I looked at Legacy GT's, 2.5i's and OB LL Beans, although I was looking under the driver's seat, only. The models with power driver seat all have a flate, carpeted panel that comes down to within 1.5 inches of the floor, and that panel is fixed, i.e. doesnt move up or down with the seat bottom, but does move forward and rearward with the seat. Directly in front of that flat panel is a horizontal round metal rod that is part of the seat base. No subwoofers on the cars I looked into.

* Lebanese Taverna Express (Rockville)
* Ledo's Pizza (Rockville or College Park)
* Los Chorros (Wheaton)
Those are Middle Eastern, Italian, and Tex-Mex, respectively.
Seems like everyone has a turbo now! The Fence is getting lonely. Loosh, Brian, Mark, pretty soon Ken, who greased The Fence so that people keep slipping off? Patti? ;-)
Well, I'm posting from Ocean City, MD, from our new condo! Got broadband hoooked up on the 3rd day so I don't miss any more chats! My wife can also work from here now. Life is good.
Next time I'll hook up wi-fi so I can surf the web from the balcony. :-)

Stop by FitzMall (Fitzgerald's) while you're there. They have several car outlets there, including a Subaru dealer.
Bob
It's nice to hear good things happening to/for the crew.
Mark
Enjoy the condo, Juice. I'm assuming your closing was nice and simple, yes?
And congrads to Mark on the new Forester. Have fun!
-Dan-
Had some Copper River Salmon last week out in Portland. Yum!!!

We can host a Crew beach party but it'll have to be 2 guests at a time. The place is pretty small, it'll be an adjustment for us since the house we are accustomed to has 4.3 times the square footage.
Dan: yes, thanks, all went well and no surprises. Well, the A/C is dead but we new that coming in and got a partial credit for it at settlement.
No pics until I paint and re-carpet. :-)
Serge: still requires too much thought!
mike: yes, I am very close to there, call me on my cell and I'll meet you. In fact, bring the skid plate if you can (if not no prob).
'Course you may have already left.

juice closed on a place at the beach..I closed on a Forester at the beach!
Were going to get a hitch for the Forester this afternoon...I hope it doesnt cause karmic disruption for any Crew folks ;-)

I had an Escort that had $2200 of damage and they totalled it out and paid me $3000. So it does not have to exceed the value of the car, FWIW.

From what I understand, it was an insurance company decision. The 80% mark was not set in stone, and can vary from company to company.
Glad no one got hurt.
-Dan-
if the condition looks anywhere close to how Al'Gator looked like, it probably would be totalled.
Glad the everyone came out of it OK.
Oh, apary from value, I think they take the integrity of the vehicle's structure into consideration too.

Spent most of this past weekend car shopping. Drove the OBXT Ltd. w/auto, GT Ltd. Sedan w/auto, GT Ltd. Wagon w/manual and a Volvo V70R w/auto. Needless to say the wife and I are very impressed with the new offerings from Subaru. We both much preferred the ride and feel of the new Subaru's to the Volvo.
I've decided to get the GT Ltd. Wagon with manual tranny (in Platinum Silver). While I really liked the way the auto drove and all the cool ways to shift it, I guess I'm just not ready to retire my left leg. ;-)
Mark - Glad to hear no one was injured.
Juice - Congrats on the new condo!
Swampy - Way to be consistent! ;-) You'll get 'em next time. Maybe not all of them but hopefully at least one or two!

Congrats to Juice and Dan on the new houses, and everyone else on their new Subaru purchases. Hopefully I'll be adding another Subie to the family when my wife's car's lease is up in November.

OK, I have to make a plea to Save The Fence! People are dropping off like flies, I mean, who is left on there?
Lark6? The other day he hinted at a Forester XT, so who will be keeping me company? Ken is hanging by a thread, Ian has crouched and is ready to jump off head first into a GT.
Who's with me?
<crickets chirping>
Anyone?
<more crickets>
*sigh*

It is a good time to remember those that gave everything so that we can have so much. I don't often agree with our present administration, but that day is a time to put differences aside and thank all those that serve.

edit: P.S. Good post Steve!
I agree, great post Steve.
I hope that just because it has a turbo it's not considered the dark side! ;-)

Re:fence - It is going to be a while before I can do any "leaping" towards a new Subaru, at which time I'll have to choose between the OB & Legacy turbo's. Plenty of time to do some test drives. Maybe we can do some at the SIA tour?

Today we replaced our daughter's aging white Prelude with a new black CRV EX. We wanted the EX because it comes with ABS and side airbags.
She's on cloud nine now, and I guess that's what's important. She liked the Forester, but her heart was set on the CRV. I'm sure it will be a good car for her.
Bob
We also spent a moment of silence for our troops and the Vets. A salute to all who have served or are serving!
Patti
But seriously, they are nice cars, and I could certainly see the Honda being more attractive to young women. I don't have any science of theory behind it, but I'm certain the stats back it up. Subie needs to make the next redesign sexier/trendier in appearance to win the young demographic.
Yours truly will also be happy when she starts taking over the car payments in about a year or so, once she's out of nursing school.
Bob
Keep her family in your thoughts and prayers for the next year.

Wish him luck, and know he'll be thought of every day, along with all those serving.

Boy, $2.27 today, most I've ever paid. Premium was $2.43, and there was a person in Full Service paying $2.93 for premium! Yikes!
Good, I have Mark, Randy, and Brenda keeping me company on The Fence.
Bob: tell her congrats from me. I can understand that she didn't want to drive the same car her mom does - I felt the same way at her age.
Have the oil changed at a reputable shop. There have been a few issues with double gaskets and pinched gaskets on oil filters, NHTSA has been investigating and found 22 cases of engine fires on the CR-V.
The tech should wipe the area after the old filter is removed, that'll prevent a double gasket. The new filter gasket should be oiled so it glides on nicely and does not pinch. That plus use a quality oil filter.
I think she'll enjoy her new ride.

Brenda- Please let your son-in-law know we support him. It is my sincere hope that this action we have undertaken in Iraq can be brought to a timely resolution that brings him and his comrades home safely.
Perhaps the XT will change that perception...
