I suspect it would sell in a heartbeat at 5-7K around here anyway.

Sadly, it is 2wd and automatic. Otherwise, nice find.

interesting that it is a 22R and not 22RE if an '88. Looks like they offered both for several years, although I have no idea why.

Very cool find, always liked those years for Toyota, bought a brand new Corolla FX three door in silver that year once we got settled in the new house. Was silver and after I installed the bolt on Toyota wheels covers, I was happier than a pig in crap! Bought it out the door for $8K plus my Datsun 210 hatchback. Remember how my grandmother saw that we now had 3 infants in diapers and hated me commuting in that ole "Datsoon" as she called it. She decided that I needed a new, bare bones commuter vehicle and gave me a check for $7K. My father-in-law knew what was going on and found out somehow that we were a grand short trying to get the deal done so he gave my wife a $1000 and said just go get the damn thing!
It was our first Toyota and it was just the best vehicle ever. Small enough to fit on my side of the garage, economical for my commute to work and a great complement to the wife's '85 Cutlass Supreme Brougham I think it was called.
Both Toyota and Honda could do no wrong then and I kept that vehicle until my next Toyota, a used Corolla, in 1997. Very fond memories of that puppy!!

KYFDX....I like the Toy Truck....a lot. I’ve known a lot of people who’ve had those and held onto them way past 200K miles, and they still ran. 4 Runners of that era were the same way.

For $7K, no harm, no foul.

Yeah.. if he had to dump it, someone would give him $5K within a day, so not worried about it. I'm his closest relative, but I live 90 miles away, so it's hard to keep an eye on him... :(

They made the 22R through the late 90s, and the 22RE began in 1982. I don't know how that all worked out in the USA though.

What year or type of S-coupe? I've also thought about something like that should I not buy out or re-up the lease, but their depreciation curve still resembles a rock thrown off a cliff until they fall below 10K or so, so I don't know how long I'd want to keep it, as they can age dangerously.

So, current list of new tire candidates include:
    Jag XE and E-Pace
    Audi A/S5
Alfa Romeo Giulia TI (hey, I drive British, how much worse can Italian be!?!)
    Porsche Macan?
Used MB S Coupe (yeah, that meets my criteria for smaller and more economical than my XF)
Acura NSX or BMW i8 (based upon my inevitable PowerBall win)

Jag does offer the best warranty/maintenance pkg. of the bunch. And, just something about Jags...

I've been keeping an eye on '15 & '16. Realistically still a bit pricey (could get quite a few new other cars for same/less than S Coupe used price, of course), but as I'm more of a GT than sports car guy, what a beauty! A very large, powerful, not very economical (frugal New Englander in me), expensive to maintain beauty...

My wife surprised me a bit; she said she wouldn't mind driving a newer 2 door Wrangler JK when the i3 goes back. It would replace the Mini and the TJ, so we'd be back down to three cars. I found a very nice 2016 75th Anniversary Sahara with literally every option- navigation, heated seats, Alpine audio, and limited-slip rear diff- I hope I can find something similar 8-9 months from now...

A stick would be nice. Just getting a light interior, sports seats, and ditching the awful wheels would be good enough.

If it were a stickshift, I'd be on it already--it's just down the block from me. Price is a bit high but I'm seeing similar prices on Craigslist.

I might actually like this one better:

    https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/2009-bmw-3-series-328i-4dr/6505999602.html

    Here's another--it lasted about 10 seconds online:

    https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ctd/d/2009-bmwi-sku9astation-wagon/6490725772.html

    And another:

    https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/d/2007-bmw-328i-wagon/6490837739.html

OK, I'll stop. Gee, not as rare as the dealer claims apparently. No manual trans in the whole bunch.

No, never offered a 335i wagon unfortunately. Probably the sportiest configuration you could get would have been an M Sport with a stick. I think Mrs @breld had o e of those at one time and it was a sharp long roof.

nice looking 5 series wagons pop up on BaT from time to time and seem to do pretty well.  I wish they would bring the current gen 5 series wagon over.

Still a little bitter about Murka not getting the C wagon, but as I would want it as a diesel (also now gone from this market, maybe forever), maybe it doesn't mean much.

It's weird to me that Canada has a much different MB lineup than the US, with option configurations closer to UK cars. Must be more profit margin in it, somehow - that, or the sheer number of US sales are subsidizing more interesting offerings elsewhere.

Given the size of the Canadian market, I'm surprised, too, that MB offers things that they don't here in the States - C-Class wagon, B-class (non-electric), E400 a year before it was available here.

Also SWB S Class, and I believe all non-AMG non-B Class cars are 4Matic. The option packages are really interesting to me, as they are much closer to the UK or Europe spec rather than American packages.

We get different model choices but sometimes less choice in their configuration in terms of colors, interiors, etc. Must keep a crew busy analyzing data and making those decisions.

Yup, Mrs. Breld had a 2010 328xi wagon, m-sport, manual. White over natural brown interior. It was amusing the attention it drew when she would take it into the dealer for service.

We sold it to a gentleman in the Boston area who was replacing an older manual 3-series wagon. I still keep in touch with him now and then - he's certainly enjoying the wagon and doesn't ever plan on getting rid of it (as well he shouldn't).

That’s a great deal on a good looking car. If it was there I didn’t see the option list. At that original MSRP, it should be pretty loaded. I was semi serious about one with a list of 39k and heated seats and a power passenger seat were optional.

Pretty. My budget won’t be stretching that far. Also too big.

My son texted before he found a CPO RS3 in ct. only one in country. And if he put down 12k + his car, and financed for 72 months, only $100 more monthly than his current loan! I suggested this was a poor financial idea, and in fact, not an appropriate use of his emergency fund. He might listen. Almost convinced to wait until he is out of warranty, then chip the A3, and get a convertible toy to go with instead.

Is anyone else looking forward to seeing the Subaru Ascent in person? It looks pretty attractive to me in a traditional, boxy SUV way.  Interior on the upper models looks pretty nice too. I fear that the boxer motor might struggle to move it along though.
