would the MF and Residual be if I decided to lease it? 36/12 instead of buying?
Also, the dealer insisted to know if I was purchasing or leasing saying that the price if I wanted to lease would be different (I could not understand why, I don’t think he even tried to explain other than some nonsensical excuses). Is this true and acceptable? I told him Purchase and that is what he based the price on
Please let me know what you think of the deal? First time new car buyer so limited experience
I was thinking of countering his offer at $23k including dealer fees ($699)- i am being ridiculous?

Florida tax, registration, etc to be added
36/12 on 6 Touring Auto - 55% and .00001. $1000 lease cash.
Yes, there are different incentives for buying vs leasing, so the net price could be different. However, negotiate your best selling price before applying any incentives.
Use the "make / model / year" pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools - the TMV is an 'average' that you want to undercut.
I'm interested in the Touring. If a dealer advertises a selling price of $24k for the model, the lease cash is in addition to the $24k making the cap costs $23k or is it usually already included in the $24k? Would now be a good time to lease a 2016 model? Any updates to what changes we can expect for 2017 model as the 2016 just got refreshed?

In general, offers from the dealer include the incentives. However, I would confirm that with the individual dealer.
Can't tell you when a good time to lease is .. numbers are pretty strong on the 2016 model, don't think they'll get much better.
No information on what differences there may be in the 2017 model.
Well I got the following quote from the dealer. $209/month for 36 months/12k miles. $490 due at signing.
MSRP: $25120
They did not give me the selling price but I reverse calculated it based on the MF of 0.00001 and RV of $13313.6. Selling price is then $21315.
Does this seem like a good deal? Not sure if that includes tax. I asked them to clarify. If it does, then the selling price is really more like $20900.

The deal is with tax... do you have the 24 month/24k miles numbers as well? Haven't asked for a quote yet but would like to see given my calculation of the selling price. Would prefer 2 years but not if it's a huge percentage increase in monthly payment. Thanks for your help!

Hey I am in the middle of negotiating with two different dealers. This is for a M6 touring (automatic) with moonroof and bose speakers 3/36. Just wanted to confirm the MF and RV. One of the dealers is quoting me a MF of .00001 and a adjustment for credit score of 660-679 of + .0006. The RV is 53%. Are those numbers accurate? The finance guy was showing me the matrix.

I confirm the RV (dealer can't adjust this), but the uplift for 660-679 credit score is only .00030. I suspect the matrix he showed you was home made and exists to show his "transparency" when he pulls it out to show the customer.
michaell - I might have my notes a little off. Can you give me the uplift for 640-659? I believe that was at .0006 Assuming I had a 650 score then my MF would be .00001 + .0003 + .0006 ? or just .0001 + .0006 (assuming thats the adjustment for such credit score).
I know the finance guy used .00061 as the MF but that was without running my credit and maybe assuming I came under the 660 score.

I was wondering if I could get the 36/10 and 36/12 residuals and MFs for a GT w/ Tech in Georgia. Any advantage to doing a shorter or longer term (e.g. 33 months or 39 months)? It looks like the residuals dropped substantially from April to May, although lease cash is up to $2,340. I'm also a current Mazda owner so I get the additional $750 on top of that, but I think I might have gotten a better deal in April when the residuals were higher.

If you are top tier credit, work on the MF. Tell them politely that you won't sign a deal where it's been marked up. They know what the base rate is.

I know you guys never recommend leasing if the intention is to buy it out at the end of the lease period. But considering the generous lease cash (2340) and the negligible MF, would it be a smart move to lease the car and then buy it out later.

Not usually, but you'd have to run the numbers both ways to see.
What is the current promotional APR if you buy outright?

0% for upto 36months and 0.9 upto 63months.
So, pretty close to 0 to buy, as well.
Remember, in three years your leased car will be used; when you go to finance it, you won't get the extra special interest rates. Then, you have to think about how long you plan to finance the car for at lease end. Oh, and you'll pay sales tax on the financed amount.
As I said, you'd have to run the numbers both ways to see which makes more sense.
