No, not an Aston Martin - very far from it... Funnily enough it is the same name as the most famous character to drive one, however...

Yes - but due to its design you were more likely to be shaken than stirred if travelling in it...

Not one of the three-wheel ones is it?

Yes, its a Bond Minicar - probably a Mark E, like this one -

This brochure is 1958 but they made it in various versions for quite a few years.

I guess I forgot that three wheelers were quite popular over there for a time.

    Nope, the 430's predecessor, a 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena.

Yeah - austerity Britain. Probably be going back there on the way to the stone age in a few years - or it feels like it here at the moment.

    Smokey and the Bandit.

The car in front of and those behind the fintail are spottable too.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,935
70 or so Caddy DeVille in the far back.

the car behind the Fintail sorta makes me think of a Volvo 240.

Yep a Caddy from that era is way back there. Behind the fintail looks like a Toyota Corona to me, in front of it a BMW 2002. The truck at the gas station should be solvable to a sharp eye, too.

I always wondered if they painted the cop car poop brown to go with the dangling toilet paper scene B)
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,935
I can't tell for sure either car around the Fintail.

I think the white PU is a Jeep.

To me, the white truck looks like a 58-60 Ford, but it is pretty obscured. The other car in the gas station is maybe an earlier Falcon pickup?

    Very good!
I found another still from the gas station scene and it is a Falcon.

At the start of this topic we agreed on certain rules, here they are from Post #1:

Let's try to find some oddball or little known cars
and see if we can stump our fellow THers with them.

I propose adhereing to a few simple rules--

    1) No pix over 470 pixels wide per TH regulations

    2) No pre WWII cars (MY 1946 and newer only)

    3) No one-offs or customs.

    4)NO CHEATING by right clicking!

    How about it?

    Emphasis added.

Hey, I did not right-click. I just (left-)clicked to get a full-sized pic and it was right there in the address bar staring me in the face. I'll try to put blinders on in the future and be a good boy. ;b

Sometimes that happens in certain browsers I think. If I really want to give everyone a hard time with a photo, I will first download it to my computer and change the file name.

    It's a 6C 2500. Quite modern looking compared to 1948 U.S. domestics I think.

There was the 2500SS, the 2500 cabriolet, the Freccia d'Oro and the Villa d'Este--so a total of 2,594 cars.

They were very special cars, so I'd expect quite a large percentage of survivors.
