What was the msrp of the car? (did it have any options or packages?)
MSRP was 28,545
Cap Cost is 23,138
Put down 651 (which was DMV + 1st Months Payment).
239 a Month
If you need any other info - please ask
2016 Hyundai Sonata Limited - didnt have any other options. whatever comes standard in a Sonata Limited
Not 100% sure how the numbers work, but that is a great price for that car!
i've done lease calcs for a while and i couldn't figure out how to make that deal work. I told him to run and get it before they figured out their mistake. Turns out there was an additional $750 incentive just for the weekend (not sure if it was a dealer thing or a hyundai thing).
made an excellent deal into an awesome deal - nice job @hs11791
Alright finalized my deal. 2016 Sonata SE 36 month/15k lease .00058 MF 53% Residual MSRP = 22,895 Dealer Discount -2,944.05 Acquisition/Title +612.00 (was told wrong by salesperson that they didn't have acquisition fee, but also told me the wrong money factor as well, which was a net essentially) Total Gross Cap Cost = 20,562.95
Military -500 Uber -1,000 Summer Sales -1,000 Lease Cash -2,000 Total Cap Cost Reduction = 4,500 Adj Cap = 16,062.95
Residual = 12,134.35 (53%)
1st Monthly Pmt 132.38 (125.48 + 6.90 taxes --5.5% tax rate) Doc Fee 179 Total Paid at Signing = 311.38
Rent Charge = 588.68 (16.35/Month) based on .00058 MF
Thanks to all with the info as I was able to make sure I got the best deal possible (at least I think I got a decent deal). Paying $16k for a $23k vehicle works for me.

That is an awesome deal! Were there any options on the SE?
Looks like post labor day there are some good deals on the 2016 sonata hybrid. What is the RV/MF on a 2016 hybrid limited? 36/12. in TX. I'm seeing 4k in customer cash and another 2500 from dealer bringing price to 24550. before negotiations. seems like a great deal. thoughts?
Could I please get info on the MF/RV for a 2016 Sonata Hybrid Plug In, base trim, 12k/36 months. Please include info on any lease bonus cash outside of fed tax incentive. Lease would be in CA.

My apologies. I believe I posted my question initially on the main forum instead of this one.
Hello, I am new to car leasing and trying to get opinions on this deal I was quoted via email. I was quoted these #'s on a 2016 Sonata Limited lease (no extra packages). MSRP: $28465.00 SELLING: $26080.36 RATE: .00065 RESIDUAL: .54 ADJ RESIDUAL: $15371.10 REBATES: $3500.00 (I assume the 2750 lease rebate incentive along with the 750 current Hyundai owner) Lease at 36 months with 12k a year would be $157 a month with a total of $1968 out of pocket.
I live in Nassau County, NY and my tax rate is 8.625%. NY charges the sales tax on the total lease payment upfront.
Is there anything else I should be looking for/asking about concerning this lease. Is there a way to calculate the OTD lease price for this car or am I missing any valuable info to determine this? Thanks for your assistance.

If your selling price is the cap cost, I get $324/mo before tax.
Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, and the breakdown of the out of pocket costs.
Also, we don't have the Hyundai numbers this month, so we can't tell you if the MF is marked up or not.
If you don't have the numbers, where else can I get them from? Will Hyundai Motor Finance give them out if I just call up and ask? This site has been an invaluable resource and facilitated every lease I've negotiated. Every time I walk in to a dealership, they try to push the "customer just fell with yesterday's rain" numbers on me and I pull out the "real" numbers and they cave. When I leased my Genesis, the manager pulled me into his back office and said "It's rare that we get someone who knows how to lease a car, so I'll cut through the bull$hit."
FWIW: Looking for Resid/MF for a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid Limited 15k/yr.

I don't know of any other source for this information. For sure HMF won't give them to you.
Single point of failure! i know it's not edmunds fault for not having the numbers but it sure makes leasing more difficult when you don't have a second source of info to check the dealer's numbers
notice the lack of activity for the hyundai sonata both here and at the hyundai-forums web site
What were the august numbers for the car described? Other things being equal, do they tend to be tied to Prime Rate fluctuations?
without numbers i would revert to my old rule-of-thumb for leasing. Anything less than 10 dollars per 1000 of msrp is a good deal. example - lease a 30k car for less than 300/month (just add tax which varies by state)
So I spoke to a couple of dealerships. One had numbers expiring on 9/30, another on 10/5. The MF for both regular and plug-in Hybrids are currently .00125 for 12K and .00145 for 15K.
Hello, I have a lease question concerning sales tax. I recently (May 2016) leased a 2016 Sonata in the state of New Jersey. The vehicle was registered in NJ. In July I moved to Pennsylvania and registered the car in PA. My most recent statement from Hyundai leasing includes a PA Sales/Use tax on top of the original lease payment. My understanding is that NJ sales tax was calculated in the original payment. Now PA sales tax is being added to that. Seems like double taxation to me. Has anyone had this experience? Any tips/advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

NJ collects sales tax upfront, while PA taxes the monthly payment. From PA's perspective, they don't know what went into the payment, just that it has to be taxed.
I'm not sure you have anyway around this, and PA taxes are 9%-10%, as well. That's a big bite.
Your best chance might be asking to NJ to rebate a portion of the tax, since the car is no longer in NJ, but I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope.

Also any thoughts if the deals will get any better for September?
36/12 on the Sonata Limited 2.4 is .00087 and 56%. $2000 lease cash.
36/15 res is 54%
make sure you get at least 10% off msrp as the sell price
also, the $1000 summer cash applies to leases
regarding post 9/6: there is no way to know but i doubt they will get worse as this is the end of the model year
No idea what will happen next month.

August numbers won't help, either. There's no pattern to the numbers from month to month.

Residuals:
Hybrid: 12K/.51, 15K/.49
Plug-In: 12K/.47, 15K/.45
The "best" deal I've seen is a Plug-In hybrid:
MSRP: 39640
Dealer Discount & Lease Cash: 11561
Net Cap Cost: 28079
Nice discount, but that 45-47% residual does not seem very lease friendly.

He just told me the lease numbers RV 49% and MF .00219 for 2016 Limited with Tech Package. 36/12k
Are the Lease numbers different with the Tech Package?
Confirm the bank the lease is funded through - we only have the numbers for Hyundai Finance.
No difference in the numbers based on options or packages.
