Before you say "KIA, are you crazy?"
It's got some very good reviews, maybe Paisan could chime in on it...I know he's been in tap with the forum more than I have....

Is AWD a pre-requisite because of the lack of snow removal in your area?
-juice
AWD? Well we want it for all the obvious reasons, and who knows where she'l be in 2 or 3 years.
Bob
I think it's overkill for her needs. Too bad she didn't like the cheaper Element.

that was the part I was (teasingly) wondering about Mrs. Bob... not who liked the CR-V and who liked the OBS.

But...and this is a tough one. We are car guys, the bottom line is it's hers, and she has to be happy driving it. If there are any regrets at least she won't blame you for it. Actually, that might be what puts her in a Subie the next time around.

Who knows, maybe we'll keep the Prelude a bit longer. Now that we know her clinicals are just a five minute walk from her apartment, as opposed to a 1/2 hour drive, which they could have been, some of the pressure is off.
Bob
Shoot, it takes me, oh, 7-8 years to get off The Fence.
-juice
There are family issues involved here too. As much as I would like to base this decision on purely a rational level, that may not be the case.
Bob
Yeah, I suppose we could get a late model Civic, or something like that I suppose; and she does have a FWD Prelude. But if I have the choice, and we can afford it, I'd rather it be an AWD car.

Cheers Pat.
Was in Sarasota, Fla last week, then three days at Disney. Kids had a blast!
Saw 4 Subies in Fla. Two Outbacks, a Forester XS and an L wagon.
Also, saw three (yes, three) Suzuki XL-7's in the parking lot at my in-laws place in Sarasota. They caught my wife's attention and she wants to look into them. Anybody have any experiences with them?

Unless she's surfing alone, a board inside the car will take up valuable space. Also, when you're at the beach you don't want to leave a board in the car because of the heat (wax melting, board warping, etc.)

just thinking of ways to keep her in a Subie. :-)
A CR-V would have to be about 2 years old to be in that price range, with just one year of warranty left.
Jon: I drove an XL7 with the wife a while back. It's sort of a strange feeling to drive such a narrow but tall, and long, vehicle. Plus the 3rd row is near useless. We didn't really like it, check out my review in the Town Hall Test Drive Team thread in News & Views.

In corners you can feel the AWD system lugging down the turns but it's not as drastic as say the Subaru system.
Huh?

Huh?

Can we ask for clarification?

I can post there, being a member of the team, but the topic is for reviews, not really comments/questions.

Sat in an X3 at NAIAS, it was OK, I think I liked it better than Ken did given the impressions he shared. Packaging sure is better than the X5.
I bet they'll sell well, watch.
