There are a bunch of photos at that source of a trip to Turkey and Greece by the photographer in May of 1965. Interested to see that in Turkey almost all the cars shown in the photos were American, while in Greece it was much more of a mix of European cars with some American iron tossed in.
Are those factory headlights? Not a good look, IMO.
I don't particularly like them but it is a better look than the pop-ups. the 550/575 were basically good looking IMO but need nice colors to highlight the style.>
Lots of Ferrari styling in recent years has left me cold.
Ever since the Lambo Contact found it's way onto the walls of every young guy, exotic car styling has left me cold. Even Aston-Martin has left restraint by the roadside.
I looked at 8-10 850 pics on BAT and none had a V12 badge. FWIW-That gen 8-Series is known as the E-31 in BMW speak.
It's interesting to me how BMW seems to have had a thing for pillar less coupes ever since the original 2000CS of the 1960s, which is odd since after the late 50s the style began to go extinct. I guess Hoffmeister and his brethren were really impressed by one of the last and best-styled of the pillar-less designs>

Change to US headlights, move the mirrors to their proper position, and change color from blue to gray, and that looks just like my '67 2000 CS!

Yes, M-B has done some nice pillarless h/ts. I can't recall what they call the current E-Class Coupe.
I think it is just called E-class coupe. On that one there is a soft pillar dividing the rear window about 90% back, so the window will go all the way down.
Surprised to see so many Beetles so early. I will pick off the bathtub Packard and just-postwar Stude at right.
Given this is a 1955 photo (newest MY of cars) of a well-to-do area on the East Coast (Brookline MA) it isn't that surprising to see a couple of imports among that many cars.
Lady appears to be standing next to a 68 Torino. In the background a lovely blue Mk 2 Jag and what looks like maybe a ~50 Buick convertible, a somewhat vintage car even then. The van appears to be a real oddball, maybe a Hanomag or perhaps a German Ford.
That van in Marin County is a real shock to me - I would never have expected to see it in the US
Had a Corgi toy of one just like it and strangely it was in Army green with a star on it indicating it was meant to be US army ! I never thought they meant it....

The Boston area black and white shot is quite challenging as most of these never saw our shores but I did see a Lincoln Cosmopolitan which I think was 1953 or so at a British car show last year although I can't find the picture I took at the time.
I think the big black car nose first towards the earth bank is one of those.
I had started a post about the Ford. It has gunsights on the front fenders, it has chrome over the door pillars like the Fairlane does. But I couldn't see there was a chrome piece on the front fender. There is NOT a chrome wrap around the top and sides of the windshield of the car like the Fairlanes have in the US brochures; the wrap looks like a Custom windshield trim.'
Somewhere I saw a reference to a Custom 500. Was there another model? Or was that a mistype of 500 instead of 300?
Did Ford still have Meteor models in Canada where this might be one of those?
The Town sedan I believe was only available as a Fairlane or Fairlane 500. Other 4 drs were the more familiar 6 windows. I liked the look of that era town sedan personally.

@ab348 posted the link to that very same car on the same day. And now it's back.

I do think Ferrari is doing better recently.

The Picture of the Skoda Octavia in Vienna with the Peugeot 403 behind it.
The red car beyond the 403 is a Skoda 1200 - the model before the Octavia I think although they may've been overlapped.
EDIT - may also be Skoda 1201
I'm not sure what the white car next to the black split window Ford is, perhaps a Hudson Jet.

The van was the reason I posted the pic. Such an odd thing to see!
