Please advise on the January 2018 MF and RV for a 36/10 lease of a 2018 A5 P anD P+ In California. Looking to maximize MSDs if they significantly reduce the MF. Please confirm if Audi accepts a maximum of 9 MSDs. I’m early in my research and am also curious as to the MF reduction per MSD. All this will help calculate the benefits of MSDs. Thank you.

What body style - coupe, convertible or Sportback?

Not certain, but we think the Audi MSD program allows 9 MSDs, each of which reduce the MF by .00005

Thank you Michaell. The MF is fairly high and probably driven by the popularity of the A5 sportback model. Is the MF and residual value for the 2018 S5 sportback premium or premium plus different / better?

To summarize, the January MF and RV for a 2018 A5/S5 sportback in either the premium or premium plus configurations are,

- 2018 A5 Sportback, premium or premium plus with a 36/10 lease has a MF of 0.00195 and RV 59%.

- 2018 S5 Sportback, premium or premium plus with a 36/10 lease has a MF of 0.00190 and RV 62%.

I believe the residual value is calculated from the MSRP but the total principal is determined from the difference of the negotiated price for the specific car selected minus the residual value that Audi Finance determine from the MSRP (the RV) plus a few fees that can be rolled into the principle. True? Then the interest on this ‘loan’ is the MF - number of MSDs (up to 9 MSDs for Audi).

Dealer can tell you a lot of things. The numbers above are the ones for top tier credit.

Dealer can mark up the MF for extra profit.

Thanks! Are these numbers the best we can get or can be negotiated further? I went to the dealership and they quoted a higher MF 0.0019 and willing to reduce to 0.0009 and they said they can't change the RV. Is that true?
Sorry I'm new to leasing any tips would be super helpful.

Residual is fixed by the bank.

.00053 is the base money factor. Anything over that is a dealer markup, that produces extra revenue for them. Anything above .00053 is negotiable, assuming you have top tier credit.

The lease on my A6 is almost up. I was thinking about a Volvo V90, but the numbers suck. So time to consider sticking with Audi. Hoping to get some numbers to plug into my lease calculator to see what works.
