Juice - What about me? I already bought one! LOL!

Actually the dealership I bought from has a free oil change program. For the life of the car! ;-P

Well it has been a pretty tense day she had only about 15 Mins left on the test this morning and was doing well.

Then she started getting a gag reflex on the respirator tube she started getting panicky and couldn't hold her respritory rate and they had to abort that test. they decided to try again afternoon on a shorter P stat test(jump in here Paul if I have used the wrong expression)well she was doing great and the decision was made to pull the tube.

Just before they did they gave her a shot of adavan to settle her a little bit and she went to sleep, so they had to put that one on hold, By this time Rita and I were complete wrecks, we were both up from 5AM and we spent the whole day holding her hand talking her into keeping her resp. rate down. Anyway at 3PM she was finally awake enough to try so out it came.

She has been on her own breathing since 3-15PM her resp. rate is still higher than they like but her sats are 98% and blood gases are good, the worry is that she will get tuckered out unless the resp rate gets lower she has been off now 8 hours and if she gets through the night she is over the hump.

So I ask that those positive thoughts and prayers keep coming.

     Cheers Pat.

    Pat,

The news you report just keeps getting better and better. You and Rita must be so drained. I hope you can find time to rest so you can help your daughter make it over the hump.

    More thoughts coming your way.

Ateixeira, any word on that offer? The Legacy GT Limited I ordered for my wife here in Denver should be in any day. Free service, you say? Could this be regional thing? Curious...thanks.

I also got the $25 gift card and 3 years free service offers in the mail yesterday so I'm guessing that SOA is sponsoring it. I didn't pay close attention to the free service offer since I've already got it but if there's someone else who wants it I'll be happy to pass it along.

I've got 35% front and 20% rear and am satisfied with both the outward visibility as well as with how cool it keeps the interior but in your part of the country, 35% all around might be a better solution.

FYI there have been numerous tint related posts within the last week over in the Forester XT topic regarding the merits of tinting in the Pacific NW.

It's exhausting just reading what you guys are going through. The progress may be slow, but at least it's progress.

My wife was a little disappointed with the offer after we received it. She remembered me saying that Patti said it would be very good. She's still jealous of my Subaru Emergency kit that I got on a test drive and the value of that is $40.

Ok, Subaru. You need to up the ante! :-)

Pat - Hang in there! Sounds like things are getting better. Slowly but surely.

35% front doors and 20% everywhere is the max legal tint here in Kansas. honestly for cosmetic reasons I prefer 35% all around and think it's dark enough.

    I got two image

Oh, I got to use the foglight protector you gave me.
Had to drive into what looked like a plastic plant pot lobbed by an 18 wheeler to catch it between bounce and broke my protector, but the light survived. Even if the light didn't make it, I'll take it over being hit high [windshield].

That's great news. It is now morning and we await the great news that she made it through the night. She definitely is a fighter - must be the genes. :) The Crew continues to think about and pray for you guys.

Although I feel guilty talking about something so trivial while our friends are battling a serious crisis, I just received the offer via e-mail.

p0926 (Frank) If there's no problem with transferring that 3 year free service offer to anyone else (or anyWHERE else) we'd sure be interested in that, if it's still available. I'm at k9noles@comcast.net for snail mail address. Thanks very much...

    Pat & Rita,

I'm happy to hear that things are going in the right direction. I hope last night was uneventful and that you all were able to get some rest. You're in our thoughts.

I'll take a closer look at the paperwork tonight and let you know. My only reservation is that even if SOA is sponsoring it, I seem to recall a blurb about participating dealers. So if you don't get one in the mail then it's possible that your local dealer has opted out. Of course the mailings are mainly targeting current Subaru owners so not getting one doesn't mean that the dealer isn't participating.

Pat: It all sounds good, especially if she's at 98% on room air (no supplemental oxygen) That's as normal as normal gets. Ativan will put you in the snooze mode for sure, its a balancing act of keeping the anxiety down vs. forcing a nap :)

As worried as you both still are, it sounds from here like it's positive news. Continued thoughts & prayers beaming your way.

Take a nap - sounds like you won't need the Ativan yourself! :)

    Cheers!

I have been off line due to high work stress the past few days and missed the best part - off the respirator! Wow - what an incredible turnaround. New prayers have been sent from NY. Now rest!!!

Tomorrow marks 8th anniversary of Gotcha Day for Emily. This past weekend we had one of the families from the 1996 trip over, and the girls released balloons with notes attached to their birthmoms. Dang, it is a long way from NY to Hunan....

Well the good news her condition has just been upgraded from very critically ill to seriously ill, she is over the hump thank God.

It will still be a ways yet, but every member on the medical team and there are lots to whom we owe a great depth of gratitude for their unstinting treatment, there were some nights some of them stayed well past their duty time to stay with her.

As I was about to say not one of them thought she would make it past last Thursday night, thats how sick she was, The word is out that she is off the respirator and some of the docs. who were off duty have come in to see this miracle.

Thanks to everyone for all the support.

      Cheers Pat and Rita.

Ken: it's in the snail mail. Got it out before the mail man picked up, too.

k9noles: hope Frank can get you his, or Dave can get one of *both* of his. ;-)

    Pat: Amen.

Steve: cool, Happy Gotcha Day. My wife threw a baby shower for our friends that adopted (my new Godson). Of course his name is, naturally, Dave.

Serge: Wednesday night would have been best but I'll earn some quick Honey Do points and meet you one night, I hope. Bob - wanna join us? Loosh? Who else is close to DC?

I'll join the chat soon as I intall Java on this PC...I'm at the beach!

So, is she listed as AWOL? J/K... I assume that a medical discharge is in her future? I am betting that you really want to take her back home with you for a while.

Wild and wacky chat, folks, for those that made it.

Even Gallium Ion Beams were discussed. And I got to say "Periodic Vortex Shedding" once. Twice now, actually.

Boy you can tell it's a Subaru chat!

But don't worry, we also talked about pizza crust and ice cream.

Next week is double trouble. 9-2x chat at 7pm EST and then ours at 9pm. Hey, 2 Subaru chats in one day! LOL

Well one step forward and a half step back, they tried givng her a little water today but she was not ready and the pancreas flared up, she has been sick a number of times and is in a lot of pain.

They are some concerned because the discomfort is of course raising her respiratory rate which in turn raises her heart rate, I don't have to tell you this is an extremely stressful time.

I guess it is reminder that she still has a long way to go in her recovery.

      Cheers Pat.

That's cool, Frank...I suspected that might be the case. We had a 2000 Legacy GT, but sold it about a year ago, so we probably dropped off SOA's radar.

    Thanks for your time...

Can anyone recommend a car cover company/type of cover for an outdoor car? I have to replace the cover on the Spitfire, and I admit to being confused by all the different types.

    TIA
