[this new interface is truly awful and non-intuitive. once a quote is started, i can only end it by
doing something else weird. i'm sure there's a way but how would i know? i liked the old interface fine, or the one before that.]
Thought trade in would be closer to $5k though.
I expect qb is spot on as usual, but I can't get my head around
paying $6k for a 15-year-old car.

2015 Honda Civic EX Coupe manual, 28k miles, no accidents but had to have passenger mirror and door panel replaced (shows up as damage reported on Carfax report). No damage to exterior minus the one time I drove on asphalt that wasn't dry and it shows on the inside of the wheel well.
I still owe 8k on the loan, would this make a private party sale difficult?
My gut says list it for $12,995 and you’ll get a lot of interest. Take $12k for it when given the chance.
As for your loan, you have a couple of options. Come up with the money (beg borrow steal) and get the title in hand OR meet the buyer at their bank and they will take care of paying the loan and giving you a check for the balance.

2009 Honda Accord Coupe V6 -- I'm guessing EX-L due to leather and sunroof, but it doesn't say.
Looks rather clean for a Michigan car, some chips in the paint but good otherwise.
Red over black leather, alloys, ok tires. 110k. Not much else known.
So it's an eleven-year-old car in the rust belt, but it's a Honda and it looks righteous. No asking price on it. I'm going to guess mid-to-high $3s across the block, and $6,900 asking at Friendly Sam's your-job-is-your-credit, but I"m just an amateur.
Thanks in advance, -Mathias

Edited to show V6 auto. Embarrassing. I got all confused cuz I texted a picture to my kid... a friend of hers is looking.

Thanks, q!
I did some poking around on cars.com -- asking prices are into the $9s with ~100k miles. CRAZY. But the $4 at the auction is not unreasonable at all for a nice one.
This car lot is a bit different; the guy pretty much does "my cost + X" for his prices, and usually comes in well below the competition. He tells me that a lot of his cars go to BHPH lots for more or less his asking price. I believe it.
He's got a remarkably clean black no-sunroof 2002 BMW 325i sitting next to the Honda. It's a stick and it looks OK from underneath. No price on that one either, but it's too old for my taste if it's local. BMW winter beater, anyone?

Regarding the red 2009 V6 Accord from a half dozen posts up; q said
About $4k at the block.
..and it now has a price on it: $5,500. Which is why I like the place. That's not going to hurt anyone.
A friend is thinking about checking out the 2005 Honda Element that's been sitting on the same lot for a couple of weeks. Also red, remarkably clean for a 15-year-old car, rips in the driver's seat that need a good seat cover or reupholstery, but otherwise in very nice shape. Nice enough I'm wondering if it isn't some sort of import. In a univesity town, that happens quite a bit, especially for cars traded at the VW/Subaru dealer.
It's an automatic AWD, miles unknown, asking $3,850. Those are sought after for some weird reason, so I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet.

posted this in a different forum and got a recommendation to try and post it here as well - i'll appreciate any advise
Long story short -
leased a 2017 Audi A4 Premium in 08/2016 for 36 month, 15K miles a year under certain assumptions.
2 months after leasing the car, my company moved my office from the original spot that was ~1 hour from my house (when driving on highways), to a 5 (!) minutes drive away from my house (no complains!).
End result is - i am finishing my lease this month with only 10K miles on the car and perfect mechanical/exterior condition instead of with ~45k…
The buying price of the car is ~24K (~26K with tax & dmv, etc.) , which to my surprise, is due to a 57% residual value (somehow i assumed it will be much lower for Audi A4 with theoretical 15k/year miles).
Checked caravana/vroom/etc. and they all offer ~1k less then the buying price (even worse with taxes), so a buy and sell to those companies doesn’t make sense.
My dealership agents (2 different agents) tell me i can’t go wrong with buying it (“it’s basically a new car”), and don’t even try to offer a new Audi lease (“your ending lease was too good and we can’t get even close to it”). But if it’s such a perfect deal, why don’t i get better offers from caravana/vroom etc…?
Question is - i am not “married” to Audi and have no problem to switch to a different brand - so do you, the experts of the used car world, think this price is a really good deal and i should buy the car at the current condition/price, or if it's not that attractive, just return it and get into a new leasing deal?
If buying is the recommended option - is the buying price negotiable (never did it before), or completely fixed…?
Thanks in advance!
also, Carvana and Vroom are buying at wholesale, and we list it to sell at ~$3,000 higher, so that is what you should compare the buy out price (retail) to.

This brings up a good question: How about offering the dealer where you turn it in $X for the car. At least with the domstics, dealers usually have dibs on lease returns; if he can make enough money, why wouldn't he turn around and sell it?
I ain't payin' $13,800 for a two-year-old Cruze with 20k miles... which is my buyout.. but I may offer $11 or $12 if the mood moves me. Has anybody done this?
Auction value for that A4 with those miles is mid $22ks.

And could the OP pay cash? To me, it'd be great not to keep paying lease payments.....
Even with the 10K miles for $24K, the OP will still have to make payments on a depreciating asset. It sounds like they are more interested in the car “on the cheap” rather than the car itself. Turn it in and move on to the next lease. Some of these companies have leases with 7,500 miles per year.

I have two for you for a friend. Unfortunately lacking any specific details so whatever you can do:
2013 Mazda Miata Grand Touring
Silver
6 speed manual
17k miles
Very good condition
2014 Honda Ridgeline RTL
White
Automatic
55k miles
Good condition but loved
Both in the Seattle area.
On a trade, figure right about $14k on the Miata, which will start dropping drastically come Fall. The Ridge about $21k-$21.5k.

I realize it is 6 yrs old, but losing more than 50% of MSRP in just 17k miles can't feel good.

It is my friend's Dad's car and he was ecstatic with the number. I told him to expect $12k.
The 1990 Miata had a base price of $13,800.

So, spot on if it goes through.
Works out well. My friend’s dad is older, doesn’t need two cars, but will benefit from the safety stuff on the CR-V plus get all the niceties of the Touring trim.
I figured he is getting the top trim and @1k below invoice, he'll get some cash back.
Maybe you'll get a commission.
