That's great news! You must be proud!
Ken
Well, how proud will you be by graduation? That sounds really great for her. Hope she is able to make the move okay
Congratulatiuons
Cheers
Graham
Cheers Pat.
I eventually had to close out my net connection and shut the computer down and startup again before I could get back in. its time Edmunds had better hamsters.
Welcome back Bit I had just remarked about a week ago that you were MIA. again.
Cheers Pat.
thank you, I'll be here all week. :-)
-Colin
Cheers Pat.
The really silly thing is that it stayed up for me the whole hour and I am in Australia. Now, explain that! Maybe Jave is caught by hyperspeed typists.
Cheers
Graham
Yeah .. was lagging, then I was bumped, too, but didn't have too much trouble getting back in ..
at least I finally remembered how to tell "chat time"
Bob
I got bumped twice. The second time I couldn't get back into the CHAT. In fact, I couldn't even log on to the Town Hall!
Bob
Bob, tell daughter to study hard so she can do a good job of taking care of you when you get old and feeble :-)
Steve, Host
The rest of the list, in Overall Ratings order, is:
Toyota RAV4
Toyota Matrix XR (AWD)
Subaru Baja
Honda CR-V EX
Hundai Santa Fe GLS (V6)
Ford Escape XLT (V6)
Honda Element EX
Mitsubishi Outlander XLS
Saturn VUE (V6)
Land Rover Freelander SE
Suzuki XL-7 Touring
Jeep Liberty Sport (V6)
Kia Sorento EX
Pontiac Aztek (AWD)
Nissan Xterra XE (V6)
Precisely the game plan—and it won't be long.... <grin>
Bob
HG
Tell her congrats.
Pat and I secretly installed a "Brenda delay" on the Java applet, but it was supposed to work on Brenda's keyboard only, so the rest of us could keep up. We'll be testing version 2.0 next week. ;-)
Barry: the Baja out-rated the CR-V? LOL
-juice
"Compared with the conventional pickups, the Baja is without peer in terms of the kind of everyday driving most people do. Some buyers may also consider it as an alternative to a small SUV. When scored that way, the Baja posted a very-good fourth place in the category, between the Toyota Matrix and Honda CRV..."
Funny story - my lil' sis has been car shopping, and today I was supposed to take her out for a 2nd round of test drives. Well, we had lots of rain, again. You may recall last time she went test driving it was raining, and she really preferred the AWD Forester over the Camry because it felt more planted.
We ended up post-poning, and might go next Friday.
Anyway, it was pretty funny. Mother Nature really wants her to get a Subie!
-juice
PS The NCAP quadruple 5-star ratings the Forester just earned might help sway my dad - Camry gets just 17/20.
So, which did you get, X? XS? What color?...
-Dave
Greg
Did you see the NHTSA gave it 5 stars in all 4 categories they rate?
Stick around, we'll make you feel at home.

The Doctor will likely not let my DW go past the due date. She's 'measuring' 1 week further, but he expects the baby to go full term (or at least to go that week).
-Brian
Juice-are you still taking letters for Patti? Let me know (bat1161@aol.com).
Welcome Mike & Barbara. Congrats on the Forester!
Dave(hypov)- I appreciate the house sitting offer, but my niece and her boyfriend took care of that.
Paisan-I think my wife would have a fit if the OB was auto-x'ed:-)Besides, I should do it first.
Steve(ffsteve)- Checked out the palces you recommended. That Cafe des Beaux Arts is nice for people watching. My wife and I did find a nice Italian place in Palm Springs called Kalura Trattoria. Excellent food!
I didn't see too many Subies in Palm Springs area (dealership looked small next to the Ford/Daimler Chrysler group); however we saw quite a few in San Francisco and in LA area. Thanks to the people here, I even recognized soem of the dealer tags:-) It was nice driving in a convertible (Mits. Eclipse Spyder), but it felt nice to get behind the wheel of my OB again.
Brian-Good luck- I'll say 6 lbs 8 oz.
Mark
I say June 4, our daughter's birthday. While I'm at it, same weight, 8 lbs 4 oz.
-juice
I'm gonna guess June 8th and...
10lbs give and take 4ozs.
Oh,... Congratulations!
-Dave
Oh, didn't see anyone answering Mike's RPM question so I will... yes 3000-3200 RPM is normal for 75-80 mph. If you're use to driving something with more cylinders, then yes, 4-cylinder engines do rev higher.
-Frank P.

Bob
OK .. I'm guessing ... May 29 at 10 lb even
and I possibly cannot guess the date
Congrats,
Greg
I guess it is inevitable that Brenda beat me too it at 10lb even and May 29.
Cheers
Graham
June 2, 9lbs. 5oz.
Good luck!
Ken

Not that my guess counts, but hey, it's my list! ;-)
If I missed anyone, chime in. :-) My dw is hoping that Brogan (or BroKan, LOL) is NOT 10 pounds, btw!
-Brian
but seriously .. I'm with the dw ... I wouldn't want a 10-pounder!
Steve, Host
Our first was 9-3 and our second 9-13.
I'm told you forget the pain when you're holding your bundle of joy.
Jim
So Brian, what does the winner win? How about naming rights for the middle name? :(o)
-Frank P.
-Brian
Good news - seven letters have already arrived in support of Patti. Please keep 'em coming! I'd like to have a dozen before sending them in.
Even a hand-written one pager, I'll pay the postage! C'mon Crew!
-juice
We should easily surpass my goal of a dozen, looks like 15 or more.
What can I say? The Crew loves Patti. For 15 people to take their own time (and postage) to write a letter in support of her presence here, that says a lot.
-juice
My wife having just had a 10 lb baby (she is 5'2") I dont wish that on anyone

Edmunds TMV and KBB are only $200 apart, so I averaged them ($10.7k). So after 5 years she only depreciated 44%. Pretty amazing.
I guess that takes into account the discounts when you purchase, because if you look at this list:
http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/list/top10/99268/article.html
...published by Edmunds, the residual for my Forester is higher than anything on their list!
We may be using different formulae, but don't let anyone tell you resale is not solid on Subarus.
