with MF of .00010, residual of 59%, tax of 8.25% (in IL) for 36/36
Zero down, will roll $595 acquisition fee into payment
coming up with payment of $226-seem right?
This is a solid deal, I would jump on it if the numbers are correct and there are no add-ons of surprises. Adq Fee is 625 I believe...
@ccorcoran Did you ever end up leasing this car? $226 on a sign and drive for a $31,600 GLI SEL? I am looking at other makes but if this is remotely possible I will look into the GLI. I find it hard to believe a dealer would discount this car by over $6K.
@ccorcoran thanks! Would you be able to post the details of your deal? I have a dealer running numbers for me today. Looking at a GLI SEL 6 speed manual.
Mods, can you confirm the MF and residual on GLI SEL with 36months and 12k in New York. Can you also confirm 24 month with 12k? Would consider a 2 year lease if numbers are good. Thanks in advance ..

@tijuana19 Thanks for confirming this. Looking for a GLI SEL 6MT manual. ill see what th dealer can do on a sign and drive. What was the net cap cost on your deal? $230 for a sign and drive on a GLI is excellent! Would've looked at an SE but no xenons on the SE which I think is dumb for VW to do since you can get them on a Jetta sport.

Here you go, repost of my original deal:
MSRP: 29,240 Selling price: 25,300 (-)Rebates: 1,000 Final Price: 24,300
MF: 0.0001 Residual: 59 Term: 36
Only first month payment due at signing, all other fees (TTL, Adq Fee) rolled into the lease. Monthly: $230.00 + Tax
Xenons would have been nice you are right at this trim level, but I wanted the best deal and jumping into the SEL would have added $900 over the life of the lease, which didn't make much sense to me since I am not keeping the car.
You are right on the Jetta Sport being a super value, but at this price the GLI is worth it.
Looking for a 16 Jetta Sport or GLI manual in NJ. Was offered this on a base Sport Manual:
Msrp 22,115
Discount price 19,600
36 months 12k
Residual 54%
Money factor 0.00001
All tax/fees included
300 first payment
257/mo
Ok?? Seems high to me...seems like better incentives earlier in year. Maybe wait until late summer...
$213/mo. with those numbers. To get to $257/mo., need to add about $1575 in taxes, title/license, acquisition fee. Probably close.
There is $1750 lease cash on this vehicle, so that makes your effective discount from MSRP about $800. That's not a big discount, but probably about average.
Ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP cost (should be somewhere around $21,175), and the amounts added before calculating the lease. Tax, title license, $625 acquisition fee, dealer fees, unwanted accessories, etc. Make sure all of those numbers make sense. Tax should be around $600.
If all that looks good, the only way to go lower is to get a better selling price.
Ask them to price out a GLI. Same money factor, higher residual, less lease cash. Even though it's a more expensive vehicle, it might not be as much more as you might think.
My calculations actually came up a few cents higher, but I'll take it. This was the dealers first offer. A net of $5095 off MSRP with no haggling, plus the additional $1000 Memorial Day rebate, seemed like a great deal to me. Easiest buying experience ever. If anyone wants a referral for the Metro DC area, message me.

Is now a good time to lease a VW (compared to financing)? Is there a much better model that might just be a little bit more expensive?
.00001 MF and 52% residual. $1750 lease cash.
Sport: .00001 MF and 54% residual. $1750 lease cash
GLI: .00001 MF and 58% residual. $1000 lease cash. That might be a big step up in price, though.
Those are pretty good lease programs.
Thank you! As a first time buyer, I have a dumb question about the lease cash:
During the negotiations with dealers, do I first settle down the selling price after all rebates, then drop the big bomb saying, "you should deduct an amount of $1750 lease cash additionally, since I'll be leasing"? Is this how it works?

It all depends on if the lease cash is a dealer incentive or consumer incentive.
In this case, it's a dealer incentive. So, negotiate a low price, knowing they have this money. It's not something due to you as a rebate.
Hey guys, so I've never actually posted on here but I used the tools/advice you guys give to close a deal on a Jetta GLI today and I figured I'd share.
2016 GLI SEL with DSG 36 months, 15k miles MSRP: $31,435.00 Net Cap Cost (after $1000 rebate): $27,776.09 MF: 0.00001 Residual Value: 56% Down Payment: $0 (I owed $741 in inception fees but no actual down payment) Payment before tax: $283.02 Payment after tax (in FL): $300.00
Considering it's a custom-order only car (the dealer just so happens to order these and keep them on hand), I figured it was a good deal.
Thank you again to everyone who posts on here and helped me figure this whole leasing thing out!

Almost $7K off? That's great!
However, I'm thinking that the adjusted cap cost is higher than your sale price - ask for that number from the dealer, and make sure you understand what's been added.

You guessed right! The dealer told me the "adjusted cap cost" is about $570 higher. Does this matter? I don't quite understand why he came up with this, since the price of $16,613 already included all the rebates (totaling $2000).
