I'll remember that. There are also 0 down vs. some sort of down payment. Fortunately I'm not in a hurry at the moment.

You don't want to make a down payment on a lease (known as a 'cap cost reduction') - if the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose that money.

Only up front cash due at signing should be acquisition fee, first payment, and necessary government fees and taxes.

Hello, I am looking to lease a 2017 Volt LT in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Anyone know what i can expect for MF, Residual % , lease cash, etc. on 36 mo. lease?
would like to know for both 12 k per year and 15k per year.
I am currently leasing 2013 volt so should qualify for $500 in loyalty cash as well?
    Thanks for any help.

.00040 MF and 50%/48% residual. $4610 lease cash.

No idea if the incentives will stack.
KYFDX: Do you have residual values for 2017 Volt LT for mileage greater than 15k/year ?

18k or 20k or even 23 k values would be good if you have them

GM charges .20/mile for any miles over 15K annually, deducted from the calculated 15K residual.

    Hypothetical numbers:

$40,000 MSRP, 50% residual for 36/15. You want 20K miles per year, or an extra 15K miles over the term of the lease.

    15,000 * .20 = $3000. 50% residual is $20,000, so adjusted residual is $17,000.

Really appreciate all the feedback you have been giving. Anything recent on a 12k/36 Premier lease in Florida (either conquest or loyalty should be applicable to my two existing leases)?

Dealer is saying .00060 MF and 50% residual. $6235 lease cash which I assume includes some partial lease cash in exchange for the federal $7500 rebate?

36/12 on the Volt Premier is .00060 and 49%. I see $4235 lease cash in my information, though it's possible there is an extra $2000 we don't know about.

Yes, the lease cash is to offset the $7500 from the US Government.

I had heard the residual may have dropped for August 2016 numbers on the LT.

What are the numbers for Southern California region LT model 36mo/12k and lease cash?

Dealer I spoke with said it's $4,610 plus $2,250 - then I see the $1,000 private offer from the Chevrolet website to print out and present for purchase or lease of a 2017 Volt. I asked the dealer if that could be included in the rebates but he said no, $6,860 would be the maximum applied. Then I read other people are stacking the $1,000 PO for an effective $7,860 taxed incentive after negotiated sales price. Is stacking invalid or is that up to dealership discretion?

    Just spit balling here:

$34,095 MSRP - assuming no dealer add-on's or add-on's removed at their discretion
    $30,700 Sales Price (~10% off)
    $7,860 taxed incentives ($4,610 + $2,250 + $1,000)
    $595 Acquisition Fee
    = $23,435 net cap cost

    Residual = 50%
    MF = 0.00040

    Doc Fee ($80), License/Registration ($260) = $340
    Disposition Fee = $395

Monthly Payment including 8% sales tax = $209
    Drive off = ($209, $340, $629 tax on cap cost reduction) $1,178

Roll it all together and it's $235 a month with a $395 disposition fee at the end ($11 extra). Why are co-workers telling me to get that waived, is that a GM financial move or dealership discretion as well? Might be a good end of month incentive on their part, huh?

Assuming the CA green tax fund gets replenished ($1,500) it'd work out to $204 including disposition. Not bad right!? Even without the additional check, still a great deal..But where am I missing numbers... I feel like this is too straight forward, there will be additional fee's and such to ruin the simple math.

    Thoughts? Laughter? Ridicule?

Thanks in advance for the August numbers!

I agree with your math - assuming you can get the cap cost to the $23,435 number.

So far as we know, the incentives should stack. Check with multiple Chevy dealers to confirm, however.

And yes, extra fees will muck up the numbers.

If I deduct the rebates from the selling price, then add in the acquisition fee, I get $388/mo with tax added in.

What payment is the dealer quoting you?

How much is due at signing?

I am in southern california. What are all the incentives/rebates I can get on a LT? Also, a general question on leasing - does it make sense to do a 0 sign and drive? Does it make sense to roll in dmv fees and cap reduction tax?

Roll in everything that is taxable. Pay non-taxable items (like DMV) upfront. If you roll DMV into the payment, then that amount gets taxed. If you roll everything in, there will be no CAP reduction tax, because there won't be any CAP reduction.

Sorry but I am not understanding the part about "there will be no CAP reduction tax". Doesn't the lease cash gets applied as cap reduction and I have to pay tax on that?

Yes... you'll pay CAP reduction tax on the rebate. No, you don't want to roll that into the lease (unless you want to pay tax on your tax).

Just wanted to share. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but I leased a LT with leather and some dealer-added options with an msrp around $36,000. 3 years with 12K. $500 total drive off. Monthly $210 including tax. Thanks for the help here. Such a great weapon to have when you are so well-informed.

    BottomsUp - that's a fantastic deal!

I went to the same dealership (Simpson Chevrolet in Garden Grove) and worked with Gilbert Fierros on a Volt LT with leather and comfort pack - MSRP was $34,455, rebates were $8,360 including $4,610 & $2,250 GM CCR, $500 model B/C, $1,000 private offer.

    Here's my lease contract

Amount due at lease signing or delivery was $8,360

36mo/12k year, first month's payment included, zero down, all included (acquisition, disposition, etc.) came out to 35 payments of $240.02 and two extra oil changes thrown in on top of the GM maintenance.

So far I really dig the car.

    Congrats petrohead2.

My salesman was Mike Pronesti. He is the Internet sales manager. Really cool guy. Couple emails and I went down there and done. No haggling. The deal was exactly as he said.

I really like the car too. I should get some commission from them.

Hi - I am new to leasing a car, and I apologize if I'm asking a question that has been answered here so far. I just looked at a 2017 Chevy Volt Premier MSRP at 40,000, and after discounts, I will estimate I can get it for 35,900.00

    A few questions:
    1. Can someone share what a good lease rate/arrangement should be? I am in Redwood City California.
    2. Given what the deals are, is it better to lease or buy? I am looking at adding extra miles too - top up to 17,000 miles per year

Thanks and I really appreciate the patience from everyone willing to help here.

The miles per year may tip your decision to buy, rather than lease. You can buy extra miles up front, but they will affect the residual value.

Also, how long you plan to keep the car will determine whether it's better to buy or lease.

I'm looking to lease on a 2017 Volt but have never leased before so this is all new territory for me. My main question is, how do cash rebates come into play for Volt leases? Do they reduce the selling price? Or no? Is there a cash rebate number I should be expecting in the Bay Area?

With no negotiation whatsoever (yet!), I received this offer today for a fully loaded LT. I'd want to get them down on selling price and don't plan to put anything down (and I've asked for MF), but with the dealership making no mention of cash rebates I'm not sure how that factors in here.

    MSRP = $39,930

    Selling Price = $37,900
Adjusted Residual = $19565.70 (49% of the MSRP)

    36/12k lease

    $3,000 down
    $390 per month

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Lease cash on the Volt through GM Financial is either $4610 or $4235.

Yes, lease cash/rebates are deducted from the selling price to get a Net CAP cost.
You should ask for all of the numbers..
    Money factor
    Residual
    Adjusted CAP cost

And, to keep things simple, tell them you only want to pay $1000 at lease signing. Do that everywhere you shop, and it will be much easier to compare quotes.

Perhaps this is a naive comment but in general why are the Southern CA leases coming out in the low $200's versus other areas (including NorCal) where they are coming in more in the high $300's? Is there some additional incentive at play?

The offer I got in SoCal was in the high 300s. I gave it a pass. May also depend on LT vs. Premier too.

Dealers are free to discount the selling price to whatever they think will make a sale. Some dealers are more *cough* greedy than others, shall we say?

Looking for MF, Residual in Florida for 2017 Chevy volt LT with 36/12k and 36/15k. Also I see about the $1000 Chevrolet private offer? Any idea on how to get that offer to come up on my computer screen?

Oh okay. I thought there may be a SoCal government incentive or something. Thinking of getting one and I can buy in SoCal or Oregon pretty easily as I have residency in both.

Thanks. Is the residual higher on the LT vs the Premier? If so, would it be better to buy an LT with upgrades?

    I was wondering that myself.
